It's not naughty songs or slogans that fill a&e wards on an old firm day. It's boozed up idiots. The media aided by the lack of competition in Scottish football, and old firm rivalry, whip up a storm around the old firm game. They create an event, which many use as an excuse to go on an all day bender, and then fight, beat up their wifes.... How is this bill going to address that issue? Alcohol, and the attitudes towards it in Scotland are a far bigger problem.

I'd imagine with top 6 football being our target at the start of the season the budget was based on that. Without going mental we may now be looking at making a small investment in January, in the form of wages for 1 or 2 players to push for European football, possibly even 3rd place. There is also the possibility that some of our players could go in January, I'd imagine Randolph, hateley, Hutchison, murphy, law and others may be on the radar of some championship or league 1 sides given our impressive form so far.

Aberdeens equaliser would have done the job for them aswell! Missed a good chunk of the 1st half because of it. Was started by over the top, heavy handed stewarding, and wasn't helped by folk being a bit tipsy and confrontational. The police seemed embarrassed by the melee the stewards had created.

Surely the only guy to make his debut as a sub, and score a hat trick?

Celtic have always been quite clever when dishing out treatment to players. I'm sure there was a stat when we played them at parkhead with faddy in the team, that every outfield player had fouled him before halftime!

I generally stay in my seat until the end, but to be fair, a lot of folk in the east stand probably don't leave the ground, they just start making their way towards the exit. We sit in the 2nd last section, and it takes us about 10 minutes to get out.

Hateleys goal at stmirren and the celebrations, then east end park are best bits so far! Low point was stjohnstone game. Despite losing the cup tie with Hibs, it was probably the best game?
-
I've seen a video online of McFadden scoring an unbelievable goal for our reserves (against stjohnstone I'm sure), where he beats 5 or 6 players. Anybody know the video I'm talking about, and know where I might find it? I'm sure I didn't dream it!!

Without doubt it's our best start in 17 years. Not sure how we started the year we finished 2nd? I think it was only 2 points for a win then?
-
Couldn't make it today, but price was a factor, yes, had it been cheaper, I'd have maybe managed along, at £22, it was an easy decision! Anyway! Great 1st round of games, another good result, and an excellent 1st half performance by the sound of it, against an improving Hibs side!

Just seen on twitter Celtic have their agm today. Makes sense now!

Unless you're madjid bougherra!

I would doubt it, as we did not gain from it in anyway. Nearest example would be the Pakistan cricket spot fixing, as far as I know it's only the players in bother.

Spot on!

You could argue he's the perfect target? Plays in a league that gets a lot of coverage, and has live tv games, but in football terms is not a high earner. A premiership or old firm player would have too little gain, and too much to lose.

From what I remember at the time, it was pretty small time stuff? A few bets of £50 placed in new accounts. If id been watching in the house, I'd have been on the red card in play too.
-
Worked out reasonably well that it's happened during the international break! Hopefully it's all blown over by the Hibs game???
-
I text my mate at half tine saying there would be a red card in the 2nd half. The ref had a 'mare! I'd line to think he's innocent, but do they arrest you to question you, if they think you are? I don't know?

I think top 6 is about our level. However my expectations at the start of a season are probably more. I think barring more injuries, we could punch above our weight this season, maybe 3rd or 4th, and a crack at Europe.
-
Yeah, we have struggled against the teams around us! Only as we are currently sitting between rangers and Celtic! As much as I enjoyed watching Celtic lose on Sunday, a hearts victory is a bad result for us, as come the end of the season we are far more likely to be in a race for 3rd/4th with hearts than fighting Celtic for 2nd.

I'd settle for losing 8 times to the old firm, if we carry on beating everyone else! I think it's the manner of some of the defeats that have annoyed people, which I understand. I'm sure it's something they are looking at, and hopefully on the 6th of November we will see some signs of improvement. I'm more worried about the no show against stjohnstone! A repeat of that would annoy me far more. In reality we shouldn't be able to challenge the OF, they have a squad 3 times the size of ours, and can afford dumplings like edu or loovens who each earn more than our starting 11 combined. Rangers apparently had 13 players out when they played us, but had 7 internationals on the park.

I wasn't sure about hately at first, thought he was a bit powderpuff in centre mid, but at rightback he's been great for us! The fact he has featured in every game for 2 and a bit years, where we have done reasonably well suggests he's a very important player. An attacking threat, and not too bad defensively. Not to mention his set pieces. McCall didn't even rest him at the end of last season, presumably to jeep his run of games going? He's still young too, so still learning and improving.

A scottish cup final and 2nd in the spl 10 games in with the smallest squad and probably smallest budget we've ever had says he was a good appointment.
