Our only realistic chance of Europe is winning the cup, or losing the final to Celtic. (sorry, not a nice thought).

I think they are hoping to play the ict v Celtic game after the split, although that would need us to beat hearts, or ict to lose a game, or us drawing, and ict only getting a draw in either of their 2 games. Seems quite feasible that we could lose at tynecastle, and ict get 4 or 6 points from their 2 games, which would mean they would probably need to draw up 2 sets of fixtures, and squeeze the ict v Celtic game in sometime in the next 2 weeks.

Asking my dads pal why the Dundee united fans were dressed as arabs with a fake camel, and getting the response "'cos they're going to get humped!"

I thought it was a yellow all day long! Also think it was the turning point in the game. Humphrey was destroying him upto that point, had set up the goal, and had a couple of good runs, that tackle finished his game imo, he might as well have been subbed there and then. From Clancys point of view, he'd take a booking for putting a marker on humphrey. Jennings could easily have been red, don't know what he was thinking? shocking attempt at a challenge. It's one of his best and worst qualities at the same time unfortunately. That one was so needless though, maybe in different circumstances its worth the risk of a booking, but not 2 yards from the touchline on the halfway line!

Havent seen charalambous yet, but Casagolda is mince! I honestly reckon Casagolda has just scammed his way into a contract as a proffesional footballer, and Ive seen nothing from him to prove me wrong. Take away the greasy hair, exotic name, and pink boots and there isnt anything left to make me think he can play! Im sure it was 43 minutes in the killie game before he touched the ball! (he jumped for a few headers, but never won any of them)

Just saw on ssn that grella has signed on loan for Swindon until the end of the season. How can that be? I thought he couldn't play for us because he had already played for 2 clubs (Leeds and Carlisle) this season.

Comes back to the point that these guys have been wrapped in cotton wool since they were in there early teens, and told how great they are. Why would they need to work at it? Think of some of the potentially great Players Scottish football has lost to being overweight, or lazy, or having a poor lifestyle, or could have at least done much better.

It was fairly quiet. There was one to the tune of the fernando Torres/ chris porter song, think it had the line, ....he is the fox inside the box, he hates Craig brown and Archie Knox.... And any other shouts I remember probably couldn't/shouldn't be repeated. Nick blackman was pretty awful, and looks like becoming a boo boy target for those hard to please Aberdeen fans.

If you'd asked me at halftime, there was no doubt Jeffers was the best player on the park! As he went off so early, I'll say hately. Won every ball that came near him, good pace to get back and won balls, and his distribution was decent aswell. Thought he had a great game. Forbes was very good too, looked very confident on the ball, and didn't waste many passes.

Im workIng in Aberdeen tomorow, so planning going to the game, but going to really grudge paying £22 when I could have gone for a fiver! If anybody still has any of the £5 tickets they don't need, give me a shout! Cheers.

I thought he only wrote Lee mcculloch puff pieces??
-
lasley, hammell or murphy were the only 3 even close to pass marks. Lasley didnt have a bad game he was left a bit exposed in the middle of the park with Gow alongside him. Lasley for me.
-
I'm not sure if I'd be glad to see Gow go, or annoyed that we'd got him close to match fit (he still looks like he has a bit to go?), then he goes and has a good second half of season elsewhere? How long can we give him to come good? I can see has something, but does he have the enthusiasm and workrate or even any end product? I didnt even know which fot he shoots with, 'cos he never gets a shot away!

Is jennings not missing the next 3 for going through the points threshold? Makes a big difference to my team selection! Randolph Hateley Craigan Reynolds Hammell Humphrey Lasley Jennings (or fitzpatrick if jennings suspended) Sutton Murphy Blackman
-
Have to agree! He doesn't cut it at all in midfield, and to be honest I don't think he is a better right back than saunders. I knew hately would play in midfield, but thought maybe sutton would have played instead of gow. Very surprising when hately went off that gow got moved into the middle?? Gow is not a central midfielder, he is a luxury that we can't afford, always takes too many touches, and tries to be too fancy, I think everytime he had the ball he gave it away! Forbes and fitzpatrick have both improved the team when they have played. I'd have started with lasley and fitzy in middle and Sutton on the left. Sutton gave us a lift when he came on, and he is probably our strongest player, seems strange to leave him out a team that is constantly being bullied!

I'm presuming no news is good news? Would like to think if it was in doubt the club would let us know through the website or on ssn or something. Hope it's on, kind of wastes my afternoons plans if it's off!
-
Aye, not heard anything of a pitch inspection. Had ssn on. They have mentioned the 10am inspection at tannadice several times. Got to presume game is on? Unless they are not talking about it because it's an espn game? I'd imagine if the pitch is playable ( which it will be), any other problems would gave been flagged up by now??

I do think occasionally the bookies offer value in markets, that maybe as a fan I know more about than the odds compilers. For example, although saunders hasn't scored many goals for us (1, maybe 2?), he is an obvious threat at set pieces so at 33/1+ 1st goal, he represents far better value than a lot of others. A friend of a friend of mine works for an Asian betting syndicate compiling stats on matches that they then use to pick there bets. I don't know much about it (other than it's one of the best, and definitely dodgiest jobs I have heard of), but presumably they use this to find hidden value in markets. We thought jenno was goiing to get sent off from about 50 minutes, had I been watching at home, I'd have been on that bet!
-
But if we both go to a 'well game with 3 mates each, thats 3/4 of the pitch paid for already!

I was listening to sportsound on my way back from Dundee (which kind of makes my point), and they were all saying what a good decision it was. I'm with you, and of the opinion that maybe friday lunchtime would have been a better time to assess the situation. Unfortunately as football fans, we are treated like idiots who can't decide for ourselves. The ridiculous thing is, we'll end up playing on wild wednesday nights in january, when there is no reason we couldn't have played today. Look at the Inverurie loco's game 2 years ago, of all the attempts to play it, the worst road conditions were the day we played it, and much worse than today. The Weather and conditions were bad on wednesday, and have gradually improved since, so i agree they were a bit hasty. To look from the other point of view, they have gone to the extreme to avoid late call offs, and arguably saved clubs money on preparation by making such an early decision. Perhaps they could have looked at each case on its own, instaed of a blanket call off?

The story i read in the sun the other day didnt make motherwell sound very good at all! They were complaining it was too expensive to use Ravenscraig, so they were going to Toryglen. Is that not a bit like complaining that they cant afford Messi, so they brought in Alan Gow on a short term contract instead? Why should a professional football team get a discount at a local sports centre? Surely kids, folk on low incomes or whatever are far more entitled to a discount? £55 for a 1/4 of a football pitch for an hour is bloody dear. So is £20 to watch Motherwell v ICT, stjohnstone, Hamilton........
-
There are many reasons why the Split is a farce! When the spl have the balls to send celtic to ibrox 3 times, or rangers to parkhead three times, I'll take it seriously!
-
Are you trying to say it isn't? Im not talking about tonights game. Im talking about Motherwell v ICT or StMirren in January. I don't want in free (unless they're offering), but i think SPL football is too expensive. This isnt a dig at MFC, in fact we have been one of the teams trying to keep prices down. I can't believe you think you're getting value for money paying £20 upwards to watch SPL football!
-
I agree with Murray on most points! Football is too expensive and it's alienating fans, particularly occasional fans who can take it or leave it. I work a lot of weekends, so don't have a season, I get my dads when he can't go, and pay in the rest of the time. £20 is too much though! £15 is around the mark i think prices should be, thats inline with prices in other european leagues, and more like value for money. I went to killie on sunday, and no way was that £20 worth of entertainment, and we won!!! The east stand has a great atmosphere at times, but its a dump of a stand, facilities are awful, views arent great, the roof leaks.... Compare it to a cinema, bowling alley, leisure centre.... We, as football fans are crazy for paying premium prices for a crap product in crap facilities! Anyway, who cares, hopefully tomorow night is £20 well spent!!!!
