2018/19 Game 27: Celtic (A) Sunday 24th February 3.00pm Kick Off

Agree with that. Just trying to see both sides. Was it Rangers at Fir Park Livingstone went off injured leaving us with 10 men and they scored before we had a sub ready. Remember thinking that was naive from our POV, should’ve done what Christie did. -

I’m actually coming round to that opinion. Having initially felt Scott was out of order (while making allowances for him being naive or over keen). I don’t think we should be taking lectures on sportsmanship from that lot anyway. -

I don’t understand how Edouard got booked for the clash with Aldred? If it’s accidental, nothing, if it’s deliberate, it’s a red card. I’m not a referee, but what was he booked for? I can’t see a bookable offence. Red or nothing, deliberate or accident. From one angle it looks accidental clash of heads, from another it looks like he’s caught him with his elbow... -
I think we’ve rolled over a couple of away kits to be 3rd kits the following season?
-
I believe that’s why Chris Humphrey “retired” then signed for EK a week later? and remember reading that about Gordon too.
-
I’d think by that point, he’d be considering chucking it, presumably footballers have some sort of insurance against career ending injuries?
-
@Mitch The difference is, it’s not like he’s unfit to “hit the standards” because he’s sitting on a couch eating crisps and taking the piss. He’s injured, an injury he picked up playing for us. If we apply the “real world” logic to injuries, we’ll have Digby Brown chapping the door soon enough.
-
Hypothetically if Carson was fit for our next game, you’d have to say Gillespie holds the gloves and stick with him until he gets injured/suspended or loses form. If say Carson returns for pre season in July, there’s a natural break so could put him back in.... 1st world problems!
-
I think someone had joked he got better the longer he was out, but he did look like exactly the player we need in our team. The emergence of Turnbull has softened the blow a bit. If he ever does get back, will be like a new signin.

Going slightly off topic, but seems a lot of the boys coming through are Motherwell fans as well? Turnbull, Campbell and Cadden are all apparently ‘well fans. Dunno what if anything that means, but interesting all the same...

Need to free up some space on our roster....
-
Our seasons done, we got knocked out the cup and then made ourselves safe! Theres no way 2/3 teams below us can put a run together to catch us, and we have shown on occasion we are more than capable of picking up the odd result. Likewise, 6th is out of sight. Clear out some dead wood, give some of our own young players some time on the park, and start planning for the summer. Why would we want to waste time and money giving game time to someone else’s player? and there’s no need to panic buy as there’s no panic....
-
Might sound ridiculous, but he’s probably not as much of a giant in those leagues, which takes away the urge to pump balls up to his head. He’s not really done anything for us, but we’ve never played to his strengths and there have been glimpses there’s a player in there.
-
He’d be a decent replacement for Bowman and could possibly work with McCormack like he did with McDonald previously....
-
Was he not abroad somewhere fairly obscure?

Saw Nicky Law scored for Exeter yesterday.

2018'19 Game 23:Dundee (A) Saturday 26th January 2019

A win would surely have us all but safe already, which would be pretty amazing considering how bad we’ve apparently been. Would also keep Livi and Hibs in our sites... Stringing results together hasn’t been put strong point, but a look at Aberdeen shows what a difference it makes. -
We don’t really need any more injuries or midfielders so Rossiter would seem a waste of resources! We need a fit left sided player.

Connor Sammon is big, strong and can hold the ball up, he’s just really bad in the air for a guy of his size. -

It seems like the situation with McHugh last season all over again. Hartley’s not been playing well, but Robinson doesn’t appear to want to drop the club captain. Even though he’s either not fully fit or completely off the boil. -

1 up front us only a problem if they’re left completely isolated. in mark McGhees 1st spell and season I’d have said we played 4-5-1 when we were defending, but 4-3-3 when we were attacking. Great system if we have the players to do it, Aryibi and a fitter McCormack might allow for that? -

Don’t really agree with that. We have a winnable home game against an erratic side. The other 3 have tough games, but there will be a week we have a tough away game and they all have a good chance of picking up points... -
Just sign him month to month and he’d be brilliant! Met him a couple of times and seemed a nice guy, but from bits I heard, he appeared to have a bit of a chip on his shoulder?
-
Exactly. We love to hate guys like Imrie, Scott Brown, Morelos etc. It adds to the match day experience for me having a pantomime villain on the park or an utter donkey full back to hurl abuse at from the east stand. When they give it back, we need to suck it up, and store it for when we get one up on them.
-
How could they possibly predict 2000+ Motherwell fans turning up at NDP... They did a marginally better job than usual of getting us into the ground, but had little or no control inside. Are those nets behind the goal supposed to stay up? Didn’t do anything for the view and would imagine a safety issue if there was an emergency in the stand and we had to evacuate as 2/3 of the stand is basically fenced in.
