  1. They were in a lot worse state of repair after Accies goal. For a good couple of minutes after there were cracking and banging sounds coming from the end section. As someone else said, we would slate any fans as scum if they came to fir park and did that.
  2. Every time we go there it’s the same shambles. At least they had a bit of a system for ticket/PATG and most of our fans appear to have learned from past experiences and turned up pretty sharp to see KO. Still took me about 15 minutes to get in, which is 14 minutes longer than any other ground.
  3. Transfer window been open 12 hours and we’ve not signed anyone... :p
  4. Slightly off topic, but Motherwell more than most will be thankful of the winter break. However, would that be the case if we hadn’t shoehorned almost a quarter of the season into December? I like the New year game, rather than playing it early as we have done the last 2 years, but also as a wider point feel the winter break is a bit of a farce, we’re straight back with a midweek game in late January, which could easily be the coldest week of the year... If sack the winter break and reduce the schedule in December, just move the weekend games to Boxing Day and Newcyear if need be....
  5. Thought Frear was push in 1st half, but had a good 2nd half. Johnson was good 1st half, Sammon rotten, but opposite in 2nd half. Aldred and Hartley did well at back, so has to be Aldred for 2 goals.
  6. That’s why we keep going back! To be fair while on paper losing at Livi is a shocker, the game isn’t played on paper or grass in this case. They are pretty strong at home. Speaking of which, I’ll be going to Hamilton more in hope than expectation, I’ve yet to see an outbreak of football on that pitch, and we’ve gone there with a team that wanted to play football in the past. Usually Hamilton drag teams down to their level, this time they’ll need to meet us halfway.
  7. It seems clear that when teams like St Mirren come to Fir Park they know they can create a shitfest, and as we have not one creative player in our squad, we will never break them down, so as time goes on they might pick us off. That worked perfectly for St Mirren today. I don’t remember one meaningful attack before their 68th minute goal. They could’ve had another late on. Meanwhile we huff and puff, but hardly create a thing, you look to the bench and don’t see anybody who could change it.
  8. Even with the best intentions in the world, are you going in for a 50/50 with Scott Brown in Andy Roses shoes? Subconsciously or otherwise, he’s not going to be 100% committed.
  9. If you look at the “likes” for Sinjys post and some other more positive posts it suggests that the doom mongers just shout the loudest while everyone else looks on shaking their heads. The negativity on this site is off the charts. We are having a horrendous time with injuries just now, but still have a good bit of breathing space from the bottom 2. I don’t want to pin all my hopes on a guy that’s played 15 games in 18 months, but Craig Tanner looks like exactly the player we are missing and will be like a new signing if we can get him fit. We do seem to have a bloated squad full of players that are never fit combined with injuries to Carson, Cadden and Dunne. Killie apart from having a very good manager, appear to have a similar set of circumstances to the seasons we finished 2nd a tight squad Who have got in a habit of winning.
  10. Aye, I did this for 1st time for tonight. Bought online, and they instantly emailed me a PDF of ticket and printed off at home. Provided you have access to a printer it’s a piece of piss.
  11. We’re due a break against Celtic, whether we have the tools to take advantage is another question. Like every domestic game, if Celtic turn up they’ll win. Although a failure to kill games off has crept in, so hopefully we can stay in the game for an hour and see what happens after that. (Probably a Celtic penalty and a red card )
  12. I suppose somewhere in the national league is the line between full time and part time. You see with the SPFL league 1 the full time teams generally get promoted and part time teams get relegated from the championship.
  13. Probably wrong thread, but see Carson wasn’t even on bench...
  14. Samson is pish compared to Darren Randolph, Sieb Dijkstra or Trevor Carson, he’s better than me, and probably on a par with Gunnar Nielsen, Michael Fraser or Dan Twardzik.
  15. Yes, we can’t fix what’s gone, we need to not let it happen again.
  16. I think we’re on the same page here. What I mean is, like Stephen Robinson said, it doesn’t excuse the apparent downing of tools in the 2nd half. Which is perhaps where our focus should be, we can do nothing about Sunday now, but we can’t let that happen again! Perhaps it wouldn’t have happened had Robinson not been sent to the stand? Another reason to be aggrieved. Our 2nd half capitulation let’s Thomson off the hook to an extent(certainly if you’re not looking at it from a ‘well fan point of view), as on paper we got pumped. Given he got sent to the stand for his reaction, I’m guessing privately Robinson does blame Thomson to an extent, but also couldn’t say that post match, a) because it would get him a ban and b) because it would look like deflection for our 2nd half no show. While I agree Mchugh shouldn’t be a penalty, if the written rules are applied, i’d be screaming for that at the other end and they get given 9/10. The rule needs changed or applied correctly. Actual out and out deliberate handballs are incredibly rare. James McFadden for Scotland v Norway (or Iceland?) at Hampden and Luis Suarez v Ghana at 2014 World Cup are only 2 that pop in to my head. I’m not sure he had to book Mchugh for the handball? Or even what the rule is on yellow or not? He also failed to give us a stonewall penalty that would’ve resulted in a red card for Tavernier, would’ve had little impact on this game, but would’ve had implications on goal difference and a suspension successful appeal for Tavernier.
  17. We were well in the game at 1-1, they were putting us under pressure, but looked extremely fragile at the back anytime we put them under pressure. The embarrassing collapse in the 2nd half was a shocking reflection on the mentality of the squad. I’d said a few weeks ago a result like Sunday’s might be the wake up call we need. Blaming Thomson is a bit of a cop out in that respect. However those stats posted earlier on the page are mental, admittedly a relatively small sample. Of all the 6 red cards Thomson has given us only 1 wasn’t controversial/debatable and that was McHughs 2 yellows at Mcdiarmid. Not one was for a wild knee high tackle, headbut, luis Suarez style handball on the goal line....
  18. Those stats are pretty crazy. Thats an average of almost 1 Red card per game with Thomson, but 1 in 20 without. Even removing the StJohnstone game which is a bit of an anomaly, he still gives is 10 times more red cards than any other Ref (3 in 6 v 1 in 20)
  19. I think looking at the pricing for away fans would be a start. Many of us pick and choose our away games, and pricing is a big factor in that for me, and certainly for families. Make Motherwell away a game that Dundee, Killie, Hibs fans etc. mark in their diary. edit: actually family price of £28 for adult and 2 kids or £3 for kids is good. Adult price of £24 still a bit steep. Do we publicise the cheap family tickets?

    Who’s next?

I saw Gordon Strachan linked with Dundee, can’t see it, but hypothetically I’d take him for a hypothetical vacancy in a heartbeat.
  21. I think the rest of the support are guilty of just leaving it to them to start anything. Although even before the ‘well Bois, any singing always started in that area anyway. Was wondering what was going on with the group hanging about outside. Are they all banned or staying away in support of some who are? Certainly missed their presence on Saturday.

    Who’s next?

Yeah, we’ve been losing games by the odd goal, but often without ever looking like winning them. If we took a real pumping off someone (other than Celtic) maybe we could get a reaction. At the moment it’s the sequence of results rather than any individual result that’s the problem, and maybe that’s why we’re reluctant to change as we’re not a million miles away; on paper anyway. I thought we played ok on Saturday to a point and for most of the game didn’t resort to hoofball tactics. Lack of confidence in likes of Frear and Main, and lack of sharpness for Dunne, Campbell looked tired, Cadden was the same as he’s been every game for a year, Bowman is honest and hard working, but he’s not very good...

    Who’s next?

Agree on Aldred, he’s not a replacement for Kipre, and not an upgrade on Hartley or McHugh. McHugh is a far better defender than midfielder, and we have a load of midfielders that are as good as McHugh, so he would have sufficed as an additional centre half. So while I think Aldred is decent, I don’t think we needed him. To be fair to Robinson, nobody could’ve anticipated how disappointing ATS was going to be I quite like Johnson and think he has strengthened the squad, but we also signed Sammon who has been; perhaps more predictably, disappointing also.

    Who’s next?

Hopefully the rest we’re getting will help. Cadden, Campbell and Bigi in particular, Dunne will be a week fitter... The problem does seem to be our summer recruitment, none of them have hit the ground running and only Aldred (who barely counts as a new signing) and ATS (who lasted 20 minutes) started. We didn’t strengthen our starting 11 and added quantity over quality.
