  1. The current system is the best possible Financially: We play 38 games, the most a top division can play The structure allows TV deals to be sold on 4 OF games, Edinburgh derbies, etc Competitively: A reachable and solid measure of success for clubs outside the OF in the form of the top six Final games in the season are against closest rivals Minus points for the 1 up one down system. They should AT LEAST have a playoff for the 11th team vs 2nd in the first. Sustainability: A league big enough to encompass more than 25% of Scottish League teams and over 50% of full time teams Any bigger and the lower divisions will suffer from the better (and almost invariably bigger) teams being removed from their division
  2. Pretty sure Humphrey has already said he wants to play for jamaica.
  3. This is a stupid proposal. There are an odd number of games for a start meaning that there will be an uneven number of home and aways. The OF won't vote for having to play one another away twice one season with only one home match. The point that never gets answered when people want to expand the league by 4 teams is what happens to the first. The reason no one wants to expand relegation to a playoff is because of the massive gap between Premier money and First money. Extending the premier league try to solve this problem by making the SPL poorer which also makes the first division poorer. If you have 16 premier teams how long is full time professional football going to last in the lower divisions and rather than creating a safety net for middling teams like us a bad season would see us staring into the abyss rather than just the crap hole that is the current first. I think we have an optimum system right now that creates drama and allows well run clubs to turn a profit. We have had a few reconstructions in the past and they were all heralded as saving Scottish football. Nothing is going to change the players on the park and quite frankly I would rather watch Well vs Hibs hearts aberdeen celtic rangers dundee united etc instead of games against Morton QotS etc. Novelty will only last so long until people start rolling out contraction of the SPL to make sure quality players are playing quality players every week.
  4. You can still get singles for £10 from thetrainline.com for the 10:11am train. Got my friends fares from there after seeing none on Scotrail or nationrail websites
  5. Celtic had a decent side out for this bounce game, not surprising they beat us convincingly. CELTIC: Cervi (Giorando); Wilson, Hooiveld (Misun), Rogne (Gallacher), Mulgrew (Kurakins); McGinn (Towell), Crosas (P Twardzik), Ki, F Twardzik (Gormley); Trialist (Keatings), Hooper. Wonder who was playing for us.
  6. BBC Highlights We scored a good goal today and Killie didn't threaten. Hopefully the rest will do Lasley and Craigan good and they will be on top form on Thursday. Can't beat 3 points without some key players. Blackman did well up front and he will be pushing for a starting spot soon. Casagolda was alright, some nice play but needs to work on his touch. Page did OK too, Villa was a handful and he dealt well but I think the only time he actually got forward with any real effect was the goal. Roll on Thursday and come on the well.
  7. Right first post on here. Got the BBC highlights recorded. You can find them here. Video transcoding program was giving me some hassle so you have to listen to John Sutton for a bit before the highlights. Decent quality mp4 and only 9MB, hope this helps those who haven't seen the goals.
