McCall: "Gunnar saved a penalty and did very well. Lee Hollis is also very good. He had a good clean sheet at the weekend against Hibs and will be in goal against Aberdeen on Sunday."
-
There are times when I really wish I didn't support Motherwell. Not because of the club. Because I'm embarrassed to be associated with some of the most ignorant, unfair, moaning faced c***s that were ever born in this country. Honest to God, this place almost reduces me to tears.
-
This player that everyone is gutted we didn't sign is the same one that couldn't even make it into our starting XI last season, yes?
-
I don't agree with the decision. We should be fielding our strongest XI and trying to win the tie. However, if the six-hour flight genuinely increases the risk of McFadden and Vigurs tearing hamstrings and being out for a lengthy period, it's maybe a decision that needed to be made.
-
Everything he offers, we already have. He offers nothing that we need.
-
It's a 4-2-3-1 according to Chick Young: Hollis Ramsden, Hutchinson, McManus, Hammell Lasley, Lawson McFadden, Vigurs, Francois-Angol, Sutton
-
Considering how decimated our team from last season was and how many new players had to be brought in as a result, how can anyone say our team is the best (or, by the same token, worst) in the league?
-
Apologies, I must have missed that.
-
Purely out of interest, what would people say to a 4-3-2-1 of: GK: Neilsen RB: Ramsden CB: Hutchinson CB: McManus LB: Hammell MC: Lasley MC: Lawson MC: Carswell AMC: Vigurs AMC: McFadden ST: Sutton

McCall wants regionalised Europa League
-
I'm not knocking your idea but if Faddy plays behind two strikers then we'll have no width at all. Or is that what you would be looking for?
-
Quite interesting that one or two on here are putting Vigurs in the hole and sticking Faddy out wide on the right. There's no way Faddy should be used to fill a space in the team. He's the best player in the whole league. He goes where he can be the central figurehead and then the other 10 players are fitted around him, surely?
-
Totally agree. Considering the size of teams and the countries they are from, it seems ridiculous that regional qualification hasn't been introduced. While it may not be palatable, I can understand UEFA using seeding to protect the big teams when they enter. It's piss poor that they don't look to protect the wee teams at this early stage by giving them ties that don't end up costing them a fortune in travelling.
-
What's the priority for everyone then? Are you looking for a draw we could possibly win? Are you looking for a draw that allows a good trip away? Are you looking for a glamour tie?
-
Why hasn't he called? He said he call. Was it something I said? Should I call him? He said he had a good time and wanted to see me again. Did I come on too strong? WHY HASN'T HE CALLED?!?!?!

Typical Scottish mentality of leadership = shouting a lot and being aggressive. Andy_P, as usual, is spot on. Effective leadership comes in many forms.
-
Oh yeah! Hadn't thought of that. I didn't want Hateley to leave but the idea of someone else taking our corners is tremendously exciting!

You claim your point is simple but the answer is even simpler. We cannot afford to have as many players on the books as we did last year. We cannot afford to offer wages that would keep the likes of Higdon and Randolph and so we have to sign players of a slightly lower calibre because they will accept a slightly lesser salary. There's only so much you can cut back? What part of keeping to a budget is not clear? Take a look around Hearts, Dunfermline, Rangers, etc where such blatant disregard of budgeting and finances have all occurred. We don't have as much money as we did last year. Our income is dropping. We need to cut costs. Oh, and you, as chief executive in charge of finances wouldn't have signed the likes of Daley? So, Stuart McCall comes up to you and says that he's found a midfielder that he'd really like to sign to improve the team and you'd turn round and say "Naw, I reckon he's shit. Not that I've ever actually seen him play in the flesh but no, you can't have him." What a way to inspire and motivate your manager.
-
Don't talk shit: it's Jennoe, not Jenno.
-
I'm happy to continue with a discussion on the necessity of signing players this week. However, if your argument is just going to be ridiculous, overly dramatic exaggerations then I'll just bow out here and leave you all to your panic and fretting.
-
What the fuck is this ASAP nonsense that keeps getting spouted?! Why? Why do we have to know what Higdon is doing this week? Why do we have to sign a winger before July 1st? The season doesn't kick off until mid August. The transfer window is open until September 1st. We don't pay transfer fees so we can still pick up out of contract players once the dust has settled and the windows has shut. Stuart McCall has proven he deserves a bit of faith from us when it comes to signing players so how about some of you panty-wetters shut the fuck up and just trust him to get on with it. Honest to fuck, some people need to go outside and experience the world around them and never go near a keyboard until September at least.

Thanks for clarifying who this Clarkson fella is.
-
His corner kicks are infuriating, but the grief Hateley has taken on here is bordering on embarrassing! Higdon and Faddy being given ultimatums? We don't need Higdon next season? The best team we've had in, what, a generation? And still folk on here seem intent on chasing half the players away. Unreal.
-
There is some staggering amount of pish uttered by folk on here.
