    Well Shop Mega Sale

Ooh, tempting. For those who do have the home and away tops, would anyone mind confirming if the sizes are similar to other tops they have? In other words, you don't need to order a size up or anything, do you?

    Now Murphy Is Away

He'll be back within two years, I reckon...
  3. Who is going to pay a fee for a player deemed not good enough for a place in Motherwell's defensive line and who has only months left of his contract to run?
  4. Henrik maybe shouldn't have tweeted it, but I fully agree with the sentiment behind it. For his own sake, I really hope someone pulls Hateley aside and tells him to leave the dead-ball kicks alone for a while. I don't fault him in the slightest for missing the penalty today. However, his set-piece kicks have been chronically poor. It's understandable that these will colour people's opinions of him. It sounds like he had a good game today but the focus is on the penalty. Let someone else take corners, etc for a while and then, if he continues to play as well as he apparently did today, he might actually earn some praise on here.

    Now Murphy Is Away

How much did we accept when Blackpool tried to sign him last year?
  6. With only 6 months on his contract, we were never going to get more than £100k. However, the add-ons could be key. Hopefully, they include a hefty sell-on clause. Then, in a couple of years time, depending on whether he's a success or not, I reckon we'll either earn a decent wee sum from his next transfer or see Jamie return to Fir Park for free.
  7. Just seen the goals on SSN. Frightening how much space and time given for both crosses into our box.
  8. Genuinely, I'd love to know how many people don't want to go regularly to Fir Park because they don't want to sit in an abusive and apathetic atmosphere...
  9. Agreed. I barely read the Club Chat section any more. It doesn't seem to matter if we win or lose, it's just full of ridiculous negativity. People come back with claims that they're entitled to criticise and don't want to be happy-clappy. Fair enough. However, the scale of the criticism is truly incredible, especially when stock is taken over our current position in the league. I used to enjoy MJC's posts and couldn't understand why some people became so wound up by him. No-one wants to read pages of blind optimism and I thought he (I assume he?) was a voice of realism more often than not. However, as has been alluded to by others, he has become a cliche of himself, fuelled by the reactions of others. He's become a minor celebrity, perhaps in his mind at least, for airing outrageous views. Then you've got others, such as Dewell, who seem to have no consideration for the situation and economic climate that we find ourselves in. Comparisons with managers even as recent as McGhee are completely irrelevant as McCall doesn't have the privilege of having John Boyle personally funding a key signing or two. Budgets have been slashed, key players have left us, we have to field inexperienced youngsters in our defensive line - and yet we're still in the top six of the league. Look, the fear we showed at Ibrox this season was truly embarrassing. Losing to Aberdeen this week was a bitter pill to swallow. Hateley's inability to take a half-accurate corner kick is infuriating. The fact that no-one's replaced him as a set-piece taker is baffling. No-one is suggesting there aren't things to discuss, debate and complain about. However, the bile and bullshit that is posted on here is so over the top that maybe some people should be banned from posting. Some people shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a keyboard. Oh, and to compare an unofficial Motherwell FC supporters message board to the Nazi regime in Germany might possibly be the most ridiculous and ill-advised comment I've ever seen on here.
  10. And we replace them with who exactly?
  11. No point in commenting on these forums either then...
  12. Pity the replays were scheduled on the same week as Sky showing Carling Cup games.
  13. I don't disagree with your comments on Kenneth and Diamond. In fact, I'd say you were being generous in your description! Personally, I wouldn't class Webster as being anywhere near as poor as those two - but hey, I'm maybe totally wrong. He's vastly experienced compared to our current set of centre-backs and an older, wiser head is something I feel we're badly needing. Anyway, it's a moot point. We won't be signing him or anyone else from Hearts any time soon.
  14. I agree there's absolutely no way we could afford him. However, for anyone to suggest they'd turn down a very experienced centre-back at SPL and international level when all of our current central defenders are very young and extremely inexperienced beggars belief.
  15. I realise I'll be in the vast minority but, living and working in the city, this game means more to me than our League Cup tie against Sevco. There's none more arrogantly deluded than a Dons fan.

    V Dundee United

Aberdeen losing at home and us winning away is the perfect day for me no matter what the table looks like. Looking forward to going into work tomorrow now!

    V Dundee United

4-5 for the good guys. A fairly even first half will see both teams attacking each other with verve and flair. United will go in 3-1 up due to more clinical finishing from them and a clear penalty for us being denied. The second half will begin with two quick-fire goals for us to bring us level. The crowd will be enthralled by the end-to-end action as both teams throw caution to the wind and search for the winning goal. United will score in the 85th minute to think they have sealed the win. Omar Daley will fire in two injury time goals to complete his hat-trick and a famous comeback to send the away fans home happy.
  18. Then can we please get someone else to take set-pieces? At least find someone else to take a corner kick. I'll be honest, I've found myself raging at Hateley simply for his dead-ball deliveries which have clouded my judgement on his actual performance in the position he is playing. Maybe others hold a similar opinion? Instead of recognising him as a consistent and reliable right-back, I can't help but view him as the fucker who can't even land the ball in the box from a corner kick!
  19. Just to be clear, that's not me being referred to... This thread is utterly ridiculous. Whenever Higdon has a bad game (let's not pretend that he doesn't have bad games) people like Steelboy will bump it to validate their disapproval of him. Whenever Higdon has a good game (or a GREAT game, like today) people will bump it to try and prove the likes of Steelboy wrong. Neither side is going to concede anything. For what it's worth, I can't even begin to fathom the scale of the criticism that Higdon receives. Does he have his faults? Clearly so. Is he better than Porter or Jutkiewicz? Probably not. However, he's a consistent goalscorer who never hides and few defenders will enjoy playing against him. The desire to say "I told you so" is pathetic - particularly when it coincides with a Motherwell defeat or poor team performance. He's one of our players. By all means, comment on a poor performance but, FFS, can we not just get behind him?!
  20. Right now, I just want the easiest draw possible to ensure progress to the next round.
