  1. According to the link in the article on the official website, we can "PRE ORDER YOUR 2012/2013 MOTHERWELL THIRD KID NOW" Sounds more like something Madonna or Angelina Jolie would do... As for the strip, I'm afraid I'm in the minority and find it pretty disappointing.
  2. The players that turned out for Hearts and Hibs in the cup final last week aren't of the standard they had a few years ago. Do you think that mattered to either set of fans in the build up to the game? Fans support their clubs, not the players.
  3. Check the previous pages of this thread...
  4. I was only a wee boy then. I remember checking teletext to see what the full-time score was. I'd never heard of the away goals rule and was gutted when my mum (I think) explained it to me. I went to bed in a right sulk!
  5. For all the shite some of our players and staff have had to listen to during this season, I hope the final game of the season is a true celebration that recognises their achievements this season.

    The Run In...

I can't believe how much people are underestimating St Johnstone...
  7. Someone outspoken who'd give Jim Spence an exclusive? Yeah, I'd put money on it being Thompson.

Got to agree with Craggs there, today's results make tomorrow even more important. Let's get the three points tomorrow and go into the split with a big cushion, full of confidence.

I'd rather cheer on one of the Old Firm than Aberdeen, but needs must. Brilliant score coming through from Pittodrie at the moment...
  10. It's not jammy if we allow a bloody throw-in to bounce all the way into our six yard box. It's just dire.
  11. According to SSN: Randolph Hateley Hutch Clancy Hammell Humphrey Jennings Lasley Law Higdon Ojamaa
  12. The reason I'm so bitterly disappointed is that a win today could have had a huge psychological effect for the rest of the season. The chance to take 2nd place? We didn't. Will that shake our confidence? Overtaking Rangers? We didn't. Rangers might have been shaken, but they won't be now. Keeping the huge gap between us and the rest? We didn't. We've still a decent gap, and it's still ours to throw away, but Dundee United and St Johnstone know they can catch us.
  13. Seems like a pretty healthy debate to me so far, with no petty name-calling or abuse thrown, and what I thought was the whole point of these forums. I'll be happy if Page plays and we win the game and I'm sure David would be happy if Page doesn't play and we win the game. So them having ONE bad game has to be recognised - but you'd ignore SEVERAL good games that occurred before the Aberdeen game? Also, am I not right in saying Page played the majority of that game against Aberdeen? Hutch came off after 28 minutes when we were only 1-0 down. Is he not as culpable as anyone for their second goal? Does THAT not have to be recognised? No-one is saying Page should never be allowed in the first team. I just genuinely can't compute how you think it's not fair to drop Page after playing ONE good game but have no problem dropping Hutch and Clancy who have been our defensive pairing for the run of games that took us back up challenging for 2nd place again. How is THAT fair?!
  14. So every time a player has one good game they get to play the next, no matter who is available? You realise you would never play the same XI in an entire season that way? What have Hutchison or Clancy done to deserve being dropped exactly? To turn your argument around, if either are going to be dropped due to a perennial benchwarmer having one good game, what's the point? I'm sorry, but there's not a chance in hell I'd leave players like Randolph, Hutchison or Ojamaa out in favour of a Hollis, Page or McHugh. Not unless they'd suffered a dip in form and DESERVED to be dropped first.
  15. Oh, and yes it is a cup final. Maybe not literally but, in terms of importance, we have another eight cup finals ahead of us.
  16. So if Ojamaa misses the Kilmarnock game due to a minor injury and Higdon and McHugh both score in a 2-0 win, you'd be happy for Ojamaa to sit on the bench for the next few games? If Randolph was suspended for the Killie game and Hollis kept a clean sheet after a few cracking saves, you'd be happy for Randolph to sitting on the bench as we chase 2nd place?
  17. Let me put it another way: if the game against Kilmarnock was a cup final, who would you pick to play in defence?
  18. I don't. I expect him to return to the bench. That wasn't my point anyway. I'm happy enough for him to get the nod on Saturday and I hope he plays a blinder. My issue is with people seeing him as the new Messiah after one good performance and people seeing him as not worthy of a contract after only a handful of poor performances. Those who wanted Page punted after the cup game against Aberdeen were proved hasty after the league game. But surely, by the same token, there's exactly the same chance that those praising him to the heavens after the league game could be proved to be hasty too? I don't think he's proved anything yet because he hasn't played enough games to properly judge him. At this key stage of the season, I'd rather rely on a (relatively) more established partnership in Hutchy and Clancy.
  19. Knee-jerk-itis strikes again. Page, who just days ago was never a top-flight defender and who should in no way be given a new contract, now needs to remain at the heart of our defence, ahead of people who have proved themselves over a number of games, because of one impressive performance.
  20. I hope they turn up still pished from their celebrations...
  21. That's the point right there. Craigan has slipped quickly down the pecking order but his experience, even if it's not on the field, isn't necessarily something I'd happily allow to disappear.
  22. No problem with rewarding Humphrey after a decent few showings. It's important to keep a balance. We don't want to just play the same XI no matter how poor they play, but we don't want to be chopping and changing after every 90 minutes either.
