Who takes on players who can't get in to a Motherwell XI?

I've seen it all now when we can win a cup tie 4-0 and yet the majority of posts are negative. I don't care what the 'gulf' is, it's a cup competition and we've been humbled many times in the past before. It's all about the win as far as I'm concerned.

The stick MJC gets on here is ridiculous. Just saying. Great result today! Don't give a shit about the performance! We're through!

For me, Reynolds was (and apparently still is) by far the most overrated Motherwell player of the last five years at least. Before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, don't mistake the word 'overrated' with 'worst'.

Cards on the table, I haven't got a clue where we'll finish in the league - but between now and May there'll be some ridiculously stupid over-reactions to both victories and defeats on this forum.

Purely based on our home form, I'd be happy with a point. I'll be fucking ecstatic if we take all three, mind.

I'm not going to get excited about Europe until February the 1st. By that time, we'll be well into the second half of the season. More importantly, the transfer window will be slammed (isn't it always?) shut. We are performing amazingly well so far. However, the flip side is that bigger clubs will be alerted to our quality players. If we keep our squad together, then yes, time to get the passports looked out again! If we lose two or three key players? Well...

Running round my granda's garden pretending I was Dougie Arnott in my full Motherwell kit that Santa brought me, I've been a 'Well fan ever since. I was always the odd one out at school.

See all this love for Stephen Hughes, is this based on any recent performances in the last season or two? Or are people just assuming he's the same player as he was way back in his first spell with us?

Amen to that! Totally agree.

I'm not saying we can't win. I just don't think we will. I would hope that the team believe they can win and I would hope that our fans turn out in numbers and support the players from the first minute to the last. I would hope that Higdon doesn't get abuse by his own supporters. I'm just saying we don't always get what we want. I'm not trying to 'pop' anyone's balloon. This is the greatest season we have had for a generation. We should be celebrating that fact. We should be pinching ourselves at how good things are going. I think Celtic are a better team than us. I would love to be proved wrong, not just next week but in the season overall. I don't want to get carried away by our start to the season. I'd rather just enjoy it.

0-3 to Celtic. Negative rep if you like, I'll be too busy celebrating such a terrific result today. To come back and win away at ICT is a tremendous result for Motherwell FC, wherever we are in the league. Games against the Old Firm shouldn't bring any expectations.

I'm honestly not trying to be wise after the event, but I don't like the idea of shuffling three players about just to accomodate one change. Midfielder out, then a midfileder in.
