No worries. I don't think it was going in anyway.
-
Hardly his fault!
-
Did you have the majority of the East Stand screaming abuse at you at the time?
-
Can you blame him?
-
Bloody ref wasn't going to give that penalty! Well done linesman!
-
Not giving the advantage there was a total disgrace. Then the ref tried to give Celtic a corner - thankfully the linesman corrected him. Not wanting to sound paranoid, but there seems to be good cause to suggest that the referee is going to give a major decision against us. Odds on a Celtic penalty?

Living and working in Aberdeen, this MORE than makes up for Saturday!

How long left?!

You just know what's going to happen now...

Thought I was more famous and worthy of comment!

Not sure who the Stuart you're referring to is but, just on the 1% chance that it's me, I agree with every single word of your post there.
-
We have a winner!
-
Are they definitely? (That's a genuine question, by the way)

a) Because we can't afford to spend money on players. b) No, it's just that we can't afford to spend money on players. c) He's still here because we can't afford to spend money on players to replace him.

Then your suggestions are completely and utterly wrong. I never yet said only positive and enthusiastic users should post on the forum. Why do people always take things to such extremes on this place? A goal conceded and the defender responsible should be dropped forever; a narrow defeat and it means we're in a relegation fight; I suggest one member of these forums stops continually (it's in bold this time so others can see it) saying that he's not interested and suddenly I'm saying no-one should ever post anything negative on this site ever again! Yes, of course Melvin's entitled to be apathetic at the moment. You, star sail, are also entitled to be disinterested too. If you care to look at the thread I started in 'Other Football' about the creation of SPLTV, you'd see that I wouldn't pay for a channel showing SPL football because I'm scunnered with many aspects of the game up here too. I don't agree that Motherwell FC are "turning us away". That is simply the choice of the individual fan. However, where have I said anything remotely like the "spiralling" of Motherwell Football Club or Scottish Football is not worthy of comment on these forums?! Of course they are worthy! They are extremely serious issues. However, there are numerous threads where people are commenting on them - including Melvin Bragg. I'm more than happy with that. I took exception to Melvin Bragg feeling the need to come on this particular thread, which is all about the semi final, to say...he's not interested in the semi-final. That seemed peculiar to me. What was bemusing to me was Melvin Bragg's response to Jay about certain people belonging to a "holier than thou" brigade. That seemed quite an over-the-top reaction. Melvin's entitled not to care about the semi-final, but Jay suggesting it's wrong that people only want to go and support Motherwell if we're likely to win (I'm not saying that's the case with Melvin Bragg, before I get wrongly accused again) is a valid point and certainly not worthy of labelling him as being "holier than thou". So, to be clear: I have no problem with Melvin Bragg. I have no problem with him being disinterested. I had a problem with the amount of times he felt the need to point it out in different threads. I do think people's complaints are worthy of comment. I don't think only positive people should post on here. Oh, and just in case you're final comment was directed at me - I never said you're not a real fan, I've never taken Prozac before, and I'm certainly no pup. I'm sorry, this has gone way off-topic but I felt I needed to defend myself there. We are all supporters of Motherwell FC. We are all entitled to have different opinions. But we are in the semi-final of a major domestic trophy. We are going to play at Hampden. These things don't happen very often. Let's, please, for the next 17 hours or so, appreciate that fact and support the team tomorrow (whether in Hampden, the pub, in front of the TV at home, or somewhere in the back of your mind because you're not actually following the game because you're not interested). Then come 4.50pm, threads can be started telling McCall to get to fuck, that Craigan should be dropped and that Hateley is never a midfielder...
-
I'll bite then... Right, you've made your point. You're not interested. You weren't interested in us making Europe at Ross County's expense; you aren't interested in us making Europe this season; you aren't interested in going to the Semi-Final; you don't feel like going into the football anymore. We get it. You're apathetic towards Motherwell FC at the moment. Is there a reason why you need to continually post it? If you're apathetic towards the football, I don't understand why you want to continually post about it on a Motherwell fans' forum. Feel free to try and turn my post into a "you're-just-another-one-of-the-holier-than-thou-brigade" if you want. I don't care. I usually enjoy your contributions to these forums. I actually think you come across as very intelligent and thought-provoking at times. However, please give it a rest with the "I'm not interested" posts. Are you wanting folk to beg you to come back or something?!

Good. If the height of a player's ambition is to play at Fir Park, they shouldn't even be entertained.
-
And yet, when he has a couple of bad games in a row, there will be a thread started telling him to 'get to fuck'...
-
Fucking disgusting lunge by Griffiths! He should be hammered by the SFA - a proper lengthy ban.
-
lol, that attempt at a cross from Hateley was probably the worst I've ever seen!
-
My first two paragraphs are talking about an SPL2. I was talking about the dangers of having a large second division. You don't agree with a large second division being dangerous?
-
Erm, fancy explaining what you don't agree with? I never said anything about our chances of being relegated in a 10 team league compared to a 16 team league? Nor did I say that any relegation into a lower league would not be financially disastrous for us. And anyway, (and I'm not just directing this at you personally, nethertonwellfan) is it not a bit hypocritical of Motherwell fans to be claiming for a league structure to suit our club, when we chastise the Old Firm for trying to structure things just to suit themselves?
-
Personally, I cannot fathom why people are calling for a 16, 18, 22 team SPL2. Look at the clubs that would be in that division: Montrose, Forfar, Brechin, Peterhead, etc. A team such as ourselves relegated into such a league may well face fatal consequences. That's the point Doncaster is making and I have to agree with him. Romantics are saying they'd love a change of scenery but that should be saved for cup competitions only. Looking at attendance figures for this season, there are only 23 clubs who average more than 1,000! So, if we have a top flight of 16 or 18, the division below will have games played in front of crowds in their hundreds. I want a refreshing 16 or 18 team top-flight as much as the next guy, but it's what comes below that is what worries me. I think the best compromise would be an SPL1 of 16 teams and an SPL of only 10. Below that, a regional pyramid system.
-
Exactly! The league could change to 10, 14, 18, 68, however many number of teams you want, the TV deal on offer will not double Motherwell's income. Not even close.
