  1. Someone's obviously told him the 20-30 year old females are better looking up here. Man, he's in for a disappointment... Can't believe I'm going into work to face all the smugness again. If any of my pupils even smile at me tomorrow, they're getting excluded.

    Craig Brown Statement

I'd laugh, but the situation is far from funny. If Brown has indeed left, I think this is far worse than McGhee's final few months. What a bloody disgrace. Not that I give two shits about any Aberdeen fan, but how can they possibly welcome such a lying hypocrite as their new manager, who clearly only says what other people want to hear to make himself sound good?
  3. Could someone explain to me how it's only "idiots" who can (seriously) injure themselves in this weather?
  4. Leeann Dempster on Sky Sports News there. Sounds like the club did everything they could and acted very professionally throughout. As for the United v Rangers game, again the pitch was playable but the ref was snowed in and the police couldn't get to the ground. Everyone interviewed accepted that the right decision was made. I understand that it's frustrating that our game is off. But seriously, for once, can we not as a fan base just accept some bad news without moaning and greeting about it?
  5. All these folk moaning about the roads and streets - you do realise there is a recession going on, yes? You do realise budgets have been cut and that means less money that councils can devote to winter preparation? I broke my shoulder slipping on an untreated pavement right outside a school. That was an accident, that's the end of it. However, there's plenty other people in this compensation climate that we live in would be suing for thousands for any accident that occurred because of the ice or snow. I don't blame the police for trying to prevent people from converging in and around the Fir Park area.
  6. Possibly the most embarrassing factor in all this (and that's saying something) is that the incoming foreign referees had no idea about the 'strike' action being taken by our refs. Top-light referees refusing to officiate matches is a major incident that I would have assumed been newsworthy across Europe. But apparently, no-one outside of these shores cares enough about Scottish football for this to even be mentioned. Just emphasises how insignificant and worthless our country's football has become.

    Cup Penalties

Great question! Obviously depends on who is on the field at the time. All 3 subs, I assume, would have been used so players like Sutton, Casagolda and Forbes may well be on the pitch. Therefore, I'd go with: 1. Sutton 2. Forbes 3. Casagolda 4. Hateley 5. Hammell
  8. You do see the hypocrisy in your own post, don't you? You complained that the original poster's point was being ignored by 'Well fans trying to make fun of him instead, yet no-one, including both you and I, in the last few posts are even discussing the stewards. To defend Gaag, people hijacked this thread to complain about the forum. As administrator, he is more than entitled to attempt to defend it. A poster stated an instance of when he was, in his own words, "abused". Gaag decided to investigate (which any good admin/mod should do) the claim. He failed to see any "abuse" so asked the accuser to justify his claims. I don't see any issue with that. I accept that I may have appeared a bit of a cock for my initial response back on page 1. I would argue, in my defence, that as an English teacher (genuinely) that it's very difficult for me to ignore such a misuse of our language. I'm not being pretentious - I happily use text speak when, well, texting. And then, I only use it in texts to people I know will be able to understand it. Yes, it would've taken two minutes to PM the original poster to inform him of the error of his/her ways. Yet, it would've taken him/her two minutes to consider that the majority of users on here do not use text language and a significant proportion would not be able to read it. (It would also only take two minutes for Gaag to put something about text language in the rules... ) So, yeah, the stewards and their policies - what are we going to do about them?
  9. As an English teacher, I wholeheartedly agree with you, bigshinyhead! Dee, you are right that there is too much slagging and bitching on here. You're correct when you suggest that we should unite together as a fan base and work together in dealing with issues such as hyper-sensitive stewarding. However, the original poster cannot possibly expect to be taken seriously when communicating in the way he does.
  10. wtf m8 ths stewart is awsum.
  11. Gaag, y hav u let a hing like ths in?
  12. As far as I'm concerned, this is the best possible draw. Rangers are the toughest team by far still in the competition. If they were to put us out, I'd rather it be in a semi-final than a final. The 5-1 Final loss was heart-breaking. If the miracle was to happen and we actually reached the final, we'd be facing either Aberdeen or Celtic and be going into it with a lot more confidence/expectation.
  13. It doesn't matter how many teams are in the league - it won't make any significant difference to attendances.
  14. Come on Motherwell, let's give ourselves a cushion...
  15. Choosing us winning a cup final or playing in the Europa League after finishing third has nothing to being "bored of Europe" though, has it? Of course we'd all choose to see us lift the Scottish Cup. However, we've done it once in FIFTY years. It's not exactly a probability that we'll win a cup this year, but we DO have a good chance to finish third in the league. Are you honestly saying you would be indifferent if, at the end of the season, we finish third but went out in the quarter finals of both domestic cups?

Humphries should have a should - he's been ammence!
  18. Am I the only one who is now listening to the Celtic game instead of getting a half-time analysis of our game?
  19. You're always worried though! I understand what you are saying, but I honestly don't think we are the worst team in the SPL this year. Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Hamilton look to be VERY poor teams this year. I don't think we'd ever see ourselves cast adrift of those three as they will struggle to amass points themselves. I totally agree that our league position would suffer as a result of qualifying for the group stages. However, for one season, as something new and exciting, I'd happily take 11th place right now if it meant we qualified for the group stages and gave our fans more adventures abroad that they will cherish for many years to come. Therefore, I'm all for mixing things up with today's selection. I wouldn't change the keeper or back 4, as they will need to play as a unit on Thursday. There's no need to rest Jennings as he'll be suspended. Some of the fringe players, especially new signings could be given a start instead. Something like: ----------------------Randolph---------------------- Saunders-----Reynolds-----Craigan-----Hammell --------Jennings-----Forbes-----Fitzpatrick-------- ------Blackman-----McHugh-----Casagolda-------
