Cheeky upstarts stealing your thunder? ; )

Aye, if we lose this must not lose game then Armageddon will ensue...

If we start picking players based on the reaction they'll get on here, we won't even be able to field a five-a-side team...

I think I've just twigged what's going on with Ya Bezzer... -
I've got to say I don't really get this 'season hasn't even started yet' chat which both our manager and folk on here seem to be putting out. Since when could we afford to treat a domestic cup competition with such nonchalance? The season has started because we are playing competitive games. Mentally and physically, we should be prepared and ready for these games. Please don't confuse that with thinking that we should have a team of new signings all gelled and we should be playing silky football. I'm not suggesting that for a second. However, it sits uncomfortably with me that some people think of these games as pre-season friendlies. Back to the game itself, I'm just relieved that we won. The result is all that matters. That said, had we drawn or lost it would have been fairly embarrassing. Considering the struggles other Premiership clubs are having and considering our results against Morton and Berwick, I'm willing to put this game into context and just be pleased with the three points.

Never mind fannying about with a celebration...get the ball out of the net and get going again!

Would people be willing to go with the squad we've got just now and wait for a loan signing or two from a top English club. say, in late August / September?
-
It's all relative, I suppose, but I wouldn't underestimate Aberdeen's finances at the moment.

We can't even get Scottish teams to still be in a European competition in August. Why are people even discussing Scottish teams in Europe after Christmas? If our Scottish performances in Europe alone is the factor in deciding when the season starts and finishes, why not start the season in June and finish in March?

He also wants Eric Cantona to get him a contact with Man United's under-21s. We'd better move fast...
-
No, I wasn't suggesting that you were criticising his height. Like capt_oats, I'm simply recalling the obsession people had with "Midget" Dan's height and expecting a similar response again.

Poor guy's going to be doomed to eternal criticism if he does sign then...

Perhaps the biggest anticlimax in the history of these forums...

Considering Motherwell, Hamilton and Inverness can barely win a game between them, irrespective of where it is or who it's against, I'm not really understanding the concern over home or away fixtures. It's not like any ground, including our own, is a fortress that offers a significant advantage.

Inverness really are just a feeder club for Aberdeen these days...

Genuine question: were you at the game today? -
The apparent leaks don't show the club in a very good light at all. People knew McGhee was getting sacked before he did? Coyle is the man the club really wanted and Robinson was just a second choice? If true, these sort of things shouldn't be coming out in public so quickly and easily. People complain about the board being amateurish and I usually completely disagree but not in this case...

Look, I know no one else cares but can someone please give 'robinson' a capital 'R' in the thread title? EDIT: Thanks, Andy.
-
I agree. ...but we live in a world of snowflakes and entitlement these days. Good luck to him.
-
Eh? Postiejim for a start saying that we can forget Robinson and that he's failed...a conversation you were a part of. Unless you're being pedantically literal because the word "sacked" wasn't included? Fine, I'll replace it with "Robinson should be sacked shouldn't be kept on because we lost an injury-time goal away to a team 2nd in the league with double our points total?" Sorry, still sounds laughably ridiculous to me.
