  1. Because Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Real Madrid et al have never conceded a goal in injury time, right? In any game, in any country, if a team of any size loses an injury time goal, you're going to say they're "unprofessional"? I get that an injury time goal hurts like hell as a fan. I accept that we have lost more than our fair share of late goals this season. However, in terms of defensive discipline, I don't understand how you can castigate a patched up defence as "unprofessional" having held firm for 90 minutes against a superior team who battered seven goals past us just a few weeks ago.
  2. People honestly believe someone pitting their wits against Mourinho and Wenger last season will see their next career move as the Fir Park hotseat? Robinson should be sacked because we lost an injury-time goal away to a team 2nd in the league with double our points total? This place is comedy gold sometimes.
  3. Pleased for Jules considering he's never going to have a career as a professional footballer at any level, based on the comments on here. It's good he'll at least have this memory to look back on when he signs on the dole in the summer.
  4. I know you're joking and it's not relevant to this topic in the slightest but that comment far more accurate than you'd dare to think. Scotland's education system is in a worse state than Motherwell's defence.
  5. We can't agree whether a tackle (any of the examples in this thread) deserves a red. The refs can't agree whether a tackle is a red. End of thread.
  6. ...which is both piss poor and amateurish.
  7. Milo with Dewell as assistant. Kmcalpin as physio and Steelboy as nutritionist. CMWellfan as international scout.
  8. This thread is still at it, weeks later. For what it's worth, I still think Bowman's 'tackle' was a high, studs-up challenge that was dangerous. Whether Tierney had control of the ball, whether the ball was in the air, whether the ball was there to be won, whether Bowman caught the ball on the way, whether other players complained or not, are all irrelevant because not a single one of those factors change the speed, height or angle of Bowman's studs-up leg.
  9. Just watching Sportscene and that was a shocker from Bowman. A clear red card.
  10. Samson Heneghan / McManus / Jules Cadden / Lasley / McHugh / Clay / Pearson McDonald / Moult
  11. I'd be willing to bet that the SFA don't know either...
  12. White is a strange choice of kit to wear when you know you're prone to shiting yourself...
  13. So, McGhee fucked up by not giving an under 20 player a chance but fucked up by giving an under 20 player a chance instead? Right you are then...

Very sad news. Condolences to all friends and family.
  15. Going off topic, sorry, but that comment could be levelled at so many Scottish players in recent times. Faddy, Naismith, Maloney and so on... and that's just at international level. Good players, good 'forwards' but not clinical or physical enough to be a striker, not creative enough to be a 'number 10', not fast enough or a good enough crosser to play on the wing... We don't seem to be able to produce players who are experts in a specific position. We just have players who can kind of play a number of positions. Is that fair or am I talking shite again?

Genuine question: were you at the game?

Heneghan was head and shoulders (literally) above anyone else. Considering the criticism he gets on here, I was pleasantly surprised at how well Lasley was playing before he was substituted.

    2016/17 Ins & Outs

How many pints of whisky were swallowed before that 'sentence' was uttered? Back on topic... It's great to see some new signings. They're all young with potential to perform and potential to be sold for profit.
  19. Even if the clubs did go, the media will still devote 95% of their content towards them and we'll still have people all over Scotland, from the Highlands and Islands to the Borders, supporting them and spouting their rhetoric. You're not going to see attendances suddenly increase dramatically for the remaining clubs. An SPFL without the Old Firm in itself wouldn't make any positive difference to our game, initially, because those in charge have proven that they only know how to pander to the demands of Rangers and Celtic. Do we honestly believe a new SPFL with the likes of Stewart Milne and Neil Doncaster in charge would be revitalised, innovative and forward-thinking? I truly hope and prey that the Old Firm leave Scottish football forever. However, all that would do is offer an opportunity for change. If and when that day comes, it's the responsibility of every fan of every club remaining to make sure that the total root-and-branch reforms are brought in for the good of the game. Then, five, ten, twenty years down the line, if the SPFL actually prospers, we might start to see a new generation of fans being drawn to the positivity of Scottish football and truly shunning the darkness of the Old Firm.
  20. Wouldn't it be much better if the prices were significantly reduced so that shirts were far more affordable and then it wouldn't matter if a new one came out every season?
