  1. Hopefully. He's a God awful 'journalist'.
  2. Also, I'd question people's definition of "need"...
  3. An English Premier League club signing a Motherwell player. ...for a seven figure fee.
  4. Chances of us actually playing a 4-4-2 formation?
  5. Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of the protest, if you can't see the problem of alienating a large section of your fellow Motherwell fans, a number of whom help to contribute to your group financially, whilst sympathising with a horde of people who have, at best, a sketchy reputation based on political leanings and vandalism of Fir Park, then it really isn't worth continuing this discussion.

    Mark McGhee

Even McGhee's ego isn't big enough to think he'd be welcome back as Aberdeen manager.
  7. Two things are becoming very clear from this thread: 1. No one has a clue who the next manager will be. 2. Whoever is appointed, even before his very first game in charge, a section of the 'support' will already have said "No thanks" or "Not for me" and will have decided he is doomed to fail.
  8. I'm sure McGhee has missed all the fans who sang that he's a paedophile...
  9. Fair enough. I was unaware of most of those results and can't argue against them. I just found it uncomfortable to be hearing a potential Motherwell manager referring to Rangers as being a better team right now than Motherwell, and almost every other Premier League team. Especially when it was just two days after Rangers were comfortably beaten by St Johnstone.
  10. ...whilst also bumming up Rangers as a better team right now than the entire top flight bar Celtic. I don't want to go back to the days of a Motherwell manager fawning over the Old Firm to the point that we'd be as well not turning up.
  11. It amuses me that Baraclough was criticised for not knowing what formation or starting eleven to play from the squad... ...then I read the myriad of apparent correct choices in this thread.
  12. Close the thread. There is nothing that can be added that makes any more sense than this.
  13. Whoever it is, when he gets to bring in all the players he wants, we'll have some size of a squad!
  14. Cringe. Told you I was throwing something different out there! That's why I'm not a maths teacher...
  15. Is three at the back an option? Ripley Laing McManus Kennedy Law Chalmers Grimshaw Lasley Taylor McDonald Moult Robinson Just throwing something different out there...that I clearly can't count.
  16. When you've got fans who respond to the signing like this, you really must wonder what the point is sometimes... FWIW, I've found this to be yet another exciting signing. Even Sir Alex and Wenger made signings that were complete duds so I'm sure no-one was deluded enough to expect Baraclough to be 100% with his picks. However, I'm delighted that we haven't simply recycled SPFL journeymen. There is an element of potential and the excitement of the unknown in almost every new signing. Irrespective of league placing, I'm excited by how all of these signings will unfold. As a result, next summer's transfer window could be exciting in terms of the transfer fees that we recoup.
  17. ...which worked so well for Rangers...
  18. Beggars belief if we're signing another striker. I know some folk on here have decided some people's careers are over after literally a handful of games but I'd hope the manager, and the club, would have more sense. Where's the trust and faith in Fletcher, Moult, etc to bed themselves in and make a name for themselves?
  19. It's not just simply down to selection, though. Where's the communication? Where's the leader at the back? Who's screaming at Law to get back into position? If it's happening every time, it's not the just the manager who's at fault for not recognising it and taking steps to prevent it happening again.
  20. I genuinely don't want to sign anyone else. There is cover in every position in the first-team squad. Arguably, there's more competition for places this year than in two or three years. How good those players are is, quite clearly, up for debate but simply adding more new bodies isn't the fix-all answer. It's up to the players to perform. It's up to the manager to select the correct players for the correct tactics for each game.
