    Baraclough Out

Beyond staggering that professional footballers earning wages paid for by fans' money should be acting like that. Not getting into the bigger debate of how capable Baraclough is as a manager but it is the players who are solely culpable for what they deem appropriate behaviour. These are grown men, FFS; they don't need excuses made for them like they're little weans.
  2. At this rate, we'll need to field all three of them in goals if we're going to stay up...
  3. Surely they'd be more disappointed with not being in the starting XI...
  4. I don't know why you keep suggesting Aberdeen vs ICT/Ross County would be local or convenient for any set of fans...

And to tell them all they're CRAP!

    The Next 4 Games

Barraclough NEEDS to use Caps Lock for HIS next TEAM TALK.
  7. I thought you were referring to Pearson...
  8. The irony of posters on here thinking they have the credentials to judge Flow's credentials because he used to be a poster on here is delicious...
  9. Don't necessarily disagree with that. My point was that the manager AND the fans need to manage him properly. We've already seen Erwin getting pelters now when he was being touted as a player with great potential. Will always starting Thomas without protecting him really benefit all parties?
  10. I don't care. I'd rather read you telling it like it is. Go on, delight us all again with us with your "Thank fuck for that" response to Collum giving them a penalty and reducing us to ten men when we were at least looking to have a bit of a spark with Thomas running at them.
  11. Thomas has been great but please don't put the pressure of being some sort of saviour on his shoulders. Let's manage him right. The manager needs to pick and choose when to use him and when to protect him. The fans need to be fully supportive of him when he's showing form like this and when he has the inevitable drop in form as he's still a kid. Looks like we have a real player on our hands, someone who could be hugely valuable to us. We quite literally cannot afford to screw this one up.
  12. Which is why Scottish football continues to exist in the apathetic doldrums. When players don't even train hard enough to develop basic skills using both feet, the least they could do is ensure they are fit enough to display even a hint of athleticism and stamina. Scottish football needs a culture change. Literally, a culture change.
  13. I meant by the fans and folk on here.
  14. Will he be given that time though?
  15. For someone who can't attend many games at all, I've no idea how bad we actually were yesterday. I mean, I know we were thrashed 5-0. I know people were vehement in their criticism during and after the game yesterday. However, the posts aren't any different to any other match day thread, transfer thread, any other thread from the last few seasons. Seriously. Getting thrashed 5-0, I'd imagine the players deserve every ounce of condemnation and more. However, it all just merges into 'same old, same old' as far as I'm concerned. It's what I read every week on here and, while it still disappoints me, I've simply become used to it. I genuinely wonder if the players have that attitude too? Do they think "No matter how well we play or what results we can squeeze out, we'll still just get abuse from certain sections of our support?" Maybe not. I don't know. I'm just speculating. Back on topic, there is no way that we have the budget to release players early. We can't throw money away like that. From what I've read on here, every single players on our books is shite except for Henrik (and even then...). However, I'm looking to see over the next six months who can raise their game under Barraclough. I repeat "over the next six months" and not the last three games. I'm not saying he'll turn them all into star players but he might get one or two of them to buy into his philosophies and, in time, we'll have a good player who otherwise would have been punted by many on here.
  16. To have already been deemed a failure on the day he's appointed is a new low, even for this place. Good luck, Ian. You've already got a hard enough job getting a team low in confidence and bang out of form away from the relegation zone. You've also got to try and win over ignorant people who will never give you a chance and revel in every opportunity to highlight any mistakes. You could turn out to be the greatest manager we've ever had or worse than Maurice Malpas but, ultimately, you'll never be good enough in some people's eyes. I hope you are able to galvanise the players and enjoy nothing but success in your time at the club. We have a core of supporters truly worthy of the name and they will give you all the backing you deserve. It's a fresh start and an exciting new chapter about to begin. All the best!
  17. ...or let's not post shit just to get a reaction. Both are the same message. I fully agree with Superward by the way.
  18. Because you all running on to here at full-time to have a pop at those who complain about the negativity instead of discussing the game that you weren't even at is SO much better. Cheerio.

    Terry Butcher

What if he was brought back as a defensive coach?
  20. I don't get to many Motherwell games. I've not seen us once this season yet. John Sutton proved so many doubters wrong last season when he scored a significant amount of goals. This season, he appears to copping a fair amount of flak. As I don't see as much of our team as most of you do, I'm interested as to why this is. Is his general play worse than last year? Is he simply judged purely and solely on his goals scored (as opposed to his general team play)? Has his service diminished? Does he appear to have the same desire and hunger? Are the others around him not giving him enough support?
  21. We still needed to replace Hutch - a tiny squad like ours is never going to avoid injuries (as shown at the moment) so we need cover wherever possible.
  22. As long as he's not an ICT equivalent of steelboy, that sounds promising.
  23. Thanks for the information, as always, Well 4 Europe.
  24. Because steelboy did what he always does: he trolled and sadly, he's managed to get a number of 'bites'. Yet again, a thread is ruined. Rather than discuss the match, positively or negatively, we're subjected to two pages of drivel arguing over something he's posted. Yet again, the focus and spotlight shines on the troll instead of discussing Motherwell F.C. I mean, seriously, who Fucking cares what the definition of a shot on target is? I came to this thread to find out how my team played but it looks like it was naive of me to think that would happen. Sad times.
  25. Which is why he shouldn't be played in midfield.
