  1. Maybe Chris Long moaning at him for 90 mins could work! Not sure what Erwins contract situation is, but if we are looking for someone to hold up the ball and link up play we could do a lot worse.
  2. I think the problem with Hartley is that he is an old style blood and snotters centre half and was suited to the way we played before. He is far less comfortable with the ball at his feet and passing it out from the back as we do now. The injuries have taken out whatever pace he had left so he is left looking vulernable when pressed high one on one. He does however offer good experience and organisational skills and a serious goal threat at set pieces. Mugabi doesnt offer all of those things as yet so do you stick or twist?
  3. UBH for official club kit designer. Not seen a bad one yet!
  4. Surely that depends on what the CCTV actually shows and the arguments made in court. Why dont we all just wait and see what happens.
  5. Ive heavily criticised Seedorf in the past and was as frustrated as anyone last night with his performance. The one positive thing in his defence is that he is only 20. However, he needs to be showing some signs of improvement and at the moment there isnt much to support that.
  6. 1350 from a crowd of just over 2400....
  7. Agree with all of that. Campbell is a born leader and a very good footballer. The only thing that might hold him back from the very top level is his athleticism. He is probably one of the fittest guys at the club but he is just a little short of real pace for me to cut it in say the EPL. Cant wait to see a fit Turnbull and Polworth in same team providing passes for Long. We could tear a few teams apart.
  8. I like Long. He makes intelligent runs and took the second goal very well. But Campbell was our MoM tonight. He was the one digging in 2nd half when we were under pressure. His drive and determination are incredible. Leads by example.
  9. I dont think anyone is debating the financial sense in a young player moving on. Its whether you will develop better/more quickly as a footballer getting first team games under your belt rather than disappearing into someones development squad and hoping you can swim to the top. Young players like McKinstrey are different in that they moved before they were ready for first team football, so they were changing one youth set up for another. The fact that the majority of our fans never saw him play makes it natural that there isnt the same level of feeling towards him that there were about others. Conversely, you could also argue that someone like Cadden maybe stayed a season too long as his development had flatlined a little with us. Its a difficult balance to strike. Regardless of what happens, its nice to see the produce of our youth system getting plenty first team exposure. Long may it continue.
  10. Maybe have a few "trialists" for a week to see what they have to offer?
  11. It would seem crazy that Oxford would refuse to pay £600k for Cadden then 6 months later be willing to pay £1m for him. However, if they did, you would think it would strengthen the clubs position in chasing Columbus for the money due to us. Be interesting to see how this pans out.
  12. I have absolutely no issue with players doing whats best for themselves. We would all do the same. But sometimes being patient and not taking the first offer that comes your way can be more fruitful in the longer term. Look at John McGinn or even Andy Robertson. Moved to clubs in Scotland where they could develop and would get guaranteed first team games. Within 2-3 seasons they were in the Premiership earning megabucks. By all accounts James has the talent. It would be fantastic if he could develop and emulate those names.
  13. If money is your only goal then moving to the Championship is a no brainer. However, Lee Erwin is a great example of a boy that went too early and didnt develop as he might have. Get first team games under your belt and move as a first team pick. The money will always follow.
  14. Would be better staying and getting more first team football under his belt before he moves on. Wouldnt benefit him or the club to move too early. I cant see Bristol City throwing silly money at us either. More likely buying him as a development player.
  15. Randolph Kipre Gallagher Hutchison Hammell Ainsworth Lasley Turnbull Murphy Moult Higdon
  16. I think we should sign Tanner on a 1 game loan for the Dundee game!
  17. Such a frustrating performance and result. Sitting 4 points clear in 3rd going into the break would have been incredible. Should have been all the motivation the players needed. Slightly concerned that in games that teams are getting the better of us, we rarely turn it around tactically. The substitutions yesterday were baffling. Still, would have bitten your hand off for tgis position at the start of the season and would have been happy with 5 points from 9 on this run, so it would be churlish to complain to much. The good thing is that despite our current position we know there is still plenty of room for improvement. Here's hoping for a good window and the return of David Turnbull over the winter break!
  18. My location is showing outwith the UK so not sure why picture isnt working. Oh well. At least we are winning!
  19. Tried that but just gives me the commentary. Big PLAY button?
  20. If you are watching from outside UK how to you get pictures to come up. Currently in Norway and only getting sound....
  21. That was a seperate but no less embarassing incident for the stewards..
  22. As a support we will undoubtedly be criticised by the events in the aftermath of the 2nd goal where a significant number of fans spilled onto the pitch. Without looking to justify or minimise it, it really was just a moment of euphoric exhuberance involving our players and fans after winning the game in the dying seconds. No one got hurt, nothing got damaged, but ultimately you cant really be doing that and not expect there to be some fall out. As for events after the final whistle, that was a different matter entirely. The girl from our media team was justifiably trying to film our fans celebrations at the end and for some reason the stewards were trying to stop her. She gamefully carried on causing 2 of the stewards to physically man handle her out of the way. This resulted in one of our fans (male, but not a daft wee boy) to try and intervene and protect her. He was thereafter dragged to the ground by several stewards causing Alan Burrows to rush across to intervene. It was all totally unecessary as all the fans were safely back in the stand long before that and most were heading out towards their buses. I would hope the club will discuss and address this with County, although we will be on a fairly weak footing given the pitch incursion.
  23. I take it as a back handed compliment that they can actually be bothered talking about us in respect of a game they were'nt even playing in! Given the utter victim/seige mentality they now display as a support its rather ironic that its they who now look and sound like Celtic!
  24. Deco by a country mile. Simply magnificent from start to finish
