  1. So hard to chose today. Every single player gave everything they had. Thought even big Cedric was playing a blinder until he was mugged by Brown. Went for Main in the end just due to the sheer effort he put in leading the line closing players down and chasing lost causes.
  2. I think with Bowman up front you will get more goals out of Main. Similar to when he partnered Moult. His work rate and style will occupy opposition defenders more and hopefully create space for Main to take advantage of. Ciftci is a clever player with ability but I dont see much of a partnership forming with Main who has to do all the hard running with Ciftci alongside him.
  3. I have some sympathy towards the original post. There are quite a few referees in our league who are just as bad as Andrew Dallas who are not the son of Hugh. I also dont think Sundays game was the worst Ive seen him. I do think he was very inconsistent though. Like others have said Lafferty and Godhino should have both been booked early on and Adeou two footer on Main at the end is a shocker and should have been a straight red. Not his worst day at the office but unfortunately for him he will never be able to shake of his lineage and as a result poor performances will always draw more scrutiny than other refs.
  4. I think he just went from "no bad" to "pretty good"
  5. McHugh all day long. Best performance this season from him by a distance. Calm and composed. His distribution of the ball was excellent and what a strike to win it. Only blot on his copybook was a slightly rash challenge which got him booked but it would be churlish to hold that against him. Best of the rest was Alan Campbell with notable mentions for Curtis Main who ran himself into the ground.
  6. Really enjoyed that today. We were miles the better team in the first half. But for some dodgy refereeing and some poor decision making in the final third we could have had the game wrapped up by half time. The penalty in the 2nd half changed things and we were lucky to weather the storm for 25 mins or so. Robbos changes certainly got us back into the game and I thought we finished the last 10 mins the stronger team and what a goal to win it! Absolute scenes! A couple of observations. Lafferty fouled one of our players every time he went up for a high ball. He should have been carded early doors. The push in front of the dug outs was as ridiculous as it was unecessary. Despite our obvious flaws in possession of the ball at times, the mental strength of our team cannot be questioned. Days like today make all the hard times feel worth it.
  7. Absolutely zero snow on the ground down Ayrshire way. Its like living in another world! Really looking forward to this! COYW!
  8. I only got to vote for POTY. There was no seperate button for YPOTY? Went for Carson as he has been the best performer over the full season. Hartley and Moult were great first half of season. Young Campbell would be my choice for YPOTY. Love Cedric but he had some really patchy spells before the winter break.
  9. More than happy with how he has approached the job and how we are performing results wise. I would like us to be more attractive to watch at times, but, like others have said, its a good base to build from and Im sure Robbo is well aware of our limitations and will address them as soon as he can. Not sure if we can make top 6 now but I'll take another trip to Hampden though!
  10. Is it? Didnt realise that either. Goodstuff. Will save a long drive in advance of Hearts cup tie.
  11. The game will only be off if the pitch is unplayable or the roads and pavements outside the stadium are too dangerous to navigate safely. Not impossible but it would take a pretty severe weather event and bad timing for either to happen.
  12. Joe was from Glasgow. I dont believe he was brought up a Mothewell fan. Willie P definitely was as I believe was Ian St John. Ally Maxwell is another one that springs to mind . Despite being unpopular with the support, I think Brian Kerr was too.
  13. Absolutely not. If Motherwell FC ceased to exist I would be lost to the club game. I simply have no interest in following any other club. I live in Ayrshire now and I will always have a soft spot for Ayr and Killie but I dont have the emotional investment in them required to follow your team through thick and thin. I might go to the odd game but Id more likely find something else to do with my time and concentrate on following the national team.
  14. Why no Friday night game? Is that slot already filled on tv? Far preferable to Sat lunchtime or either of the Sunday slots.....
  15. Aye! No chance of the price dropping while we are still in the Scottish Cup!
  16. Good to see both Ayrshire teams doing well this season! Not being burdened with petty local rivalries its nice to see both my local teams on the up. Still be nice to win on Saturday though and enjoy the bragging rights that would come with it!
  17. Not a great fan of new kits every season but I dont buy many and unfortunately its the world we now live in. I suppose as long as it increases revenue available to the club then it would be chutlish to complain. I dont see any iconic kits being generated with such a quick turnover, unless we win something of course.....
  18. Our last 3 seasons cup draws East Fife (a) Morton (a) ICT (h) Celtic (a) Rangers (a) Ross County (a) Aberdeen (h) Rangers Celtic Hamilton (h) Dundee (a) Hearts (h)
  19. Sportscenes coverage of our game is an absolute joke. I have no issues with them choosing to headline other matches but the disparity in coverage is incredible. Almost no point watching it whatsoever. Even our Youtube highlights are better than their pitiful effort.
  20. I dont think we are a dirty team at all. We are combative sure, but its a physical contact sport. I dont think any of our players are prone to leave the boot in or commit cynical fouls. One or two may over commit at times (McHugh springs to mind) but not dirty.
  21. I second that....... Its a real shame younger fans dont have any footage to watch to allow them to compare. In my time he is our greatest ever player. No doubt folk who saw the 52 team or The Ancell Babes might disagree but out of the players mentioned he is the best left back by a distance.
  22. Robinson admitted himself he wasnt happy with the way we played so would expect him to be trying to improve our quality going forward. However, lets be realistic. We were on a rotten run. Just as winning becomes a habit. So does losing. We have stopped that rot, got 2 wins and 2 clean sheets on the bounce. Lets just be thankful for that and leave the manager to fix the problem he has already identified.
