  1. Im not naive enought to think choice of referee cant be important, but Bobby Madden was the referee in the play-off game at Ibrox. I dont recall too many bad decisions that night. We just battered them!
  2. Great press conference from Hartley and Robbo. This team is full of winners. With that mentality this team could go far.
  3. Great listen! Craggs is pure class. Motherwell Legend.
  4. Wasnt at the game. Null vote for me.
  5. Id rather keep Louis until the end of the season and let him go for free. Least we can do for a cup double winner!
  6. I agree wholeheartedly. Long time supporter of Bowman and really pleased to be proved right on that one. Id like to see Bigi being played further forward where his passing could play Moult and Bowman into scoring positions but that doesnt look like our gameplan at moment. Its very much a work in progress at the moment. Really looking forward to finding out how good this team can be once its had a chance to gel properly. Re Buff Martin, my recollection is we bought him as a midfielder and he sucked there! It wasnt until he was moved back to centre half that he found his feet and his best position.
  7. Why dont we all try and drum up support and try and drag folk with us that wouldnt normally attend. Its a big occasion at the national stadium. If every season ticket holder can bring one other person we get 8000 fans there. We all have family, friends, lapsed fans we know who have an interest in affection for Motherwell. I realise its not cheap but lets get as many bums on seats as possible.
  8. I think Bigi looks as if he is a decent player and as stated different to what we have. I kinda feel though that when he gets the ball he slows the game down looking for that killer pass. Unfortunately in our league you dont always get that luxury so he hasnt been able to shine. He needs to get his head around that and tailor his game a little bit if he is gonna earn himself a run of games.
  9. Craggs on Youtube saying he had a tight hamstring and taken off as a precaution. They are hoping not serious but might rule him out for Saturday....
  10. Was on Facebook..... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1467675743490596/permalink/1968279150096917/
  11. Dont get many games at Hampden so we need to try and get as many to this as possible. Club are organising buses from Fir Park straight there so safety shouldnt be an issue for anyone.
  12. If Rose is fit he comes back in. If not Grimshaw. Lets win the right to play. I agree with Frear for Tait. More direct and with 2 to hit in the middle could get some joy. Question marks over McHugh at the moment but he is the Captain and probably needs to play through this dip in form so would give him another chance but Bigi needs to be ready to come on if its not working for him. Need to be winning this one if we have real ambitions for top 6.
  13. The team selection was always going to be a headache yesterday. Taking into account our injuries / recovery levels and trying to second guess what McInnes was going to do. With hindsight Grimshaw might have been a better replacement for Rose to start with and continue to bring Bigi on later when the game was opened up, but apart from that would anyone have done different? The Frear sub was exactly the right one. Just a shame that they scored before it was made. Pretty sure the half time talk would have been to give it everything and change around 60 mins. The strange one for me was Fisher. It was pretty clear that Aberdeen were winning everything in the air. Trying to match that seemed futile as playing to their strengths. Big players hate having to turn and run in behind (see Cedric). I would have stuck Sid on and asked a different question. However, as I said, hindsight is always 20/20.
  14. Spot on as always Andy. I thought Moults claim for a pen towards the end was pretty decent. The 2 defenders either side sandwiched him and put him to the ground stopping him challenge for the ball. However, there were a number of challenges earlier in the game where he was throwing himself to the ground that the ref quite rightly waved away so maybe influenced the refs decision. He needs to stop this as he will get a reputation with referees and it wont help us. The fact that several Aberdeen players were doing the same thing and being awarded free kicks is gauling but irrelevant.
  15. I think Andy Rose was the big winner out of todays game!
  16. Unsurprisingly both teams looked a bit leggy today after Thursdays exploits. What I didnt expect was Aberdeen to set up with the sole aim of nullifying our threats and stopping any football being played. That, together with their constant fouling of our players, diving whenever anyone went near them and constant moaning at a very weak referee, certainly served to spoil the game as an entertainment spectacle. That said, I thought it was a fairly even contest and a draw would probably have been a fair result. With Hindsight, Grimshaw in for Rose to start with instead of Bigi might have evened up the battle that the game ultimately was and subs wise Sid instead of Fisher may have been more productive given how dominant Aberdeen were in the air. Overall Aberdeen are leaving FP after a game they made a shitfest won by a scrappy goal with not much between the teams. I suppose theres a backhanded compliment in there somewhere. Definitely still much room for improvement in our squad and tactically I didnt think Robbo got it quite right at times today but we learn and we move on to next week.
  17. Massive game again today and another big test of the progression of this team. We've shown we can win games at home. We've shown we can bounce back from a defeat. We've shown we can dig in away from home and turn a result around. Today we need to show that we can manage expectation and remain focussed after what was a great win. Double headers are always difficult. The opposition gets a real good look at you and its hard to peak twice in such a short space of time. If this team is the real deal we need to see the same focus drive and determination we got on Thursday from the off. Great to hear the manager say we may change personnel to freshen things up but the way we go about our business remains the same. Consistency of selection/formation/style breeds confidence in players. As does winning. Id take a point today but Im greedy for 3. Lets do this Motherwell.
  18. My reading of it was that in order to invoke Les' double your money offer it has to be the Society raising the money. That wouldnt happen with the club selling unissued shares, but I could be wrong.
  19. I wonder if thats why Sid is in. Not the same kind of player as Louis but could be our ready made replacement to compliment Bowman. Obviously if we get a bit of cash in we might be looking at someone else.
  20. Yes indeed. Im sure all the younger generation are as envious of the '91ers.....
  21. Aye your right. My ageing mind just made that part up for itself!
  22. Joe is my greatest all time Motherwell player. To play the number of games he did, maintain the performance levels he did and go so many games without a booking put him head and shoulders above anyone Ive seen play in Claret & Amber. Best Scots born player never to be capped for his country. If Allan Campbell goes on to be half the player Joe was he will have some career.
  23. Quite envious of those that got to see that team play. My dad used to rave about them. RIP Bert.
