Straight Question(S) To The Board Of Mfc Re. Sfl Proposal
joewarkfanclub replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Motherwell FC. Please release a statement on the clubs position in respect of this plan. Do we as a community club feel it is acceptable to bully and threaten our future SFL partners to save the skin of a club that not so long ago wanted to ditch us for England? If not, why did we allow this document to be circulated given we have a representative on the SPL board? I was trying to figure out how to scrape together enough money to buy a Well Society membership given the financial shortfall anticipated by the club caused by doing the right thing and listening to the views of the fans as I felt it was my duty as a supporter. I will now wait a little to see what transpires before I decide whether MY club is worthy of that sacrafice. -
Spl,sfl.sfa Joint Statement On Reconstruction

Fan power got us this far. Without it newco would be planning for SPL football already. Stand firm, back the SFL club fans and let these idiots know we will not be bullied. We want our game back! -
SFL fans need ro lobby their clubs now. That document is nothing but a threat, The SFL should call them on it. I for one will have no part of a Greed is Good League 2. Well Society money back on hold!

Already a natural filter system in place.......US! I feel so positive about this its untrue! I really feel invigorated at the thought of the new season and what could be a brave new dawn for Scottish Football. Every single one of us owes it to ourselves and our club to make this work. Lets not let the Disciples of Doom have the last laugh.
-
Ive already had one ex Rangers fan mate say he will come along to Fir Park if there is no New Rangers next season Decent guy who is ashamed of the way his club have behaved and was more than happy for them to be punished and start at the bottom and not just to see how we all got on without a tv deal. There are a lot of these guys around.
-
Faddy and the Sheriff up front against Dynamo Kiev at Fir Park.......Im moist!
-
Tell me we couldnt pay him a decent fee on those shirt sales alone! I dont have the 3rd strip yet but if he signs......
-
There is no doubt we cannot afford Faddy on even what would be termed reasonabl wages and Faddy will clearly want to play at a higher level than us. However....... he currently has no deal on the table. he is training with us. he has a soft spot for the club playing a couple of champions league/europa league games against decent opposition might just get him the move he is looking for. terms and conditions maybe an issue but if you dont ask you dont get. tell the boy what we can afford and see what he says. and ffs let us at least dream it may be possible. fed up with all this negative shite. lets talk the club up. encourage folk to buy season tickets, invest in the Well Society, buy the third kit, bring pals to the games. Rangers are gone. Lets build our club instead of just accepting that we are f**ked! I believe!

Well done to the boardof Motherwell FC. Democracy at work. Cant really have any complaints now regardless of the result. Although I will be shocked and stunned if its anything other than a resounding NO!
-
Dont disagree. We will survive and we will replace Jenno eventually. But the chances of getting a replacement of equal quality in between now and Champions League deadline are pretty minimal. I know we are unlikely to progress in the CL but I would like us to give a good account of ourselves and at have a go at least getting Europa League Group stage. For that reason I think a short term deal could suit both parties. Jenno gets to play Champions League before moving on before the window shuts and we get the benefit of one of our most influential players to have a real tilt at doing something historic that could make a dent in the hole in our finances.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
joewarkfanclub replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Cheers Jay, interesting update! Hope your observations are proved to be correct. I hope the club can see the strength of feeling here and how a NO vote could in fact STRENGTHEN the position of our club through The Well Society, season ticket sales and other gate receipts. -
Surely we could sign him on a short term deal to play in the Champions League, with a clause he can go for free if and when a better club comes in for him? Not like hws gonna be cup tied wherever he goes.....

Seeing as Celtic stand to lose most from an SPL without New Rangers, will they boycott their own matches if the Celtic board vote YES? -

No you are right. Usual biased nonsense from the tabloids. Print a headline which matches your agenda and then twist the story to suit. Only on this occasion they havent even bothered to do that very well. -

I think we do all appreciate that. However, given that they cant win either way, why is it so difficult to vote the RIGHT/FAIR/SPORTING way? Also the TV money was 35% of our budget last year when we finished third, and the club dont work out their sums on the basis we will finish there every year, so the actual drop in revenue will be less. There maybe a small short term loss on the basis of the TV contract, most fan surveys estimate in the region of 200-300k, however I think that can be made up at the gate and thru the Well Society if we do the right thing. -

Im up for it. Live down in Ayrshire so the only chance I get to discuss this with Well fans is on here. However all the Killie and Ayr fans I have spoken to are of the same opinion. Killie fans especially are raging at the attitude of their chairman and rightly so. I would be ASHAMED if our club was party to voting newco back into the SPL and short of making rash statements about never going back it would certainly take away something about how I feel about the club. If we can do anything to try and influence this we should. Just tell us when and where. -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
joewarkfanclub replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
LOOK AFTER THE GAME, THE MONEY WILL FOLLOW. LOOK AFTER THE MONEY THE GAME WILL DIE! This is not empty rhetoric. It is already proven fact. Our game has been dying on it's ass for 20 years because of the 'greed is good' philosophy of the SPL driven by the Old Firm. No amount of pleading about the harsh realities of business will make me feel any different. I have no wish to see our club harmed but for the long term future of Motherwell FC and the Scottish game..... THE ANSWER IS STILL NO! -

Talk is that if the SFA take over we will have 1 ruling body, league reconstruction (4 leagues down to 3 - one less season for them to climb back) fairer voting/revenue split. If true, could be what we have all been looking for and allows The Rainjurs the possibility of only 2 seasons out SPL. -
2 of the best players I ever saw in a Motherwell jersey.

Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
joewarkfanclub replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
It has to be no. Apart from all the other arguments, if we dont enforce sporting integrity here when can we? We would basically be saying neither Rangers or Celtic could be relegated as we need their money too much. Sorry but thats not sport. In addition, if we let them in and apply tough sanctions, then relegation could be a real prospect for them next season. What do we do then? I accept there will be less money next season without them, but not the 'terminal' figure the establishment junkies are predicting. If we do the right thing here we WILL all survive and Scottish football will at last get the chance to get its house in order and build a brighter, fairer future. A yes vote will see the continuation of a slow terminal descent into oblivion. -

The difference was £900k I think the figures were Celtic £2.9m for finishing first Them £2.5m for finishing second MFC £1.6m for third. clearly weighted in favour of the top two. This needs to be renegotisted to STOP the gap from growing and allow greater competition, not less. Thats why the figures for a TV deal are sh**e. The biggest losers out of the TV deal collapsing will always be Celtic and Rangers and thats why the so called free press in this country tell us that it will be a disaster. A smaller TV deal without Rangers more equitably split would result in a little less money for each club but not insurmountable. It would also help CUT the gap between Celtic and the rest. And thats before you even start looking at other ways to improve the game for the paying punter. -
Straight Question To The Board Of Mfc Re. Rangers Newco
joewarkfanclub replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
It would be worth a substantial lease back fee to newco over a 25 year period. If the 5 players listed are worth more than the £5.5 million on their own then the liquidation fee for sale of assets is a joke. (remember they have another 35 players on their books). -

We are all WELL UP FOR IT! On a side note, did anyone notice on tonights news the values were announced for Rangers players re-negotiated move on fees and they would apear to be more than £5.5 million. Does that mean Green gets Ibrox and Murray Park for free? Also, where have they found the money to pay everyone their full wages this month? Creditors shafted AGAIN! -

Whilst I can understand both sides of the argument, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to change our game for the better. The game is dying the way we are going. We MUST uphold sporting integrity even if it weakens our club in the short term. John McBeth is spot on. Look after the game the money will follow. Look after the money the game will die. Rangers (ia) are living proof of that! -
Apart from the fact Mrs Doubtfire would be his manager! He's about as popular with Leeds fans as Brian Clough!
