  1. Faddy will be great. He is Faddy after all. I dont know if folks realise yet how good Vigurs is. I was happy to get Lawson, but to get Vigurs as well is a real coup for the club. Good things are going to happen.
  2. cheers MJ sure sbx will be able to stick a couple on when he gets back from his waddin' then we are good to go.
  3. I predict that Iain Vigurs will be our player of the year and that this time next year we will be saying Nicky who?
  4. No probs Jaggy. You could still join the club and come on our supporters bus to this years Cup Final!
  5. Just seen this Andy. Aye, wouldve nipped over. Never mind, thanks for the thought. Appreciated.
  6. I sense a Land Of Burns Steelmen in the offing? Are you guys heading up to the game on Thursday? Was thinking bout getting away from work sharp and heading to the Electric Bar to see if any of the Kuban fans were up for some banter. Now that there is a march on it would seem like the thing to do? We could make arrangements to meet and see where this takes us. PS any of the mods able to give the lads access to the PM system so we can swap contact numbers?
  7. UEFA are killing football. If its not bad enough the obscene amounts of money being bandied about the Champions League whilst our club makes a loss as a reward for qualifying for THEIR tournament, its crap like this. I know the club has to follow the rules, but what kind of rules make a game LESS of a spectacle, LESS entertaining and LESS fun? Its like booking players for celebrating goals. Rips ma knittin!
  8. Alrite mate. I travel alone and not aware of any other active Well fans in the area, although I did meet a few from Ayr going up on the train to the Cup Final in 2011. I noticed a guy bigkita posting this week mentioned he was from Ayrshire. Tried to PM him but his mailbox was full. You going up on Thursday? Could meet up for a beer beforehand if you like make sure we are on the same wavelength?

  9. I live in Irvine mate. Only been a semi-regular attender in recent years due to a young family but they are growing up now so not the same pressure on my free time. Looking forward to getting up to as many games as possible this year so would definitely be interested. Might not be enough for a bus, but if we got organised, could definitely car pool and take turns at the driving!
  10. As long as we put in a performance (eg Pana and Odense at home) I'll happily accept whatever result comes our way. On our budget we have no right to expect to go far in Europe especially now that the competitions are rigged, but it is nice to dream, and if we play well and get a few breaks who knows. COYW!
  11. We had two on trial at the weekend. Clearly they couldnt have impressed enough to earn a deal. I agree getting a winger in with pace would be desirable but they are hard to find on the money we can pay. So, how does that reflect on McCall exactly? He identified it as a position needing filling but hasnt managed to get someone of the right quality in. I suppose we could have just signed someone to fill a jersey, but wait, he did that last year and was slaughtered for it........ Go figure.
  12. I think we could potentially play the same system as last year with the players we currently have. My preferred line up at present would be this: Nielsen Ramsden, Hutchinson, McManus, Hammell Lawson, Lasley McFadden, Vigurs, Angol Sutton However, you could easily be more attacking or more defensive with just one or two changes, ie. Add Carswell or Anier (if we get him on loan)/McHugh. I would like to see us sign a pacey winger, to give us options, however, you then have the problem of where to fit them into the team. We have some flexibility with Kerr/Ramsden able to play a number of positions and McFadden can play pretty much anywhere across the front. I would agree with Stu though. McFadden is our best player. You play him wherever he can cost most damage and fit the rest around him. Really looking forward to the season ahead, think it has the potential to be great, but the fact we really dont know how its going to pan out has made it the most interesting pre-season in years.
  13. I asked earlier when I phoned to book my home leg ticket. They are still finalising details but expect to offer limited spaces for around £1200. They have had difficulties because no-one flies direct to Krasnador and they have had to charter a smaller plane due to the costs. Sounds like a nightmare for the club and dont expect too many takers at that price.
  14. £25 for a Euro game is just about right and the concessions for kids/OAPs and family tickets are sensible. If folks are put off coming to this game at those prices given that most folks have NO chance of getting to Russia, you would have to question if they are REALLY that interested in attending. I appreciate money is tight for a lot of folks but as mentioned already would £2/3 really change folks minds? Given that this will be our first competive home game of the season Id be disappointed if we dont get at least 6000/7000 in for this.
  15. Well 4 Europe is on the money for me. Im happy with the squad. The 2 signings the manager has highlighted would be the icing on the cake and should see us do well this season imo. But then Im a glass half full sort of guy....
  16. This is what I love about football. This time yesterday Im pretty sure fans from either club could not have pointed to the other on a map and now you have the beginnings of bonds between the two clubs that could last a lifetime. Cant make this trip but would really love to do it. The ones to far off remote places are always the best! Welcome fans of FC Kuban!
  17. Stalker. Motherwell used to be a steeltown, then they took away the steel........
  18. We are not worthy! Absolute gentleman and true Motherwell Legend!
  19. Been checking Expedia to have a look at rough prices. 44hours is shorter than some of the flight times! You can do it for about £800 including 2 nights hotel room. Flight out is about 15 hours. Flight back is 27 hours! If you want a short flight back add £700! Think even the club charter could be attractive on this occasion! Im sure if you had a weeks holiday you could fine a way to get down there cheaper and it might be an adventure....... Interestingly you can get from Moscow to Krasnodar with Siberian Airlines for £180 return. Just need to find a cheap way of getting to Moscow!
  20. Kuban Kransador it is! Home leg first.
  21. The draw will be live on the UEFA website for those with access to the internet.
  22. Apart from Seville (who would pump us) and the Differdange/Utrecht tie, they are all horrible to get to. I will reserve judgement on who is beatable until we know more about the various teams and their budgets. Been there before! Differdange/Utrecht please
  23. some interesting results already. if the draw is kind and we can avoid anyone who is straight through as a seed in the 3rd round it is do-able. avoiding the likes of Stuttgart, Swansea, Seville and Udinese would give us an opportunity to get through and get a moneyspinning tie. prefer a team from northern europe as well as our game is more suited to them and the heat wont kill us! well done to st johnstone. Rosenberg may not be the force they were but they are still a decent outfit and they are half way through their season so should be a lot sharper. Trondheim is a cracking town and a great night out. think there will be some sore heads and wallets in the morning!
  24. McManus was presented to the media on Monday night. No?
