  1. Well done Killie. Hopefully get a bumper away support for this one given the timing and importance of it. Virtually a home game for me so a no brainer. Any idea what the vibe is about how many are intending to travel?
  2. How did Ken Dodds song go.... We are the diddy teams The diddy teams The diddy teams We are the diddy teams We hate the Old Firm
  3. That £900k difference for second place would meam such a huge difference to our prospects next season. We must do everything in our power to get it. Fairly sure the manager and Chief Executive will have discussed this at length! Not to mention it will also be £900k less in Rangers coffers. A £1.8 mill difference between us and them next season would be huge......if they're still in the league!
  4. yAlways think thats a tough one as you are kind of limited to the players you have had the privelege of actually seeing. No doubt players like George Stevenston Willie McFadyen Hughie Ferguson Wilson Humphries Willie Redpath Bobby Ferrier Charlie Aitken Andy Paton Ian St John deserve their place in history a no bad team from the greatest players I have actually seen would be Sieb Dykstra Luc Nijholt Chris McCart Brian Martin Joe Wark Bobby Russell Paul Lambert Colin O'Neill Davy Cooper Bobby Graham Wullie Pettigrew Subs Ally Maxwell Stevie Hammell Fraser Wishart James McFadden Tommy Coyne Dougie Arnott Phil O'Donnell Brian McClair (2nd stint excluded!) Johnny Gahagan can always argue that a lot of the players listed didnt play their best football at Fir Park, however I think the ones I have listed all made a lasting impact. Unfortunately, at the moment, only Stevie Hammell would do this and thats mainly due to number of appearances and consistency in a time where such qualities are so rare.
  5. That is your opinion to which you are entitled and one which I would never deem to call ridiculous. Stuart McCall has kept Higdon on the field of play on a number of occasions for his defensive qualities at set pieces, so given our current plight I didnt think it was such a stretch to suggest he might go down that route this week. Ideal, no, but its a desperate situation. Clearly you disagree. Thankfully it looks like we will never have to find out as it looks like Cummins is going to play. Still a risk with a young player alongside another one so inexperienced but if the manager thinks he's up to it, great. Dont want to see the big man dropped but if thats the case and we go 4-5-1 then he surely has to start on the bench.
  6. To suggest Higdon can play CH is no more ridiculous than suggesting he cant. As far as Im aware he has never played there so no one really knows. Similarly with Jennings, although he is a good reader of the game, the height advantage given away to the land of giants would leave us with real problems at set pieces. The only reason I suggested Higdon was that I have no knowledge of the U19s and I really dont fancy Higdon up top in a 4-5-1 as I think we have established that doesnt work and we HAVE to match them up in midfield this time after sundays performance. The Cummins story sounds encouraging, dont know the boy but hopefully he will come in and have a stormer. Its all about opinions......
  7. ---------------Randolph---------- Hately---Higdon---Page---Hammell -------Jennings-------Carswell----- Humphrey------Law-------Daley -----------------Ojamaa--------- Lets just run rings round them. Attack is the best form of defence......especially when your defence is fecked!
  8. Spot on. Back to the future. Greed is not good!
  9. Their 3 in midfield bossed our 2, hence we couldnt get them in the game and resorted to humping long balls. Broon got his tactics right. McCall shouldve changed it early doors.
  10. This is gonna be a huge test. Not only do we have the CH issue, we need to find a way to combat their height and our lack of, otherwise we will get another roasting at set peices. Dont suppose there are any u19's that are 6'5"? Also if Broon lines up the same way again we need to match up his 3 in midfield. How we do all that and maintain a level of performance I have no idea. Good luck Stuart!
  11. Lasley is not a dirty player, however, he is beginning to build up a bit of a rap sheet with late/mistimed tackles. His red yesterday was thoroughly deservedbut no-one will know that more than him. I see he has apologised to Fyvie on twitter. A personal apology would be a nice touch also. 'Keef' seems like a good lad, but he needs to stay on his feet otherwise we can look forward to lots more games without him.
  12. I admit I havent checked the figures out and merely used a commonly quoted figure. Dont doubt your figures on prize money, however, isnt there additional money distributed dependent on tv appearances? Either way, my additional points stand. A lot of the money we lose from any prospective tv deal can be made back in other ways which can actually strengthen the scottish game as opposed to continually weakening it.
  13. Didnt need to. Shouldve changed it at half time as Jenno and Las were getting overun. Hook Murphy for Humphrey, withdraw Ojamma to left mid and move Law into centre. Wouldve allowed us to match them up in midfield and maybe Las wouldnt have lost it and committed that crazy lunge. Simples!
  14. How are they a cash cow? Yes, without them there is no Sky deal but they and Celtic take 70% of that money. For that privelege we get locked into a shitty 12 team league that bores the pants off everyone and has been driving attendances down for years. We also have to do what they tell us because of the very democratic 11-1 vote that ensures they retain all the power. If Rangers are allowed to get away with this it will be more of the same until our game is dead, and this time we will only have ourselves to blame cause we didnt have the balls to do something about it when the chance arose.
  15. Humphrey. Until he came on we were going nowhere. If we had got the ball to him more in the last ten instead of humping it at Higdon we might have got a replay. Page really needs to get his head up. The out ball to right was on a number of times and he just punted long. Sorrow to say I agree with Dazzer! Humph deserves a start instead of Murphy next week.
  16. Paw Broon did a real number on us today. Putting 3 in midfield against Las and Jenno worked a treat. How Stuart McCall couldnt see it needed changing even before half time is beyond me. May have led to frustration for Las bringing on that tackle which looked poor at the game and Im led to believe, even worse on tv. Ralleyed towards end, but why we persisted in long ball to Higdon over and over is beyond me. Was clear Humphrey had the beating of their full back so needed to choose that option more. Bad day at the office all round. Fingers crossed nxt week will be better.
  17. Newco Rangers third division. Oldco Rangers first division. Anything else unacceptable. Either way disband SPL, return to 16 team top league with equal voting rights, fairer split of revenues. If sky want their OF games we could regionalise the league cup into areas (lots of derby games) or something similar. This is the time for change. Our board need to be bold and brave. If they can pull it off The Well Society could secure our future as one of the leading lights in the Scottish game. Exciting times.
  18. Time to resurrect The Northern Lights song. Always liked that one!
  19. Totally with you on the negativity Jay. I'm no doom merchant. Totally up for todays game and there's nothing wrong with dreaming about a trip to the San Siro or the likes. Indeed, winding up Rangers fans this past week or two has been very enjoyable. However I think there is a fine line between anticipation and expectation so while I wont be crowing from the rooftops about what we are going to do to Aberdeen today I am really looking forward to the game. Id love it if we could stuff wee Broon again! I think some of the negativity in here is tongue in cheek/reverse psychology stuff (keep up the good work MJC) so as long as it keeps working for us Im a happy man! Mon the steelmen!
  20. Its just in our make up. Experience has taught us not to tempt fate. Im a glass half full sort of guy, but when it comes to Motherwell or Scotland I wont make rash predictions. I also kinda like the fact that its another thing that makes us different from the ugly sisters. I dont back them at the bookies either (although I would never bet against) Im not predicting defeat today, and I think all things being equal we should win, but been around long enough to know a banana skin when I see one. Here's hoping the manager and the team do too. Mon the steelmen!
  21. Lady Ga Ga - Judas........
  22. Even without liquidation they should be relegated. Illegal payments, hidden contracts, irregularities in the registration of players.... Dunfermline or Hibs would have every right to take that to court if they are forced to go down.
  23. r I totally agree with you. It stinks to high heaven and has all the hallmarks of some well connected people desperately trying to ensure that come hell or high water that The Cheats maintain their status and position.
