  1. The Auld Buggers at it. He knows fine well why there is ill feeling towards him. He's just trying to distract us from the job in hand to try and gain an advantage. Best thing to do is totally ignore him, turn out in numbers and roar the players on to what hopefully can be a great victory. Thats the best GIRFUY we can deliver!
  2. Having had time to sleep on this I think I would base my decision on attending Fir Park on what stance our board took on things as opposed to the SPL final decision, albeit Derek Weir is on the board. I would be looking for our board to be very vocal and come out strongly against newco and try to persuade other clubs to be similarly strong. If this fails, then like other posters I may limit my visits to Fir Park Scottish and League Cups, which could be seen to offer some chance of just resorts for a teams own efforts. Before this season that had pretty much been the case for me anyway. The club must be strong. Make change happen!
  3. Rangers (and Celtic) have caused and presided over the demise of Scottish Football for a generation due to their greed and to their shame our club and others have bought into their self serving propaganda and allowed them to get away with it. As a result attendances have dwindled and our game is on its arse. As it turns out. Rangers, not content with the already uneven playing field they in part created, have broken the rules and cheated their way to success. They should be justly punished for this whether they whether they are liquidated or not. Relegation to division 1 should be a minimum requirement. If they go bust then no relegation this year for Hibs/Pars and 'Newco' should be invited to submit an application to the Scottish League along with other interested parties to be considered on their merits. Any other scenario leaves the integrity of Scottish Football in tatters. I have been an increasingly infrequent attender at Fir Park in the last ten years due to total disillusionment, but this year I have started to regain some enthusiasm due to the way our board are going about their business. I think our club are a shining beacon of light at the minute, listening to the fans, addressing ticket prices and generally trying to make coming to the football a better experience. All that will have been for nothing if they dont stand up and be counted now. We need to take back our fair share of tv money, take back fairer voting rights, insist that there is a fairer share of gate money (most actors get paid regardless of which theatre they play in) get a bigger league with play offs to ensure less fear and more excitement etc etc This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to restore balance to our league and breath life back into our game. Celtic cant call the shots without Rangers, they need them, we dont. We can live within our means and get back to doing what we do best, nurturing young scottish talent to move on to a higher level bringing money into the club If the clubs dont force this through now they will live to regret it and they will be playing to empty stadia. Without sporting integrity, then whats the point?
  4. Its not a matter of kicking Humph in the balls. This is a Scottish Cup Quarter Final with a trip to Hampden and the increased revenuethat goes with it. We play our strongest team and given recent performances tha means Law on the left and Murphy on the right. Those 2 have upped their games since Ojammas arrival and are our best options. Humphrey has had plenty chances this season and Saturday apart has pretty much failed to deliver. He will get more chances in the next few weeks with suspensions. Now is not the time to throw him back in. As for pissing him off and making him want to leave, well good luck to him! (although I doubt he is the kind of guy to take the pet like that). If we want to keep our best players we need this semi final to get money in to reduce the shortfall in our finances. It would also be nice to stick it to wee Judas again. Sorry Humph, take a seat, your time will come.
  5. I can think of 900,000 good reasons we should be aiming for 2nd! Fairly sure Leanne Dempster and Stuart McCall will have discussed that given the Murphy situation!
  6. Welcome back MJC! We got away with your mental abhoration this week so glad to see normal service has been resumed! Keep up the good work!
  7. Thought Murphy had a good game. He is looking much more confident now the weight of expectation has been transferred off his shoulders onto Henriks so in the absence of a stand out MoM I have given him the nod although it could equally have been any of the others mentioned.
  8. Get after 2nd place, third will take care of itself that way. Just need to keep focused on one game at a time. Think the manager will take care of this as he has displayed a real ability to adapt in recent weeks which was missing thru november december.
  9. Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!! What are you doing MJC! The plan was working. Dont change it now. I demand you change your prediction to something far more pessimistic!
  10. It wasnt the fans that treated our lot that way at Pittodrie, it was the clubs stewards, with or wothout the authority of the club themselves. I seem to recall a lot of Aberdeen fans saying that the way our fans were treated was wrong. I wouldnt want us to follow suit at all. We are better than that. We are starting to build a reputation as a progressive club, both in relation to our support / forward thinking board. Wednesday night should be the perfect example of that. Havent enjoyed a game at Fir park as much in years. Lets keep moving forward as a club and let the others remain in the dark ages where maybe they will remain!
  11. Dont think you can count St Johnstone out. 9 points back with a game in hand could easily make it 6. Third place is a long way from cemented, but i'd rather be in our position than theirs. Today was always likely to see others gain ground on us, but we need to keep going in the next few weeks to ensure we go into the split with as big and advantage as possible.

    Celtic

Lasley for me. His work rate and use of the ball today shows how much we miss him when he is out.
  13. Lot of good possession football, but never seriously threatended their goal which was a little disappointing. The Sheriff was marshalled well by Rogne and Wilson who had clearly done their homework. Main plus was that we put in a performance worthy of our league position and were not seriously outclassed at any time. The same level of application with a little more adventure against Rangers at Fir Park should see us give them an overdue beating, although we havent shown this against them for quite some time, but here's hoping. Onwards and upwards.
  14. Didnt say it was that season but it was that year. (wink) As for my recollections of the title race, it was a long time ago! That team has also got better in my mind with every year that has passed!
  15. 1994 was without doubt my best year as a Motherwell fan. Even better than 1991 despite the euphoria of winning the cup. We played some great football and had a real chance of winning the league. My recollection is that despite blowing a couple of really important games, we were still only 2 points behind Rangers on the last day and still in with a shout. I wont argue with the posts above, but I thought they were away to Hibs on the last day while we had St Johnstone at home? I recall going to the game with a real sense of anticipation that it could still happen if Rangers lost and we won we were champions....SIMPLES! Was gut wrenching not to even hold up our end of the deal (I think it was Billy Dodds who scored the goal) although it wouldnt have mattered as Rangers won in the end. Fairly sure they score late on as well. To not even finish second just added insult to injury! Whilst I am really excited about where we will end up this season, I dont think you can compare th quality of the 2 teams. The 1994 squad had real class, remember they scared the sh*** out of Borrusia Dortmund that year. However, I d sense the same snse of togetherness about this lot so we should definitely be aiming high. We have never experienced Champions League football at this club and may never get the chance again, so lets go for it!
  16. I thought it was very sporting of us to replicate the first half of the abandoned match before allowing the players to show what they can really do in the second half.......well done lads, 3 points AND a fairplay award!
  17. Higdon by a distance tonight. Maybe now the boo boys will realise what sh**e they were talking and keep their mouths shut and eyes open in future! Ojamaa maybe the Sheriff but Higdon is the Deputy! Plenty more to come from this partnership I feel!
  18. So pleased for the Big Man last night. Thought the service to him first half was shocking but 2nd half he was awesome. Excellent hold up play, flicks, knock ons, wee one/twos. Balls of steel on the first pen which was crucial for us to get back into the game, would have been so easy to hide and then the overhead kick! Been said before, he's not doing a lot different than he was before but in Ojamaa he has found the perfect foil. Take a bow Big Chap!
  19. Rather it wasnt on the telly. Aberdeen would bring a decent crowd and given wee Judas' appearance Id anticipate a healthy home support. Back to the good old days when the Scottish Cup was a big deal. Cant see it mind unless BBC go for Hearts v St Mirren.
  20. MJC, keep going with the negative predictions, it seems to be working so far, cant believe some folks on here havent cracked on to your masterplan!
  21. Hope thats a wind up. If not its a poor post and the kind of insular attitude thats killing Scottish Football. If we want to drive attendances up instead of down we have to encourage ALL supporters to come back to the game. The club has taken the lead in this and if we can show it works others might follow, and who knows WE might start to get treated better at away grounds. Looking forward to the game. Hopefully a big crowd and good atmosphere driving both teams on to an entertaining game. Its up to us to ensure WE encourage our team onto a good win. Here's hoping the club have enough pies and programmes in to maximise the earning potential and cover a few new contracts!

    Ojamaa

I may be pushing the boat out here, but I'd hazzard a guess that it's NOT Dazzer!
  23. Maybe if the atmosphere wasnt so poisonous at times our home performances were better and we were winning games turning Fir Park into a fortress people would come back. I live in Ayrshire and had got out the habit of going to the arc regularly but the start we made to the season encouraged me to come back. However, listening to the crazy abuse some players were getting and seeing the players performances slide at FP as a result I stopped again as it just wasnt enjoyable. However, after the last 2 performances and ATMOSPHERE I will be back on Saturday hoping that we can keep the positivity going. Its not rocket science. Supporters support, the clues in the name! If you dont like the performance fair enough but save it til the end of the game. Never saw a player get better by giving him dogs abuse in 40 years watching the Well.
  24. Dont think it's any coincidence that our performances at home have improved with the atmosphere! Boo boys take note! Mon the ginger army!
