  1. I do know that. But he has at least played some senior football and was on the bench, so should have had at least 15 - 20 mins in him. Im not against playing young players. I just dont think today was the correct time and circumstance.
  2. I thought a number of players had decent first halves. But the levels dropped off in the second half with all the unforced changes from the mangager. I thought Vale had another very good 70 mins before he was undeservedly hooked. But Ive gone for SODs for Motm. Thought he was very solid at RWB, did well at RCB and showed some real leadership qualities trying to direct his team mates and effect the game.
  3. When I saw the starting line up today I did raise an eyebrow with the changes made and can only presume some players were unwell or carrying knocks. The back line seemed particularly negative with no Gent or Devine and the midfield too attacking with no Davor. It also left the bench looking like it was all eggs in one basket, with plenty to shore it up if we were ahead and not much to change it positively if we got behind. Thought we started slowly and let Aberdeen get the better of the early exchanges, but we seemed to grow into the game and it felt like another act of self harm when we gave up the opening goal. After that we had some good chances and should really have got level, even before VAR conspired against us. Second half, I couldnt really understand the substitutions. I can accept Gent being brought on to give us more width but he was largely ineffective and Im not sure what the purpose of bringing Halliday on was. I can only think SK thought we needed more control in midfield and maybe Davor wasnt fit. Otherwise its a mystery. We did play ok for the first part of the second half and created a few chances that were spurned but the rest of the substitutions were baffling. Taking Lennon Miller off was madness as we effectively gave up the midfield at that point and bringing 2 youngsters on when we were chasing the game was not fair on them. If Moses hasnt shown enough in training to get 15-20 mins in front of them at this point, Id question why we have given him a contract. Big Theo had a poor game and had run his race by then and should have been replaced before Vale for me. Need to see the Shinnie hand ball again, but it certainly looked a lot clearer than the Bair decision. All said and done though we didnt lost the game because of VAR. Bad finishing and poor in game management did that.
  4. Hard to know what to expect from Aberdeen next week. The whole Warnock thing seems like a shit show, and leaving suddenly without any apparent replacement waiting in the wings seems very weird. You would presume Peter Leven will get the job until the permanent manager is in place and he might steady the ship, but with the level of uncertainty hanging over the club and players its hard to see it going well for them. Glad we get to see what happens against Dundee before we have to play them.
  5. Great update Jay. Thanks for all the effort you and the rest of the Society Board are putting into this. Its the kind of thing that should have been happening from the outset. I get that there were lots of reasons it wasnt, but great to see that its getting done now. More power to you all.
  6. Some of that close contact stuff is pretty impressive. I love the bit where Lundstram tries to tackle him and just bounces off! Brilliant. No doubt Theo has worked hard with the manager to develop himself over the course of the season and its paying dividends for all concerned. I still think he has room to develop further and if he does what a player we will have on our hands. I think the concerns at the start of the season were probably justified. For me it was more the length of contract given rather than whether he would be any good or not. 2 years seemed like a bit of a risk on someone who hadnt really shown anything at this level. Glad to be proved wrong though and I would have no issues extending him on improved terms to protect our asset. Hopefully a push for top 6 and the guaranteed revenue that comes with it can come our way and allow us to start planning early for next season.
  7. Not sure Ive seen it posted anywhere else, but thats our first back to back league wins since August. Another monkey off the teams back.
  8. Yup. So glad the Board held their nerve in December when it would have been so easy to pull the trigger. We are getting our just rewards now and if we can get/keep everyone fit we could have a strong finish to the season again.
  9. Wanted to save posting about the game until I was sober and a little less emotional. Was a strange experience yesterday watching in hospitality and having ro temper my reactions to the game. Thought we started the game really brightly and pushed Rangers back for the first 10 minutes. Getting the goal seemed to spark them into life and from the rest of the half we had to be very disciplined and defended well limiting their opportunities as best we could. Bairs goal was a thing of beauty lovely build up play and a cracking finish from a man in form and high on confidence. Second half I felt we started to get deeper and deeper as we tired and Rangers did miss a few decent chances. The Rangers fans around us were losing their shit! They really do have this unshakeable seige mentality now and believe the entire world is against them. The irony of the penalty decision was lost on them. We had a pretty decent view of it and although SOD goes to ground the Rangers player throws his legs up in the air as if they were springloaded for contact. As soon as VAR gets involved though, you know its getting given as there will always be one frame where it looks like contact is made and so it transpired. What did surprise me is that VAR didnt look at the Casey tackle again. Its not even a foul in my book as he clearly wins the ball and McAusland gets injured because he pulls out of it, but the bears around us were not happy. Q a rousing rending of "feck the SFA". After all of that it was really pleasing to get the second goal and see SK make some positive substitutions that kept us in the game. Ive been critical of his game management recently so was great to see him get it spot on yesterday. Great performance from the manager and entire squad and brilliant result. Left me wishing I had been down below with my fellow Dossers at the final whistle to celebrate properly! C'est la vie! ๐Ÿงกโค๏ธ๐Ÿงก
  10. Faddys genuine love for the club is fantastic. Really enjoyed his inputs over the last week!
  11. Turning over Rangers at Ibrox wearing a kit with a sash has a certain ironic appeal, I feel that I can now get behind! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  13. Are you happy to accept we are not bottle merchants now? ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ˜‰

  17. I think its between Casey, SODs, Kelly or Mugabi. All were excellent. I cant decide but Im going for Kelly for the double save at the end, and the fact he has had a bit of a hard time recently.
  18. I think the WS has had a bit of a reset with the recent elections. A lot of younger board members with fresh ideas of how to improve things and make it better. Together with a reset on the Board proper it feels like a great opportunity for the club to re-invent iself and make the changes necessary to move forward successfully.
  19. Good point. I dont know. I kinda put that post up whilst thinking out loud. On reflection a share issue diluting the WS to 51% probably makes more sense as KMcAlpin says. Obviously wouldnt be sufficient going forward but would maybe buy the Society sufficient time to put forward and implement their own proposals whilst at the same time looking at other offers?
  20. We definitely need to play on the front foot today. We all know its the best part of our team. Our performances at Ibrox and Parkhead this season have been very good. Here's hoping we get another one and get that little slice of luck you need to get a big result.
  21. This is definitely preferable to what Im reading regarding the 2 offers currently on the table (if correct) and worth exploring. It feels to me like the club board had way too much control over the Well Society and limited its power due to the way it was implemented. I feel as if there is scope for growth there if it is allowed to breath. But like you say it needs time, and time needs money.
  22. Im already as WS Member. But I would certainly consider buying private shares from the Society to raise revenue. Not sure what 19% would.raise, but they would retain controlling interest whilst raising cash. Although, that would go into the Society. So maybe a share issue to dilute to 51% would be better?
  23. Posted on Pie & Bovril. We can raise ยฃ2m by engaging with our fanbase to increase membership of the Well Society or offering shares up to a non controlling interest. Or as I said, sell Lennon Miller. Given our model is to develop and sell on players, then selling the entire club for the price of one transfer makes no sense.....
