I wouldnt imagine so. I dont expect to see him in a Motherwell shirt again. He will probably be given a couple of weeks holiday during which time his transfer to whatever club has offered us most money will likely go through. Thats based on absolutely nothing but rumour and Tom Feeley saying we will sell him.

Watched the first half of Argentina v Canada and have to admit, I was surprised at how positively the Canadians went at it from the start. They created a number of good chances before they got caught with the sucker punch and Argentina took control of the game. Re Bair, its a shame he didnt get any game time, but looking at the Canada front line, they all looked pretty useful. Pace, strength and skill. No harm to the big fella but Im not surprised he didnt get a start given what they have at their disposal. On the plus side, he hasnt got injured so any big money transfer should still go through smoothly!

I think Alan Burrows was maybe taking up a lot of the slack. Maybe a coincidence or maybe he should have been delegating more to department heads or whatever, but it does seem things spiralled out of control after he left.
-
Im sure he has a lot of connections willing to help him for a small fee.....

The other thing that struck me was that if the £4m outlined to be spent by Barmack is used to buy services owned by companies he either owns or has associations with, then he stands to make a healthy return on his £900k regardless if whether it generates revenue for the club or not.
-
This is what really annoys me about McMahons statement yesterday. He is asking the WS to show that any investment they have lined up stays in the club. Yet under the proposal he is trying to push through, we will spend £4m in the first 3 years for a £900k investment. Im no bussinessman, but that looks like £3.1m going out of the club with no guarantee it will generate any extra revenue to justify the expense.

Nice one. I dont do Twitter anymore. They closed down my account for breaching community standards! Only they wouldnt tell me what I had done wrong so I couldnt appeal! 😆

Got my voting pack in. Another for the REJECT pile. The 2 guys I sit with are reject also. Great statement from Brian McCafferty. Great timing also. Hopefully we can win this by a resounding margin and move on stronger.

Where was that?

Absolutely no issues with trying to make the matchday experience more entertaining. However, if you are going to throw £600k of the clubs money at it, you need to have a plan that shows the money spent will generate extra revenue otherwise its a bad investment. Im not sure how many extra bums on seats that kind of thing can realistically manage or how else you monetise it. But without seeing the workings behind it, I wont be buying into it.

My understanding is that the stuff from the Well Society will come out tomorrow in one email from the company who are carrying out the vote on their behalf. Thats why they had to make a statement on the Barmack proposal as it was submitted too late to be included in the list of documents.
-
Thats pretty close to my understanding of the situation. Hopefully others can confirm.

Emailing the Society is probably your best bet to get full and accurate answers to all those questions in particular timelines. members@thewellsociety.uk

Exactly. We have the shares. If he wants them, then buy them or at least invest money into the club at a level it makes a difference and we reduce our shareholding accordingly. This proposal that we should match his investment to lose 20% of our shareholding is for the birds!

When we were all kids we were told we should be seen and not heard. We were told that you shouldnt do politics and religion in public. These tropes were peddled by folk who wanted to ensure that good people didnt get beyond their stations and try and make life a little bit better for everyone. Thankfully, a lot of good people ignored that shite and life has got better for women, catholics, jewish folk, muslims, gay people, folks of ethnic origins etc etc. You dont need to not talk about these things at the football. You just need to be "sound" and not be an arsehole.

You would struggle to find a manager you liked! 😉😉😉

I dont think you necessarily need to lean to or even support the Well Society or their plan. This vote is purely on the Wild Sheep proposal. I just posted this on P&B........ "It has become increasingly obvious throughout this fiasco that the "real barrier" to succesful fan ownership of Motherwell FC has been the current Executive Board. I had wrongly assumed in the past that as experienced individuals/business people, they actually knew what they were doing. It seems I was very naiive/wrong in that regard. We need to vote this deal down. Vote in a new Executive Board. Re-visit assess any potential outward investment proposals. I think we would all accept that outward investment in the club would safeguard the clubs future and would be welcome. However, accepting this deal in its current form would be madness."
-
This for me is where the real risk lies for the club (and us as supporters). Much has been spoken about the pro's and con's of both plans. In a perfect world we could negotiate a deal where the best elements of both plans could be incorporated and a collegiate approach found to the running of the club. However, thats not where we are. The current deal gives all the power and control to Wild Sheep Sports whilst they bear none of the risk. All of the risk falls on the Well Society (ie the supporters). Thats why this is a bad deal. Thats why it needs to be voted down.

Sneddon wasnt the worst full back we ever had. We just got him at the end of his career when he was more or less past it. We have had far worse.
-
No he isnt. He is employed by the football club who are run by the Executive Board. The Well Society are merely the major shareholder. Hopefully after all this is over that will change.
-
Aye. Dont let the door hit you on the arse on the way out!
-
But who employs and is responsible for the CEO? Surely they are the final arbiters of what goes out?
-
Im not on Twitter anymore either. But there is definitely more unqualified support for the Wild Sheep proposal on FB than there is on here or P&B. There are some offering reasonable scrutiny towards the WS proposal and that is to be welcomed, as you say, as it will allow for a robust process and the improvement of what of the face of it seems a genuine vision for the future of the club. The problem with the Wild Sheep proposal is that, other than the financials or the board make up theres not a lot more to scrutinise (although those in themselves should be enough to vote against). Ive also heard a lot if people comment that the WS proposals wont work as they havent worked up til now. There seems to be a misapprehension of how the WS was operated before, why it was operated that way, and why its no longer being operated that way. The Well Society changed for the better last October folks! The new people involved are younger, more enthusiastic, full of new skills and ideas. They are no longer happy to be sidelined and payed lip service by the executive board. A vote against the Wild Sheep proposal isnt a vote for no change. Its a vote to give the Well Society the chance it always should have had to be a success.
-
This is a good example of why the structure of the club needs to be changed. The CEO was recommended to the Executive Board by the WS Board. But he was employed by the Executive Board who are categorically recommending the investment proposal. He could be the biggest supporter of fan ownership and the WS proposal that there is, but it would take a very brave man to speak freely under those circumstances.

Shhhhh! 😆😆😆
