No Motherwell fan hates Rangers more than they love Motherwell. Some hate Rangers more than they hate Celtic though, and that seems to get up your nose, or at least under your skin enough to make comments like that. Halliday is playing better because he is being used properly in a system that he can contribute to. I think we can all unite and get behind that, no? 😘😘😘

Not gonna go after Kettlewell on this one as our performances against Rangers and Celtic were generally pretty good. The 2 games at Ibrox last season in particular, were 2 of the best performances there in a long time. However, the way we were set up this season there is no way we score the two goals we did as we wouldnt have been far enough up the park to take advantage of the mistakes. In fact, you could argue the mistakes would never have happened without the pressure on the ball. Thats not to say we might not have created chances in a different way, but there is no denying, this getting after teams is eminently more enjoyable to watch. Be interesting to see if anyone is able to come up with a solution to beat the press.....

Given that Motherwell generally only win 40% or less of our games, forecasting a loss every week means you are, more often than not, likely to be correct! Maybe folk should cut MJC some slack! 😍😍😍

The powers that be wanted them parachuted back into the SPL. The wee clubs made sure they came back in at the bottom tier. So although they still got more than they were due, justice of sorts still prevailed.....

I quite liked when Brechin ruled Scottish Football. They made sure the dead club got their just desserts!

2 wins in 4 days has made us more or less safe. One more would seal it I think. The bigger carrot is top 6. If we can win our 2 home games v St Mirren and Hearts I think we are almost stick on to make it. Hearts would need to beat Celtic at Parkhead and St Mirren win their remaining 3 games to pip us. By the time we get to the Hearts game we will know exactly what we need to do though......

When he first arrived he was sat in a midfield that was being overun and camped in front of the centre halves. No real surprise an 18 year old wasnt able to show his best. I think he is thriving with Slattery and Miller alongside him. That and pressing higher up the pitch gets us more possession and in better areas. Even Halliday is looking a better player in the new set up.

With 2 full weeks to work with the players and hone his tactics, we should see a more efficient press. Add to that that Stama and Kaleta will be available for selection, we will have more options on AND off the bench. Will St Mirren be able to live with that? Lets see! 🧡❤️🧡

It matters because of the way he left and the narrative he tried to create. I stayed with him to the end and would have been happy for his legacy to be one of a half decent Motherwell manager who eventually ran out of ideas. He changed that. No one else. For that reason, I dont want to leave him any way to justify himself. He shat it. The players are proving it now.

Kettlewell will always be able to point to that. However, if he was that confident, he should never have walked......

I think its safe to say the new manager has hit the ground running. 2 huge results in 4 days that has us realistically looking at 1 more win to see us safe this season. We are back in the conversation for top 6, which if it could be achieved would be massive, as it would allow the CEO/Exec Board to start setting budgets for next season at the earliest opportunity. That would allow contract talks to be started with anyone we would like to keep or new players we would lime to get in. The fact that we have got these results and been a lot easier on the eye isnt lost on the support either. Great to be feeling such positivity again so soon!

Lots of really good performances today. It would be easy to make a case for pretty much anyone. However, Im gonna go for Andy Halliday. He hasnt been my favourite player since he signed. Last season he was well off the pace and under Kettlewell it looked as if his legs wouldnt carry him at this level anymore. However, under Wimmer he has been a man re-born and today was his best performance in a Motherwell jersey by a country mile. I dont care if he can only give us 60 minutes every week as long as they are 60 minutes of quality like that.

First half was excellent. You could nit pick about Balmers distribution and one or two other loose passes, but overall we were well worth our 2 goal lead at HT. Unsurprisingly the second half was a much harder watch. Ferguson had to ring the changes and they were able to exert more pressure on us as a result. I thought we initially stood up to it pretty well, but after Thompson missed his chance and they went up the other end and scored, I feared the worst. I felt after Halliday and Slattery went off we lost our ability to get forward as effectively and we got a bit too deep for my liking. We rode our luck a little and Im still not sure about their offside goal despite having seen it about 20 times. However, we have been wronged in the past by decisions like that so happy to take this one. We dug in and got the result we deserved in the end. Tonight is going to be an enjoyable one. I might even get the good whisky out! The exciting thing is it is still early days with this manager and there is so much more to come from this squad. Stuart who?

My auld man made sure I was going to be a Motherwell fan before I had a choice. Got dragged to my first game about 3 or 4 years old and had my first strip about 5, when replicas were a bit harder to come by. Never really had to opportunity to thank him properly for it, but we did get to celebrate the 91 Cup win together, so will always be grateful for that. Its funny how supporting a club gets under your skin. I live in Ayrshire now and, whilst I do have a passing affection for both Kilmarnock and Ayr, if Motherwell folded tomorrow, I couldnt ever feel the same way about supporting either of them. Anyway, Up The 'Well! Intae these mutant zombie barstewards! 😆

It still blows my mind that Arsenal didnt give him a chance, let alone loan him out to us! It was so obvious after 2 or 3 games he was levels beyond us! Wish him all the best!
