  1. Exactly this. Bair may not be a natural goalscorer, but he plays the lone striker well. If others benefit from his hard graft and we score goals.and win the game, then Im cool with that.
  2. Hard to pick one player today as everyone played their part. Spittal and Slattery were excellent first half and continued to work hard 2nd half. Thought young Lennon played well especially as Hearts seemed to target him for some roughouse treatment. Bevis had a really good game and didnt make any mistakes that I could see. However, for me, big Casey was the driving force throughout the game and particularly in the second half. His desire and will to win is infectious and you can see it spreading to the rest of the team. Well played Dan the Man!
  3. Couldnt get a ticket for the game today but managed to catch a stream. Excellent first half performance. We played some very good football and gave Hearts lots of problems. Think we deserved to be ahead at the break. Hearts changed shape 2nd half and benefitted from more possession, but we defended very well for the most part and still looked dangerous on the break. Spittal really should have made it 2-0 and I would have fancied us to see the game out from there. McGinn was very unlucky to be sent off. His first yellow was borderline and his 2nd is very unfortunate. He does get the wrong side of Boyce who is very clever and works the situation to his advantage. Unfortunately the ref buys it. Great backs to the wall defending second half. Everyone putting their bodies on the line to defend what we had. Thoroughly satisfying 3 points and another step along the way to SK forging his imprint on this team. Enjoy the international break folks. The view is very nice from up here!
  4. I really like SK. He comes across as supremely confident in his own abilities, clearly has a plan for what he wants and doesnt let any outside influences deviate from that. Not everything he has done has or will come off, but he explains his rationale for things making it hard to argue with any decision other than witht the benefit of hindsight. If this is what the players are taking from him then the run we are on really isnt any surprise. There will he bumps along the road, but given the resources at our disposal I dont think we will be in any trouble this season with him at the helm. I fancy us for a point in this one. Hearts are always difficult at home and our record there isnt the greatest, but they are coming off a hard European trip and our boys will be confident. FT 1-1.
  5. He hasnt had a better offer yet or he would have signed for someone already. I wouldnt give up on him just yet. The rumour was Fletcher AND Ollie Shaw. It wasnt an either or.
  6. Fletcher wanted more than 6 months and I dont really blame him. At this stage of his career Im sure he cant be arsed having to potentially find another club again in January. That doesnt mean he didnt want to come or still wont. But the club are right to try and get the best deal for us and he is right to try and get the best deal for him. Sometimes to two dont match up, but I hope we can find a way to make it happen. Him and Biereth in the second half of the season would be some prospect.
  7. I think its fairly clear now that Bair is a project intended to be back up to Wilkinson/Obika who were to be paired with Biereth. The fact that we have made an approach to Fletcher kinda confirms that, otherwise we would just go with Bair until Wilko is fit again in 3 or 4 weeks. Obika is obviously a longer term injury. I just hope Oli Shaw has a bit of pace about him if he is the Biereth cover. Otherwise we will remain 1 dimensional without the option to change it up and go in behind. Still think we need a LWB but other than that I dont see us adding anyone else. I know some would like another MF or CB in, but with the numbers we already have in those positions, I dont see that as viable unless Efford and McGinley go out the door as well.
  8. Penney hated it here. He couldnt get back down the road quick enough. Cant imagine he would be in any hurry to return, change of manager or not......
  9. Bair and Biereth were both predicted a good week before they were announced, so hopefully still time to get things done before the window SLAMS shut! 😉
  10. There may be still question marks over his signings and the long term development of the squad, but he has 100% earned the right to some time on that front and also to get his team selection / tactics wrong from time to time. In short, I believe he knows what he is doing and I trust him to get things right eventually. Hopefully once this week is over things will settle down and crystallise for us as supporters.
  11. Stolen from P&B, but I will just leave this here.....
  12. We are unbeaten away from home under SK. That doesnt mean we will win obviously. It IS a difficult place to go. But so are Parkhead and Easter Road. We also did something Hearts failed to do today and took a point at Dens. A lot will depend on their result in midweek. A tiring trip to Greece in the heat will take a lot out of them. That will he a lot easier to cope with if they win, than if they come home after a disappointing defeat. I wouldnt be writing the 3 points off just yet, but Id shake hands on a draw just now.
  13. I think its just less letters to type than Scottish Premiership......... 😆😆😆
  14. I thought the only ones with pass marks in the first half were McGinn and Slattery. Second half was much better. Slattery had a good game overall barring the pen miss and his fitness looks miles better this season. McGinn was solid all game. Casey and SoDs had good second halves, as did Spittal. But the game changed with the introduction of Paton. He dropped into great positions to take the ball and moved it on intelligently. Capped a great 45 with a very calm finish. Definite MOTM performance.
  15. McInnes did a real job on us today in the first half (not for the first time) and there wasnt a single part of the team performing effectively as a result. Killie were well deserving of the lead at HT and it left me questioning where we were really heading this season. Credit to SK. It was a bold move to change things at HT and tear up his gameplan, but it worked a treat and Harry Paton had his best game in a Motherwell shirt. We bossed the second half and thoroughly deserved to win the game, despite missing the penalty. The squad is threadbare at the moment due to injuries, and I think we beed a couple more in before the window closes, but SK and this team keep answering the questions placed in front of them Long may it continue!
  16. Rumours are that Fletcher has signed and we are looking at Ollie Shaw. Id guess that means Efford will be away? Getting hooked at half time today doesnt bode well. Spencer had a good second half today, but he looks more naturally right footed. Wonder if we are in the market for a natural LWB or if we are just patching up until Soare is fit again? Given our injury woes, we have made a good start to the season. But it will be interesting to see what other business we can get over the line before the weekend.......
  17. Lamie off to Dundee on a seasons loan. Given that it has pretty much been one out, one in, hopefully that means our mystery striker can be announced now!
  18. Agree with this. For all our media input is visually eye catching at times, I would just like to see highlights. Just 5/6 minutes of the goals and main talking points. I dont always catch Sportscene and with the League Cup games being on Viaplay theres been no access to even that. I would have thought there is scope to provide both.
  19. The best thing about Alan Campbell is his attitude. He may not feature much for Luton this season if the manager prefers other players. But he wont let it get him down. He will focus on the next challenge and take it from there. I liken him very much to John McGinn. I remember one match at Easter Road wee Al had him in his pocket. McGinn was always a good player, but I never thought for a minute he would captain a Premiership club and be Scotlands most important player. Not saying wee Al can reach that level, but there are parallels there and it wont be for the lack of trying.
  20. Just in the diddy cup. Nothing to worry about. Our injury list on the other hand......
  21. Welcome back! 😉 Edit: Ok, it wasnt for long, but the real David is still in there!
  22. It was a horrendous tackle. Its a red card in my book. That wasnt my point.
  23. No. I just quoted my own post instead if editing it......
