  1. I was half considering going to the game as the run has to end sometime and it would be magnificent to be there when it does. Then I saw they are charging £32 and I swiftly changed my mind! Just have to try catch a dodgy stream and ignore the Rangers TV commentary!
  2. Ive no idea why, but I feel as if we will get something out of the next 2 games. Dont know if it will be this week or the following week, but I dont think our total for the next two games will be zero. Would love it to be this week and to break our league hoodoo in the Temple of Doom. Hopefully a disappointing result in midweek will heap the pressure on Beale and we can use that to our advantage.
  3. Nothing wrong with anything youve said there. Its just the emphasis thats wrong. Shaw isnt up to speed and all our other strikers are still injured. If SK is still picking Bair in 6 weeks time then I will support your critique. Until then, lets just accept the boy is currently the best we have and get behind him. If he scores the winner at Ibrox next week off his shin, Im sure we will all celbrate like madmen.
  4. Are we just ignoring Biereth? Hardly SK's fault he is unavailable to us. His replacement Shaw is not long in the door and has had a couple of cameos from the bench. Bit early to be writing him off. Signing Obika is up for criticism based purely on his injury record and there hasnt been much from Wilkinson to give encouragement. But based on his previous career / stats, he wasnt disimilar to KVV. Bair is the one that everyone was thinking WTF, but honestly, he has been way better than I thought he was going to be. Nothing startling but a big honest laddie that will run about and try to create space for others to fill. Todays result isnt really a surprise given our injury woes and McGinns suspension. The fact that we were able to still put in a decent performance and just couldnt take our chances is what is frustrating. I think once everyone is back fit we will be in a strong position. Just need to try and grind out a few results until then. The next two weeks will be tough assignments.
  5. He had been here 3 weeks and it was his first start. I would have stuck with Miller, so that decision was on SK not Davor. If we dont throw him in now in the middle of an injury crisis, when do we? Bair has also shown he copes better up top on his own than he does when he has a playing partner. He just needs to worry about his own game then. I certainly wouldnt argue with playing Shaw up top on his own, but dont think Bair has done too much wrong to be dropped.
  6. Assuming everyone injured remains so, and McGinn is suspended, I would go....... Oxborough Spencer SOD Bevis Casey Gent Davor Slattery Miller Paton Bair Not the worst looking team and with more dynamism feom the fullback areas we should give St Mirren a different problem to solve than last time out. Our big issue is off the bench there wont be much left to change it up other than Shaw for Bair or a midfielder. Hopefully Spittal will make it as he is our most important player so far this season.
  7. The cost of VAR might be worth it if it resulted in better refereeing decisions. The fact that it is demonstrably not makes it feel like more money pissed up against the wall......
  8. Surprised to hear that Efford was a "top earner" at the club given that he was essentially still injured when he signed his extension. I had thought it was another case of the club looking after a player until he was fit again. Given some of nuanced chat from some posters, it feels like there have be some strange decisions taken within the club over the last 12 - 18 months.......
  9. Was it any different when Walter was at The Rangers?
  10. I fancy us for this one. No team talk required. We are in good form, at home and with a score to settle. 3-1 Motherwell.
  11. Exactly this. Bair may not be a natural goalscorer, but he plays the lone striker well. If others benefit from his hard graft and we score goals.and win the game, then Im cool with that.
  12. Hard to pick one player today as everyone played their part. Spittal and Slattery were excellent first half and continued to work hard 2nd half. Thought young Lennon played well especially as Hearts seemed to target him for some roughouse treatment. Bevis had a really good game and didnt make any mistakes that I could see. However, for me, big Casey was the driving force throughout the game and particularly in the second half. His desire and will to win is infectious and you can see it spreading to the rest of the team. Well played Dan the Man!
  13. Couldnt get a ticket for the game today but managed to catch a stream. Excellent first half performance. We played some very good football and gave Hearts lots of problems. Think we deserved to be ahead at the break. Hearts changed shape 2nd half and benefitted from more possession, but we defended very well for the most part and still looked dangerous on the break. Spittal really should have made it 2-0 and I would have fancied us to see the game out from there. McGinn was very unlucky to be sent off. His first yellow was borderline and his 2nd is very unfortunate. He does get the wrong side of Boyce who is very clever and works the situation to his advantage. Unfortunately the ref buys it. Great backs to the wall defending second half. Everyone putting their bodies on the line to defend what we had. Thoroughly satisfying 3 points and another step along the way to SK forging his imprint on this team. Enjoy the international break folks. The view is very nice from up here!
  14. I really like SK. He comes across as supremely confident in his own abilities, clearly has a plan for what he wants and doesnt let any outside influences deviate from that. Not everything he has done has or will come off, but he explains his rationale for things making it hard to argue with any decision other than witht the benefit of hindsight. If this is what the players are taking from him then the run we are on really isnt any surprise. There will he bumps along the road, but given the resources at our disposal I dont think we will be in any trouble this season with him at the helm. I fancy us for a point in this one. Hearts are always difficult at home and our record there isnt the greatest, but they are coming off a hard European trip and our boys will be confident. FT 1-1.
  15. He hasnt had a better offer yet or he would have signed for someone already. I wouldnt give up on him just yet. The rumour was Fletcher AND Ollie Shaw. It wasnt an either or.
  16. Fletcher wanted more than 6 months and I dont really blame him. At this stage of his career Im sure he cant be arsed having to potentially find another club again in January. That doesnt mean he didnt want to come or still wont. But the club are right to try and get the best deal for us and he is right to try and get the best deal for him. Sometimes to two dont match up, but I hope we can find a way to make it happen. Him and Biereth in the second half of the season would be some prospect.
  17. I think its fairly clear now that Bair is a project intended to be back up to Wilkinson/Obika who were to be paired with Biereth. The fact that we have made an approach to Fletcher kinda confirms that, otherwise we would just go with Bair until Wilko is fit again in 3 or 4 weeks. Obika is obviously a longer term injury. I just hope Oli Shaw has a bit of pace about him if he is the Biereth cover. Otherwise we will remain 1 dimensional without the option to change it up and go in behind. Still think we need a LWB but other than that I dont see us adding anyone else. I know some would like another MF or CB in, but with the numbers we already have in those positions, I dont see that as viable unless Efford and McGinley go out the door as well.
  18. Penney hated it here. He couldnt get back down the road quick enough. Cant imagine he would be in any hurry to return, change of manager or not......
  19. Bair and Biereth were both predicted a good week before they were announced, so hopefully still time to get things done before the window SLAMS shut! 😉
  20. There may be still question marks over his signings and the long term development of the squad, but he has 100% earned the right to some time on that front and also to get his team selection / tactics wrong from time to time. In short, I believe he knows what he is doing and I trust him to get things right eventually. Hopefully once this week is over things will settle down and crystallise for us as supporters.
  21. Stolen from P&B, but I will just leave this here.....
