  1. Aye saw Sportscene. Defo offside. Wasnt that obvious at the game. Spittal must be really quick! 😆
  2. Furlong and McGinn had very good games. Kelly had a very good first half but had little to do seconf half. KVV got his goal and had some great runs. Max had a great last 30 mins. But our MOTM by a distance today is Blair Spittal. How some of our fans cant see his quality is beyond me.
  3. It was Collum. But McLean can still over rule him.
  4. Well, that was a thoroughly enjoyable day at the fitba! Well, the second half at least! Great early start with KVV getting the 11 in a row, but after that we regressed and allowed United to dominate the possession and eventually the chances. Would need to see the pen again, but didnt think Bevis did too much wrong and Fletcher certainly never claimed for it. However, we can hardly complain as they missed a barrowload of chances and Kelly pretty much kept us in it to half time. Second half started poorly and their 2nd goal is far too easy. We were cut open like a hot knife through butter. Pretty much shows on its own the importance of us keeping on Butcher and Casey! After that though I thought we were brilliant. The subs helped with more urgency in our play and we created more than enough chances to deserve to win the game handsomely, even taking into account our poor first half. Need to see the disallowed goal again, was hard to see much wrong with it but there was so much going on it was difficult to tell. Nice that Max got the 3rd to make up for it, and from his celebrarions he definitely looks like he is away. On Kev. Great to get the 11. Should have had the 30 when Goss had a simple 5 yard pass to him for a tap in and somehow played it behind him. And the Slattery free kick? I know he scored a perler at Kilmarnock but if Im KVV theres no way he is hitting that! All in all, a satisfying close to the season. Big changes in the summer and Kettlewell will have to prove himself all over again by re-shaping this squad in his own image and hopefully maintaining the performance and consistency levels since he came in.
  5. That would be sweet! Karma paying him back for giving Moult that pen at Tynecastle!
  6. Ooft thats a sore one. Wouldnt wish injury on any player, despite any perceived wrongs to the club re his departure. Could be out a while with that one though. Shame, as he was looking back to his best this season and must have been back on the radar for a Scotland call up given the injuries to Paterson and Ramsay......
  7. Beautiful sunny day. Whole stadium decked out in claret and amber. Wee Tommy getting his well deserved recognition. Hopefully a positive result, some goal records broken and the chance to say thank you and goodbye to the players that wont be with us next season. Get yerself along to the game!
  8. Old manager signs for new club and is off the wage bill. Move along now nothing to see here.....
  9. Cheesy peeps! Doing well to get a draw against the bottom team in the league and worst defence? It might turn out that way, but to predict it is beyond parody!
  10. I will take that as long as his hat trick is 3 minutes! 😆
  11. I think Kev already has enough records this season. Surely he can leave that one for The Saint! 😆
  12. Sunday is the KVV show. We will score at least 2. How many we concede depends on what defenders are fit.
  13. If you remove KVV, Spittal is probably our POTY! As for SOD, he hasnt played for months but since he has been brought back in he has done absolutely fine.
  14. I think its an 8 goal swing. If Killie were to beat County by 3 or 4 then United need to beat us by 4 or 3. Highly unlikely but not impossible.
  15. Tonight is all about KVV. He needs 1 more to surpass Higdons 27 goals in a season and 3 to match his 26 league goals. Of course that would take him to the 30 mark, which no Motherwell player has achieved in my lifetime. I did try and find what Willie Ps best stats were but there doesnt seem to be any web based info that I can see. Best I could see was anecdotal evidence that he scored 20 league goals in 74/75 season and bettered it the following year with 22. From memory though pretty sure though that Higdons figures were beyond that of the great man. Anyone confirm this?
  16. Arfield would be a very good short term signing. He has a level of quality we dont really possess in midfield. How he would fit into a Kettlewell squad, Im not sure. But if we were able to get him it would be a bit of a coup. Similar to back in the day when we got Cooper and Russell when everyone thought they were finished. The level of experience and winning mentality they brought with them helped the rest of the squad.
  17. Think they said yesterday it was a 2 match suspension? Hopefully Deano is ok. Leaves us a little short on the bench with Paton and Slattery both unavailable though. Might mean McKinstry or Tierney getting a run out later on.
  18. Thankfully Im working for this one. Remove any temptation to go along and suffer watching us on another horrible plastic pitch. Be nice to keep another clean sheet and get 3 points to tie up 7th with a game to go. As long as the manager continues to keep the players focussed and not drop our performance levels, we should have a good chance. It wont be pretty, but our record there is good. KVV to get another and tee up Saturday for his big finale!
  19. Not at the game today so cant comment on the quality of it. But from all the stats we deserved the victory. More possession, more shots at goal, more shots on target, and most importantly we scored and they didnt. As for VAR, incredibly, it looks very much like Willie Collum got both penalty decisions right, in our favour! Good to see KVV getting his goal to get the record for "the premiership era". Hopefully he scores in the next too to beat Vidukas record and burst the 30 mark!
  20. This. No risk attached. Saw enough in the brief glimpses we got last time out to show he has still got it. He has had an op on the ankle that was causing the problem and has been in training for 12 weeks without negative reaction. Much rather give Louis the chance to resurrect his career than have to suffer another season of Connor Sheilds. No harm to the boy, but he is hardly ripping it up with Queens Park in the Championship.
  21. So how do you know what level you can get to if you just stay at home and never leave your own garden? You need to test yourself. The only way you can do that is getting out and pitting your wits against different teams from different leagues.
  22. It was a funny colour, but we won a league title wearing it, so it has good memories!
  23. Oh please! A reprise of the Ian Clinging fleur de lie strip would be awesome!
  24. Shoot for the stars! If you only get the moon, its still some view! We can always come back to earth with a bump when its all over!
  25. I see what you did there. That was a rare joke! 😘
