It was a funny colour, but we won a league title wearing it, so it has good memories!

Oh please! A reprise of the Ian Clinging fleur de lie strip would be awesome!

Shoot for the stars! If you only get the moon, its still some view! We can always come back to earth with a bump when its all over!

I see what you did there. That was a rare joke! 😘

Dont see Casey and Butcher having any problems handling him. Should be a good match up......

County usually play pretty well at Fir Park and are more than capable of giving us a bloody nose if we are not right on it. Cant afford another first half like Saturday. Need to hope the team are focussed on 7th place, the prize money that comes with it, their win bonus and getting KVV over the line.

Ive generally liked the kits Macron have done. They seem to have been fairly easy to deal with to get us something a little more bespoke than the off the peg stuff we have had to make do withnin the past. But Id quite like to see us get back to just changing the kit every couple of seasons and offsetting that with the away kit changing in the season in between. Probably an old fashioned view and not something likely to happen in todays world, but would be interesting to see how the sales numbers compared. Most folk cant afford 2 kits a season and will just pick the ones they like best. Or wait until the end of season and buy it in the sale!

Ach, get the kit out! We can all buy it without the desecration! 😍😍😍

Poor effort, whatever way you want to slice it up! 😉

The steaks were high for both teams so it was good to have a player in the team willing to chop their attackers and stop it from being a truly offal result!

He did put in a few "meaty" challenges!

The Europe debate is a bit pointless. Its never an either or. You get European football from having had a successful league campaign or from winning a cup. Both avenues raise the clubs profile and finances and allow us to sign better players. Neither can be sniffed at. The issue we have had in the past is that we have not capitalised on the step forward. But the more experience of these situations you get, the better decisions you can make going forward. As for the finance issue. That was only a problem a few years ago when we ended up having to travel to Krasnodar when the UEFA prize money at that stage didnt match the travel costs. UEFA have since upped the money for earlier rounds and regionalised the draw to take account of this. Partly why we have drawn so many Irish teams lately. Anyway, we didnt get Europe this season, so I now look forward to a strong League Cup campaign and the road to Hampden!

If your younger than 43! 😆😆😆

Not a vintage performance today, especially first half where we seemed totally incapable of finding each other with a pass. But is was still a very solid defensive performance and I never felt at any point that St Johnstone had us under any pressure. Kelly barely made a save all game and big Butcher was just immense. Need to see KVVs disallowed goal again, looked pretty tight and they took an age again to confirm he was offside. We were a little bit better on the ball second half with improved performances from Spittal and Mandron in particular. Much like last week we had the chances to have finished the game off long before we did, so it was a bit of a relief when Mandron scored a well deserved second. Re who we want to see go up and down, I know a lot of us want to see the back of Killie and Livvy because of their plastic pitches, but was that really any better today? Bumpy, uneven, players slipping all over the place. Dont think Ive ever seen a decent game up there. Given Killie is 10 minutes from my house Id much rather see them stay up than St Johnstone!

Defensively we are so much more solid. A lot of that is down to Butcher & Casey, but the change of shape and organisation is all Kettlewells doing. Huge plaudits for that. Gonna be interesting/exciting to see how he rebuilds in the summer and if he is able to add some layers football wise on top of the solid defensive structure

I know we won again, but didnt think any of our forward players had anywhere near their best games. Particularly first half. Thought the much maligned SOD had a decent game. But big Butcher was immense though. Never put a foot wrong. Won literally every challenge. MOTM by a country mile!

Its also important to think about the long game. There is still the potential for expansion to European Leagues which the big 2 will have their eye on. If they have B teams in place it leaves them in a stronger position to bugger off in pursuit of the big money whilst retaining a presence in their national league. I know the fans managed to beat off the European Super League idea last time around, but it would be naive to think that those looking to broker it have gone away. Clearly Rangers and Celtic wouldnt be invited to the top table initially, but theyve always had eyes on opportunities to get out of Scottish football......

Great minds and all that! 😍

Our record against Kilmarnock wasnt much better until last week! 🤩🤩🤩

100% against this. Totally flies in the face of the sporting integrity of the pyramid system and intereferes with the ability of non league teams to he promoted on merit. It only benefits the big 2 who cant or wont develop players through their own first teams. Hearts and Aberdeen will undoubtedly piggy back onto it. B teams should be in the reserve league, pure and simple.

The club crest didnt exist until the 80s so its hardly traditional. I do like the crest, particularly as it retains the connection to the steel industry, but like the hoop/band, Im not wedded to it as other incarnations existed before it. For example, I think the MFC script worked very well on the last blue kit....

I wouldnt disagree with that. Puttng the ball in the net is the hardest part of football and therefore the most lucrative when it comes to buying and selling assets. If you measure KVVs goals purely on league position this season and the prize money that comes with that, its not unreasonable to suggest his value to the club on that alone could be £500k. Add in what we might need to spend on a replacement and you quite quickly get to somewhere near 7 figures. The club will be aware of that though and they need to balance looking after the club with the happiness of the player. KVV might well have been happy to be patient for another 6 months after the Chinese deal fell through, but if we get an offer he really fancies in the summer and we turn it down again, he may not remain so philosophical about the situation. Given Kettlewells comments today though, I dont think we will be letting him go for buttons.......
