  1. Its ridiculuous that segregation doesnt include top and bottom tiers of a stand at a neutral venue. Absolutely nuts in fact. Especially when the accessible tickets appear to be that side. Given how reluctant their fans are to give the SFA any of their money, will they even sell out their allocation?
  2. Thats a really terrible contract negotiation then on behalf of the SPFL. That essentially does the club hosting the game out of money they could have made by streaming the game direct. If all they want is the ugly sisters, fine. Pay for that and we share the revenue. But dont pretend you are interested in the other clubs and then cant be arsed actually covering the game. Where is the benefit to Motherwell and Dundee United there? Just feels like a bone Premier Sports can through their subscribers at no extra cost to themselves.
  3. Given that its a national cup competition and Premier Sports presumably outbid other channels for the rights, the clubs really need to grow a set next year and insist they treat every game as seriously as they would if their preferred clubs were involved.
  4. It was. Yet there were still idiots booing him from the East Stand even before he scored. I wouldnt have applauded him onto the pitch. But booing him on is just wrong after what he did for us.
  5. This was the day my hatred of Rangers was born. I was 9 years old and my father had to carry me across the pitch to safety to avoid the missiles raining down on us. Absolutely disgraceful stuff.
  6. A bit like SOD, Casey has been a revelation this season. Whatever they did close season has to be welcomed as both have come back looking fitter, stronger and quicker than they did last season. The big man has nailed down his place again after what by the current incarnation, was an underwhelming season last year.
  7. This will be a good test of where we are at this season. St Mirren continue to impress, but are clearly better at home than away. Hopefully we get a bump in the crowd after Friday night. Lets keep the feelgood train on the tracks!
  8. Happy to avoid Celtic. Not sure there is much to choose between Aberdeen and the dead club right now, so preference probably comes down to who we think has most chance of beating Celtic to provide a pathway to winning the cup. All things equal, I think the Jimmy Thelin bandwagon seems the most likely, so cant really complain. We played reasonably well against them at Hampden in the league and this time we will have a bigger support and hopefully a few more players back. We can but hope and dream. Time for new heroes!
  9. Lots of good performances tonight. Casey and Wilson both had very good games. Robinson put in a shift again and finally got his goal. But Lennon Miller was an absolute shining light. Absolute class in everything he did and topped it off with the winning goal.
  10. Thoroughly enjoyed that tonight. Vales injury restricted our starting lineup and as such the first half was quite predictible. We were resolute in defence, Yinited played some nice stuff without hurting us and we looked dangerous at set pieces. The goal changed things for us and I thought second half we dominated until they made their subs and Moult got his obligatory goal. We responded well though and I felt we throughly deserved the win in the end. We are still a work in progress and will be much better once we get our injured players back, but given SOD and Vale are the latest victims of the curse, who knows when that will be. Man, this whisky tastes good tonight!
  11. I read it the other way around. Celtic and Rangers games have it. Ours and Aberdeens dont. https://www.aberdeenlive.news/sport/football/aberdeen-ditch-var-spartans-clash-9569061
  12. Much as I love Moses and believe he deserves a start, Im not sure tonight is the place to try it out. Robinson does a lit of running and occupies defenders in a way I dont think Moses could. But for me, that means we should change our shape. Obviously notnhappening tonight, so will be happy if Miller is dropped back to his natural position and Vale pushed much closer to Robinson to give him some support. Not fussed whether its Tavares or Maswanhise on the other side. They are an obvious swap after 60 mins either way.
  13. Really looking forward to this now. Really pleased the efforts of the Well Society and the Club have payed off and it looks like we are gonna have a healthy attendance for what is actually quite a big game for us. As Steelboy points out we havent had a home quarter final since 2018, so they are not things that come around all the time. Since the 2 cup finals, our cup record has been pretty poor. It would be nice to rectify that tonight and get the win that takes us back to Hampden. Its a lovely night for a game under the lights. Lets get right behind the team from the off! Up The 'Well! 🧡❤️🧡
  14. To be fair, that particular post was more in response to Wellfans post than yours......
  15. Apologies. I thought you were suggesting sales for this game were poor and that we should be selling more tickets than we have.
  16. For context. In season 93/94, the season we should have won the league, our average home attendance was 7894. That was inflated by 4 full houses of 14k v Celtic and Rangers. Our lowest attendance was a midweek game v St Johnstone and was 4527. The majority of attendances were between 5 - 7k. Prices were lower, there was little to no live tv away supports were decent. And that was our best league season in living memory.
  17. I do agree that a pay at the gate option would make things more convenient for some to attend, but Im not sure its an impediment to attending. It was an issue at the weekend, but as far as Im aware you can buy an e ticket right up to ko for this one. We have done the safeguarding issue to death. The club has taken a position on that as all other clubs have had to do. Derek says the Block E issue has been resolved. So maybe, just maybe, numbers are being limited as the game is live on tv......
  18. Im not sure what you are basing your assessment on. Obviously, I want the home crowd to be as big as possible. But 4000 plus home fans when the game is no longer on the season ticket and the game is live on tv, doesnt seem that poor to me. We only have 4500 season ticket holders so pretty much all of them are coming. I remember when big cup games would draw around 10k. But there was no tv in those days so the only way to see the game in full was to go to the match. How many tickets do you think we should sell?
  19. Some really petty point scoring going on here today lads. Some of us are trying to stay out of it and talk about the fitba. Where we all stand on Kettlewell has been done to death.
  20. Be interesting to see who they go for now. Will be a big steer on how they see the direction of the club.
  21. Fairplay to pick that up out of the interview. I had to listen to it back twice to get my head around what he had just said!
  22. Not surprised Levein has been sacked. Maybe just a little at how quick it has happened. Maybe the new American owner flexing his muscles and wanting his own man in? Just goes to show that experience isnt everything.
  23. Good video. Maybe a bit OTT for a cup quarter final. But given the drive the Society have been on to try and increase the attendance, it cant do any harm. Not sure it will work with the game being live on tv but the naysayers cant complain about effort or intent. Well done.
