I thought Butcher and Casey had very good games and young Furlong dealt very well with Armstrong and never gave him much of a sniff. Spittal was involved in most of the good stuff we played. But for pure class KVV has to get it. Some of his first touches were sublime and he was unlucky not to have scored a couple before he eventually did.

I didnt like the black kit as it felt more like a training kit. However, I do think a black away kit with the appropriate amount of claret and amber trim or bands would look smart. Something similar to the turquoise kit but in black would work well.

Thought we were worthy winners today and thoroughly deserved the 3 points. Killie never really looked like scoring from open play and we defended pretty well for the most part. Their best chances came from set plays. That said, you are never that comfortable at 1-0 as you are always just one deflection or a Polworth worldy away from disappointment. Thought it was a bit of a masterclass from KVV today. Some of his touches were out of this world and he coulda/shoulda scored more than the one. Not quite sure what was going on at the end. He seemed very emotional for some reason and certainly appeared to be taking a moment to himself. Looking forward to his highlights reel on Sportscence.......

I dont think we are quite there yet. If we get the win on Saturday Id be more than happy to see some youngsters get a chance. But it shouldnt be wholesale changes. Lennon Miller definitely deserves a start to see what he can do as I dont feel as if there would be any significant drop off in quality from him. In fact it could be quite the reverse. We also have a responsibility to give KVV a platform to hit the 30 if its possible. It could be a long time before we get a striker in that position again. I expect we could see a few from the bench depending on how our last few games are going.

4800. If you fill the bottom tier thats still a fair effort. Should be a good atmoshpere!

Looking forward to this one. Been a few weeks since Ive been at a game and Killie will probably bring a decent support up for this. There must be a fair bit of confidence about the squad, particularly with KVV in such good form. As long as we keep the performance level up we should win this one. However, if drop it even 10% we could end up like St Mirren. We need to guard against that and make sure it doesnt happen.

I was aware of the goals record, but not of the circumstances surrounding his death. Very sad........

We only need 3 points to guarantee safety. 3 draws will do fine. Absolutely sure we will get them Given recent form we should do better than that.......

There is absolutely no way we should be letting KVV go for £200k. The hardest thing in football is to put the ball in the back of the net. The guy has 12 months left on his contract. Unless its silly money we should ensure he fulfills that. That way he needs a good final season because it will ensure he goes for free and the big money goes right into his pocket. Anything else is madness!

The other side are just as bad these days. They used to just be insufferable self entitled bigots. Now its the "you lot relegated us, we dont forget" nonsense. They are the Donald Trump of football clubs......

Be interesting to see how the fixtures pan out. Not sure how the computer system works, whether its just a random selection based on certain criteria fed into the system, or whether the league deliberately try to keep the interest going right to the end of the season? Anyone at home in the first game will do. I agree avoiding United right now would be preferable as they seem to have hit a rich veign of form. That said, I think we would have learned from last time out and with a weeks rest before the game, our energy levels should be back up to where they need to be. Lets try get that final win in the bag at the first attempt.

I was at work. There was a lot to catch up on.....

Your always very balanced KMc and I dont disagree with any of what you have said at all. I think thats where the nuance of the situation comes in that I referred to earlier. If you look at KVVs goal yesterday check the distance between him and any Motherwell player when the pass is played, and I guess that was the same for much of the game given the opposition. Yet he chases the ball into a channel gets control of it and turns his man inside out to score. That just wasnt happening in the middle part of the season. Now, that might just be down to good man management, and I take what you say about KVV carrying an injury, but, it was interesting to hear Kettlewell talk about egos and not showing poor body language in moments of disappointment. Could it be he has identified the problem and dealt with it in a positive way? I accept now with hindsight that all of that has to be on Hammell, because whatever Kettlewell is doing now, Hammell couldnt/wouldnt. Regardless. Im delighted to see the big man back to his unplayable shithousing best and look forward to him smashing the 30 goal mark for the first time in my lifetime before sailing off into the sunset on a 7 figure fee! The difficulty will of course be replacing him.......

Positivity wins! Kettleball is here to stay!

KVV. The mans on fire........

Didnt see the game today, but caught the highlights. Looked like a really solid defensive performance which was good to see after last weeks small blip. Absolutely cracking run and finish from KVV for his goal and unlucky too with the other chance he created for himself. Ketlewell has clearly turned this squad around. Hopefully we can get the early win from the last 5 games that we need to settle MJC's nerves and allow the club to start planning for next season.

Inability to see nuance is your downfall....

There were several games when he didnt do any running at all. No one denies his value to the team. No one says he should have been dropped. Everyone realises his goals have kept us up. But the difference in body language, effort and general application now compared to January is night and day. It doesnt make you a hater to offer constructive criticism when you can see a senior player could be doing more. Personally Im delighted that he has rediscovered his mojo. I desperately hope he smashes the 30 goal mark and gets POTY. I just find it amusing how anyone offering constructive criticism of a good player gets it tighter on here than the boo boys who just slaughter players indiscriminately..........

Spittal is a bit like Goss, in that he is a decent footballer, but not so great on the defensive side and prone to switching off and dropping his man. He has been much better under Kettlewell than he was under Hammell or Alexander, probably because Kettlewell has set the team up to get the best out of the players he has at his disposal and cover up for the deficiencies. With Tierney and Danzaki, the only obvious replacemements, both still coming back from injuries, there is no way Spittal will or should be dropped for this game. We need some sort of creativity in the team and if we dont go 2 up top today, as is likely, then he is the player most likely to get up in support of KVV. He is far from perfect, but a far better player than some of our support give him credit for.

To hate Celtic more than Rangers is quite a position to take. I used to dislike them both equally. But 2012 changed that dramatically for.me. Their utter inability to accept that their owner had been financially doping them for years and blaming everyone else and their granny for "punishing them" was sickening to endure. . The blue cheek are way out on their own for me now. Beating them in the play off finals was one of my favourite experiences as a well fan, closely followed by spanking them in the 2017 League Cup semi final.

Wont be going. Not spending £30 to sit in a corner behind a pillar. Id shake hands on 1-0 Celtic right now and move on.
-
Sure thats not The Rangers you are talking about? 😆

I dont disagree with that. But nullify means to cancel out or stop any opportunities we could create. Im not entirely certain that Kettlewell wasnt quite happy to allow them to have a lot of tge ball on Saturday and try and hit them on the break, confident in the knowledge that they are a bit powderpuff up front and unlikely to harm us if we defended in numbers. I thought that it looked a decent plan for the most part as the game should have been out of sight by half time. We were still definitely short of the standards we have maintained of late and could/should have made better use of the ball at times, but we werent miles off it. An extra 5-10% and we win that game. Anyway, all semantics. We didnt win the game and need to use it as a reminder that we are not good enough to drop our standards even 5% because this is what happens.....

No outstanding candidates. Was between KVV and Max for me. Went for Max purely because Ive given it to KVV the last few weeks!

Are their any of our managers that you have liked? Ever? McKinstry hasnt been getting played as he doesnt fit into the system that got us 5 wins and a draw from 7 games. He got on yesterday because we were losing and the manager had to try something different. He hasnt been frozen out (unless you are ITK) the manager just had to pick a formation to save our asses.
