As has been said, credit where credit is due. Had a look at it at close quarters during the week and a marked difference between the present and of that at a similar time last year when we had our club photos taken in our new kit.
Unlike last season, where use of a geo-grid was evident - not that it was wrong, it gave the impression that the surface was a little bare at closer inspection.
Paying heed to specialist advice, the fibre sand installed looks to have shored up the pitch, making it hold together much better. Grass looks more plentiful offering the lush surface that we see from the vantage points in the stands. Genuinely fantastic drainage, it's keeping the moisture in the soil for longer is the key, well, that and keeping trigger fingers from the 'on' switch of the heating system...
Gone all of a flutter there, given my criticism in recent seasons. We know it's only early, and the onset of what could be another harsh winter started on Saturday, we have a surface befitting a team who's best of the rest - keep it up.
