  1. literally? In a literal manner; word for word: so, Aye, obviously... not. I knew I should have stuck in at school and not played truant. Pesky remedial classes, didn't teach me about hyperbole.
  2. The pitch went into a downward spiral after the last match, surely to give the pitch the best chance they will refuse to use outwith permitted first team matches. Well, that and a mild winter...
  3. Don't think anybody said they would ? Most up there would have you believe they shop in Marks and Spencers anyroads... As mentioned before, would still take an act of local government/parliament to switch land uses. Greased palms at the Civic Centre? Not uncommon 30 to 40 dwellings at most? they're not gonnae pay big for that? I'll bow to your superior knowledge. An average price per acre was stated without consideration of other factors. A little research shows figures in excess of that claimed for areas of similar size, suggesting we may command a larger sale price too. Too many derivatives for the guessing of calculations, eg, current financial climate and developer requirement. I'm happy the board have stuck their head above the parapet and at least investigating avenues for change.
  4. It certainly wont raise any less, maybes why the delay? Mock this one up, get the usual knickers in a twist with red, white and blues of...
  5. Luck! Tesco purchased with a view to constructing a superstore, ended up they bought the land for their property portfolio as they built elsewhere in the area.
  6. Another mould-firm double header, home to Rangers on Boxing Day then a trip to the San Giro on the Wednesday.
  7. Eh? Take your time thinking that one up? There would be 7 acres as quoted elsewhere would there not? The ideal of the developer (as I understood it) was to obtain the land Fir Park is on to open up the development to the south as current access to/from Windmillhill Street along Knowetop Avenue and Dalziel Drive is restrictive to say the least. Most understand, any likely sale of Fir Park to fund a new stadium not adding up (there, Stevie Wonder seen that on his third drive-by), suggesting, the club are likely to be looking at various partnerships, most likely community. Methinks some need to get with the programme, the devil will be going to work in his ice skates before any redevelopment begins at our current base...
  8. ? Apart from the sale of Fir Park to fund a new stadium not adding up - which a blind man running for his life could see. What utter tosh. As told to me by a member of club hierachy towards the end of the 90's, the club had a bid tabled by a landlease company in excess of what you have quoted. Moves also made under the previous Chapman stewardship... Demolition of the stands and any remedial works? Sold as seen is it not? Many existing items have re-sale value too, albeit many small scale although many an asian of slanty-eye would be doing cartwheels at the amount of steel. The board have woken up and smelled the coffee, hence, the requirement for change. Evolution? Embrace it. Progress? You'll never stop it. How, very, erm parochial. Too many trying to grasp onto halcyon days that have long since passed Fir Park by... Would the club be what it is today had we stayed at Roman Road? The logistics of your wish just doesn't compute, there are deep rooted problems (many that non-rank and file would know of) that are making the calls for change.
  9. Plenty castigated on here last week for similar... Charity begins at home for me now - hell, I pay £2 per month to underpriviliged kids in Africa and they spend it on f*ckin' trumpets!
  10. Careful, what you wish for may just come true Kit to be delivered minus sponsor and available above the normal RRP...
  11. ? Lay off the fizzy juice and the smarties kid.
  12. Maybe just sworn to keep schtum? Keeps the knicker twisters from here going overboard. It's hard enough trying to get a scoop when Mr Brown is in charge... PS, had that from 2 differing sources. That lucky, I could push for 3 or 4 without pestering (save those who do and they know who they are ) for confirmation on the next titbit. You want a PM, just to keep you in the loop likes?
  13. Maybe could have worded that better... thoughts behind it are Jack Ross was always a non starter no matter press suggestions to the contrary, hence the question mark. Doesn't fit with the ethos of development which we've had at the club for some time. May upset the sycophants, but, I don't expect (If he is I'll doff my cap to the management) to see Reynolds replaced due to those mentioned who are already contracted and the addition (one of 9) of Dario Quinn who featured in numerous squads in the latter part of the season and one Craig Brown couldn't wax lyrical enough about just recently.
  14. Jack Ross? Been mentioned, both good news and bigger and younger

    Hateley

Nothing to do with being hawked around clubs the length and breadth and no takers eh? But, like global warming, I'm all for it.
  16. Imagine the apoplexy on here when they wear something different for the friendly matches
  17. All you... Please refrain from any Jack Ross based hysteria, not even on the radar. Bigger (and younger) fish
  18. Why would they only send the broadcasters the first round of fixtures? Is it not the done thing to programme/take the piss out of the paying punter every six weeks or so? Pinch of salt methinks.
  19. Seriously? Heaven help us...
  20. Although our manager has been heard to claim 'if another two players arrived in January, we would have sealed 3rd place'... He's also talked up those signed from the development squad. An unprecedented 9(?) signings that have to be tempered with decent experience, although, I feel this will mark the majority of any signings made. The highlighted statement sums it up for me, Davidson? Goes against the grain does that, unsure Mr Boyle would back such a move. As for the McGlinchey move, he picked up an injury and his signing was a view to getting him fit for the World Cup. I'd suspect the move suited both parties with little outlay from the club.
  21. He was dishing out tickets in our hotel on the morning of the match... Failed to say they were free! Needless to say his employment ceased not long after... Brilliant trip, mayor insisted game was moved to the Sunday afternoon due to the Bunnik(?) Side running amok versus Twente a few weeks previous. Meant some fans missed out, meant some were like a kid in a sweetie shop in the Dam on the Saturday night mind. Was a member of the Dover '8'. Sadly now the Dover '7', Shawsy no longer with us.
  22. Forgot to mention, some fella named Ruddy will be making an appearance... Could be his last at Fir Park unless we have somebody on a Euromillions jackpot or a Russian gas/oil baron frequenting the boards. Our only fundraising event each season, be good to see some faces to add to the names on the site. As MJ says, transitional season with a favourable outcome. Onwards and upwards for next year
  23. Aye, so lazy and arrogant, them at the San Giro/Knew Camp haven't approached anybody! It's agents willing to work on his behalf and state a claim for such a role at the San Giro/knew Camp... He knows the game does Mr Brown. Wouldn't be like the old fox to have tipped the media a nod now would it? Say, for an increase in budget?
