  1. Another. Dreadful winter? Not only at Fir Park... Snow had lay for approximately a week prior to our St Johnstone fixture, cleared, the pitch looked and played well. Postponement of the Hamilton match meant the pitch was to be rested for the next month. Snow had thawed by the middle of the month, shouldn't have provided a problem in itself because it had been cleared, but... a series of errors and problems well documented later, point to poor ground maintenance. 2 years to properly bind and knit together? Again, pains me to say it, our nearest and dearest in South Lanarkshire constructed a pitch in similar timescale to ourselves post removal of their field turf and tarmacadam formations. Barring shortening of the width due to a undersoil heating malfunction and a little 'help' from the local authority in postponing fixtures this year have a pitch comparable with the best in the league at Ipox and the San Giro. On a much smaller budget too. But, we had a dreadful winter... The head groundsman is hopeful. See you all in the Green Green Grass of Home Thread 2010/2011!
  2. Head groundsman Ian Wilson... Be as well dropping the £100k down the nearest manhole.
  3. You would like to think so... The launch of the Motherwell FC PUMA 2010/2011 Home and Away Kit sees the club join the portfolio of PUMA contracted clubs including; Newcastle United, Burnley, Sheffield Wednesday, Cardiff City, Reading, Bristol City, Coventry City, Hibernian, Bath Rugby Union and England Rugby League.
  4. Unless that particular cross border loophole has changed... Chris Porter moved northwards with no fee involved, saying that, we received a token fee when Ross McCormack moved to Cadiff or was that a 'Risdale' move more than a 'Bosman'?
  5. It's 'the better fan than you syndrome' so prevalent of the board sycophants I questioned. Mock Outrage. Again. Would disagree on validity of point, the thread opened as 'Never Been So Proud' or is it me who's missing something? Don't use my club as the vehicle you think it is for bigotry - defined as 'the intolerance and prejudice'. 'thick-fuck-short-comings' - your retort not make you the bigot then? Continually back up who? 'you dont know who you are messing with' type of crap... Eh? Maybe you could quote and back your spurious claim? Thought not. As experienced, the aforementioned are battering their keyboards with the hand on the dummy in report of those who may follow a little risque/churlish/downright illegal* path of support. Much as you would like to think, doesn't mean any less fervour in their support for our club. A succesful campaign of 'shouting down' has gone before, if the sycophants feel that strongly, why not at the time? As for your closing words, you obviously know of me to use personal insult to suit your conclusion on more than one occassion. At least you had a go at me and not the family... Says more about you than it does of me, feel free to drop in your name. *delete as you wish
  6. Neither am I thick, a ned, orange, be it member of one of the loyal orders and/or addicted to fake sun rays or a c*nt as you allude to. Second time you've made personal slate at myself, something I hope the fine administration will have dealt with... Why not send a pm? Could even reveal who you are, maybe even have a word in my shell-like? Not the point I was trying to make and I suspect you know that... Nearly 2 days post-match and another holier-than-thou assessment of a section of our support. Hence, knickers in a twist and the look of outrage. Again. It's early yet, not many have sided with your outlook. Again, another attempt by a board member to ingratiate him/herself with the mile-outs, wankjobs and bullied at school who frequent shows sign of epic failure. GSTQ
  7. Deary me... maybe if you left our stash of plant food alone. Check. Done to death some weeks ago...
  8. Not wanting to piss on your parade... An industry insider I've spoken to would like to know where in Scotland has 4th generation type been installed? Facilities under construction at the moment don't feature this either Level of existing infrastructure doesn't allow for it. It has to be constructed on flat formation.
  9. Here we go again... So why don't you...
  10. Well don't think... The gradient from all points to the North West corner of our ground would rule installation out. Imagine, untrue bounce as it is, without untrue bounce due to factors increased by the slope of the pitch.
  11. After seeing the poorly maintained pitch on last night's news programmes... Same for both teams, but, I've felt it's played poorly with recent games being worst than the next. Hope it doesn't effect a negative outcome.
  12. Well, the tower currently forming part of the college development was to be exactly that... like the car parking facilities, a design error methinks.
  13. They project manage kit supply for a host of teams, and have ability to source from all suppliers. So likely to have a collection of catalogues from other manufacturers, no? Saying that, the pussy to feature on our next kit will be the only pussy some on here are likely to get
  14. Always brought up on 'you don't change a winning team' ideal. Suspension and injury aside, our squad, thin on the ground as it is, doesn't fit well with those favouring rotation. So why?
  15. Sorry, disagree. Done to death previously as I recall. Merely 'creative accounting', drawing on the financial help available from European Community funding et all. I'd expect NLC to channel investment there as we have a private developer owning our town centre, yes, one who trumpeted to all and sundry massive plans for regeneration and failed to deliver, hence, currently for sale to any mug with more money than sense. What have we now? Poor retail choice and an open-air meeting place for any Eastern European/African waif and stray with £3 Tesco jeans, leather jacket and brand new mobile phone. Steady decline for what? 30 years now? Trying to grasp onto halcyon days from a golden age long since left our town will do little to deter progress. Surrounding towns in Lanarkshire benefit from the poor facilities on offer here, East Kilbride, Hamilton, dare I say it, Airdire (apparently about to announce NLC regeneration plans) and Cumbernauld forever being mentioned as ear-marked for investment. For me? Embrace the likely change, make the most of what could be for us.
  16. You been on the plant food or what? Hammell has shown of late some of his best form in a Motherwell shirt and deservedly extended his contract for 2 years.
  17. Eh? Not the point I was trying to make and you know it. Acts of nostalgia and folly are what I was getting at. Some interesting designs from Scandinavia (the club have noticed too) and decent debate, outweighed by the clamour for staying put and redevelopment of Fir Park, not the logistical nightmare involved. We've even had calls to turn the pitch (don't get me started on the surface) sideways! But, hey, if your wish is to ingratiate yourself with all the mile-outs, bullied at school, crisp packet headed scrounger and diminutive types on this board, batter in. Methinks if you were to check previous threads on similar subjects, I've been an advocate of when and not if we move to the other side of the West Coast Main Line. Hell, in previous employment (no, not when I was a paper boy) I was introduced to a member of the Motherwell staff at a project launch for Ravenscraig who informed me 'the development agency are falling over themselves to have us up there as a focal point" and "offer on the table for Fir Park to open up the bigger development at Motherwell College". As mentioned previously, many a change in policies and behavior of society supercedes. As the recession dictates, focus will have shifted somewhat. I still believe it will happen. Fanbase? Largest brownfield site of it's size in Europe, come the revolution, as I've mentioned before, the club have to embrace it. Attracting those who settle in the area? Construction of proper 21st century facilities may be the first step...
  18. Yes, didn't count for anything then and similarly doesn't now. Certainly won't stop certain quarters talking absolute codshit on the subject.
  19. And? Seem to remember Huddersfield(?) fans where Jutkiewicz had been on loan not being too complimentary... You'd never have Lucas out our team!
  20. Anybody had a reply to their email? Just dropped in my inbox... Fraser, Thanks for your email. I note your comments and can understand your frustration. However, I find it surprising that you do not see an excellent chance of European football and an extra home game against Hibernian as a benefit of being in the top six. The limitations of the split means fixtures sometimes have to be reversed and, on occasion, a club will have 18 home games and 20 away games or vice versa. In terms of matches being moved, the TV cameras can visit a ground a maximum of six times in a season which strikes a balance between the wishes of the broadcasters and the need to maintain Saturday afternoon football for the supporters. Motherwell had four TV games before the split and two after it. One of these is a midweek. This season, due to the early finish imposed by FIFA due to the World Cup, we have had additional midweek cards but there will less pressure on the fixture card in 2010/11, fixtures for which will be published on June 17. For more information please visit on the post-split fixture process, please visit our website http://www.scotprem.com/content/default.as...0&back=home Kind regards David David Ogilvie Scottish Premier League Hampden Park, Glasgow, G42 9DE tel: 0141 620 4140 (switchboard) tel: 0141 620 4156 (direct) fax: 0141 620 4141 website www.scotprem.com e-mail davidogilvie@scotprem.com Tongue Fu! I think they call it in the business... He finds it surprising that I don't see a chance of European football? Here's what I asked of him... Yet, clearly on this occasion we look to have been penalised and then some. I believe our rivals for the at stake European places have been granted an unfair advantage with this unequal set of fixtures, makes a mockery of the term 'competition', wouldn't those in power agree? And, especially for ourselves, after we have, against the odds, earned the right to another home fixture with one of the Old Firm, failure to now qualify for European competition invites more financial downturn. Has me feeling the reward would have been actually finishing in a bottom 6 berth! More than one home fixture against other sides who are fighting for their lives with larger crowds as a result... C*nt. Highest order.
  21. It probably would if they tested themselves in a league where it's about more than just turning up...

My award goes to Grammy, with Jennings, at the heart of everything we did well yesterday. No poor performers at all, I'd also like to mention Hammell for another strong performance and Craigan who epitomised everything expected of team captain - his show to the fans at the end was another highlight to my day.
