  1. Was sat with our ex-reserve keeper Gary Gow's brother who later became my boss for a time. Met him recently and he recalled that very day We hadn't won in about 6, usual lambs to the slaughter jibes all week. Claims he feared for his life when I introduced him to the rogue element... on the account him and his mate were shettlestons! Brand new heavy knit jumper, highly desirable at the time and not by schemies as it can be now, returned as a manufacturing fault - the sleeve had misplaced stiches along the shoulder... on the account of the local dibble There's been many, one particularly sweet one was an early nineties relegation battle with Falkirk at home, Mio at Easter Road, the equaliser the night Dougie notched a double at Ibrox, though, the volume of celebration at Easter Road when Fitzy scored the winner...
  2. Most budding keepers at the wee fellas footy and have clocked plenty at the match. On the christmas list version.143 in our house the noo.
  3. The very same... and the reason I'll probably have to miss this one out. The viewing area from the boxes are covered by a black mesh, thus, giving a distorted view and like watching anything Billy Reid has tactically (we'll use this term loosely) set up, likely to give you headaches. Hamilton offer seats directly in front of your allocated box, out in the open, zero segregation and stewarding and to say the locals are vermin despise all things Motherwell is an understatement. Similar situations arise most games, I believe nothing has changed since May, sit on your hands if you must take up the offer.
  4. Sorry to quote just the opening paragraph of your post Jay... aside, I'm sure Mr Gannon will realise he got it wrong. You mention Hateley as being out of form, the local press has Mr Gannon stating Hateley as outstanding last week and is questioning those on the fringes of the squad where I agree problems may have arisen through lack of competition for places, hence, the knicker wetters choice Lasley not being returned to the fold. When? We've been beaten once in the league and cup. It's nearly November
  5. Versus Berwick Rangers, Fir Park. 1979/80 season? Sure it finished all square at 1-1. Imagine the knicker wetters on here if the score was smilar in present times?
  6. Sure, considering some of the coverage of yesterdays match. Easily entertained you lot must be... I would take the closing down of players as a basic, it's apparently turned your lot into an attacking force! As daft an ideal as Falkirk being a 'footballing' side the past few seasons. Then we have the majority route one, but, hey, that's now creativity? Don't get me started on the questionable tactics to snuff out O'Brien... how many tackles from behind, playing the player and not ball yesterday? I'd have been happy to preserve our unbeaten away form pre-match yesterday as (even at 3-1 down I felt we were onto at least a point) St Midden have been picking up points in a similar fashion without the plaudits we have had come our way and as others have struggled below, this early into the season both outfits look relatively safe from any dogfight likely to blight our near neighbours. Millions more to come from ourselves and yet doubtful of securing top six as we are definitely in the early throws of a work in progress, can anybody at St Midden really say the same?
  7. If that lot make the top six, I'd consider calling time on football.
  8. Burn_Broomfield won't like his next door neighbour being mentioned
  9. Celtic not wearing them for the late Stephen Gateley? Well, with him being raised and living the 'Sellick' way...
  10. Well there is that and the ruling none of our players are allowed to wear ridiculously coloured footy boots
  11. Well, if the traffic is as bad as Saturday past, I'd be taking another route. Had family to collect on an airport run at 2pm, despite trying every dodge in the book to skip traffic as I was unaware of the lane closures it took nigh on an hour to navigate! Missed the first ten minutes of the match on my return.
  12. Similarly, many many times over the years. On the whole, a pleasant experience. For me, Mr Wark blotted his copybook though in a Friday evening kickabout on the training pitch at Fir Park a few years ago. An arrogance I certainly never expected against some of the clubs' support has left a bad taste since. Compare that to Wullie P who played also that night - the epitome of class, always was, always will be. Apart from the usual sycophants, I'm sure I won't be the only one surprised that weegie tink McCormack managed to manouvre his head through the doors at the Shawlands Hotel last year.
  13. As we've had before, can the reference to a certain licensed establishment in the Motherwell area be removed. Walls have ears and all that malarkey... We know the licensee would be most obliged.
  14. Hopefully after the international break
  15. As for the original poster... Wanted to see the Rapid fans? Arse. Why complain about the policing and stewarding when you ventured well out the way to attend the San Giro tonight where policing and stewarding is notorious beyond belief? Shown your true colours methinks. You should have been at training m'lad and you know it! He wasn't the only one... Your little cohort will be outed anaw! Ultras my hoop! (nae pun intended) Uddingstons' Andy Jack is the head Ultra and you knows it...
  16. Yes and took the piss fresh from Ramadan! You know, the one time of the year when muslims cannot eat during the hours of daylight... they just f*cking starve. Never has the term 'not enough hours in the day' been more appropriate.
  17. So you've quoted the only highlights. Don't think Mr Gannon shares the same viewpoint somehow... Doubt he'll return O'Brien to full-back when he has the fully fit duo of Slane and Humphreys at his disposal, but, what does he know?

As discussed previously:- http://www.steelmenonline.co.uk/forums/ind...?showtopic=4302 The owner of the sports shop was advised and has since procured the items.
  19. I'd love to see this Jim O'Brien play at Fir Park. Myth.
  20. A bit rich that, people who were making monkey chants at players confirmed McGhee was being called a f****n. More claims that were unfounded. Don't let the truth get in the way of some more mock outrage...
  21. Anal. Quick! report this to the nearest steward! Is there anything else you can get your knickers in a twist over?
  22. Right, who's to blame for asking the little African how his wife has hands so soft without using fairy liquid? Well, she is only twelve or thirteen...
  23. Firstly, figures of what terms players have offered or earn should be discounted. It would surprise many what Motherwell actually offer... The Slane story has been mentioned more than once, our information has it his father is doing his bidding and has turned his head to untold riches at the San Giro and similarly to that of James McCarthys' father, it helps not having to put his hand in his pocket at whatever republican drinking hovel he finds himself in. Now, as I'm biased (hell, I'd wager neutral outsiders looking in would view this the same) and taking money aside, why would you hamper proven development and the possible future rewards for your offspring? You would question personal ambition too. As for O'Brien, word from his hometown differs to the opening post. A recent spell in the media suggests different too. If only he was as good as is lauded too on this board...
  24. When the movers and shakers on this board wake up this morning you better get that tin hat on m'lad.
