  1. Behave. To think the club held the aces is folly. The theory you think it’s true because you believe it to be doesn’t align with how it works. There would be an optimum fee, that’s been realised. Club seldom get these decisions wrong.
  2. We didn’t have that bargaining strength. Before we see some more heads gone and wild takes - being current top scorer was an irrelevance.
  3. He played holding midfielder in period I was thinking of, season 19/20. Appreciate the research, the team coming out on top wasn’t my point. I’d doubt I was the only one who came away from those fixtures reckoning Gogic bossed Campbell.
  4. Whilst I’m not convinced of any current link to ourselves, I’ll put my tin hat on as his stoating about the pitch like a headless chicken in Lanarkshire derbies had Allan Campbell in his back pocket time and again.
  5. Merit in some of that. Doubt those currently training/on trial will wait till the summer.
  6. Cat right amongst the pigeons there…
  7. On the face of it, can understand the merits there. No guarantees he’d have signed a renewed contract if we’d matched their offer though. Club don’t get many of these moves wrong, I’m inclined to keep faith in their decision here.
  8. Again, not the point being discussed. Nowhere was it mentioned Watt wanting to leave in January. A general ideal that, were the club to decide he goes next month any proposed or percentage there of transfer fee would meet cancellation of the existing contract. Widely recognised how that works. There will be an optimum figure at play.
  9. Simply gave an observation, nothing confrontational in that. Certainly no need for personal slate, but, not the first time you’ve resorted to that. How would I know ‘if the paying up of said contract would still occur even if Watt wanted to leave and was in favour of the move?’ As much as it’s highly unlikely, I’d suggest no in that scenario, it wasn’t the point being discussed and given some of the wild takes I’ve read of late, yours is up there. Too many variables, how the club choose to end this particular contract will be known soon enough.
  10. Not the point being discussed, but, you batter in. Has he done this? Certainly don’t think or believe that to be the case. Never assume. How are these little sweeteners funded? Dare say in many cases percentage of transfer monies…
  11. Footballers’ contracts are generally paid up in full differing from standard employment types. Transfer fees can be determined by this and are used in this way. Not just on your posts, do some really think our club hold all the aces here? I certainly don’t expect anything out the ordinary of a transfer fee and not for the sums being quoted on here. More to it than that, ‘it’s all about Tony’… Let Alexander be ruthless.
  12. Behave. The question was already answered in another post following yours. it’s not an insight that others don’t have - just an understanding how footballing contracts work. Mindful that they differ greatly from standard employment types. A different world.
  13. Fanciful notion. With the best will in the world nobody on here likely to understand the inner workings of the professional dressing room. Think you may find performance on the park differs greatly from the application off the pitch and on social media platforms. Club well aware of this. Bring in some cash now? Think folks need to realise bulk of any cash sum will only serve to pay the players’ contract up in full.
  14. No he didn’t. ‘retain a significant element of your cost base and have virtually no means to commercialise the event’ is a world away from losing money. No fans, no games was the stance - where in that does Celtic having played a part in the thinking?
  15. just answer the question… Still not seeing where we’ve been shafted or losing money on this?
  16. Shafted? Financially disadvantaged? Do certain folks think Burrows states club position (its a collective too, with some influence around him) on various platforms without that level of understanding? From my reading, didn’t make it about finance - was about fans attending. The rights and wrongs over the SPFL ruling is a different debate. Now with ScotGov covering percentage cost and an insurance policy that works in our favour - it’s not out the question we’ll be in a better spot financially - accounts will align with this.
  17. Poor analogy that. Even by your standards, your dislike is beyond the pale. Did he knock you back for a reacharound?
  18. The über fans, Twitter groupies and fleece wearers who think they should be on the board will say different demanding the lion share.
  19. Tell her I’m asking for her! Top, top lady
  20. Most likely. Not seeing him at any of ‘em though given those prospecting in the summer.
  21. Difficult for some. Change has to be managed.
  22. Everyone who wants to get in the away end will.
