  1. spot on at what? Symptomatic of our poor recruitment. If he’s the long term option for any replacement of Alan Campbell I suspect we’ll be revisiting the thoughts of his admirers soon enough...
  2. Re-hiring so far not enough of an idea of what to expect?
  3. No different to when Hampden was converted for the Commonwealth Games? Move to another stadium? Certainty one of Ibrox/Parkhead will be empty...
  4. This is the rebuild? When you saw the shortlist of candidates he seemed like the one who might have fresh ideas...
  5. Doubt I will, be missed by some & not by others most likely. New regime, so it shouldn’t be of surprise he’s moved on - let’s see how they view development moving forward.
  6. He’d have been my pick for the job certainly with a view to the longer term. I’ve been consistent in my approach, just failed to catch the same enthusiasm of some at his soundbite. My point on Saturday reflected losing 4-1 against the bottom team twice in a month as not learning from mistakes & selection and formation against St Johnstone aligning with not managing change - not setting up to be more compact and harder to beat was folly. Fair to reserve judgement.
  7. Don’t think you’re too far away. I’d be interested to see how the management view development moving forward. Well aware of current predicament & the need for balance - surprised if Semple and the likes were to get game time. Think the kid has regressed. I’d suggest he’s way down the pecking order. Time will tell.
  8. It’s the balance of options in the middle rather than enough. Foley now back in training, a loan opportunity now unlikely. Plenty of willing takers, rightly or wrongly - have to trust the club have seen his development best served around the first team environment.
  9. After match comments an honest assessment? Screams not learning from mistakes and managing any change to me.
  10. To be fair, the previous claret kit knocks the 2028/18 offering out the park.
  11. Not to piss on your parade, that wasn’t the last claret kit? 2018/19 had the Roma influence I'm sure.
  12. Close. Goes by the name ‘Justin’ and is a winger.
  13. Hard to gauge as most have spent this season kicking their heels? Interested to see how the management team drive the development moving forward rather than the soundbite offered thus far.
  14. All about minutes in the legs for most. Lawless the only January signing with game time. Trialist played also.
  15. He never you know. Was brought to the club having excelled in a wide position during youth football.
  16. Well, bit personal that. Thanks for offering little to the debate, glad you aren’t on our coaching staff.
  17. A poor one. Reasons given elsewhere. His inclusion for me is symptomatic of poor recruitment last summer. I’m not sure he’d make the first team of many in the same league.
  18. There may be something in it. I don’t know. It’s certainly not used as a tool to appease the mock outrage of some. List I seen posted on Saturday morning looked professional (albeit not from the club) and was shared amongst a fairly big circle. Details certainly aligned with information club had given with a few extras. Fairly certain Burrows offers reply when asked... We’ve been unlucky with types of injuries. Had we competed in last 2 fixtures I doubt it would be up for discussion.
  19. I work on the ‘don’t let appearances fool you as there’s always only one reality’. You’ve mentioned one game. His efforts in others were way below what was asked of him. Another swayed by an ability to cover a bit of ground & not do a lot. I’d doubt he’d even feature were Donnelly fit and capable. Are you seriously saying having O'Hara available on Saturday with all the players we had out would have improved our chances? Certainly not with the formation played. That has little to do with any bite as you put it. By your own admission Alexander has to find out who are the players he can trust. My hope is he has sussed out using a sizeable amount of our budget on a so called utility player who doesn’t fit much utility into his game is folly.
  20. As mentioned, with O’Hara it’s concussion related. Grimshaw has had glandular fever. Smith - knee, Foley - back & Nolan - calf.
  21. Poor analogy. Both different types of player so it’s a notion easily dismissed. Running around a lot doesn’t make you an asset. Now, running around a lot, tracking others, improving positional sense & not being caught in possession may, just may convince me he has attributes. Some folk are just easily pleased.
  22. Granted discipline and battling qualities are not the same thing, not the point I was making. Definitely no evidence of either in my opinion. He got stuck in? That should be a given. Unsure how anybody can come to the conclusion he’d have saved us from any capitulation on Saturday. Not to hide? Well, certainly offered little influence on games by and large, Campbell has been so far removed from his natural game for so long this season, it’s been painful at times.
