  1. Deary me, your use of analogy is absolute cod-shit. I suppose it makes a change from you getting skelfs sitting on the fence as with most subjects. 'It doesn't matter what club he played for in the past its what he did whilst there and more importantly what he does at Fir Park' another quip that joins the many others used on occasion on this board. Yes, I mentioned the obscurity of non-league football, but, failing to see how Hull City when purchasing the Scottish International full-back, tried and tested at the top level available to him can be used to describe our signing and his use in an another role with an admittedly limited contribution so far. I've not seen evidence of his player of the year status/figment of imagination and when asked, he's split the opinion of those who have seen him. But, hey, we'll shoehorn him into playing off a lone striker... As I am with Faddy's debut, I'm well aware the club could not allow sentiment to cloud its judgement. As you said both the club and Faddy himself decided the time was right for him to move on - a move, all be it reluctantly, I supported. And if you READ my original reply and not just LOOKED at the words you would have seen I never advocated at any point in having him offered a new deal.
  2. Think you've taken my point out of context. It was nothing to do with not giving the boy Law a chance & I certainly never mentioned having someone on the wage bill for their influence... And another... Firstly, where am I being unfair on the lad? Agreed, if our manager knows his father, it's immaterial. Doesn't hide the fact he played right back for a non league outfit and you have him as a gain in the replacement of our James. Easily impressed? I've been fortunate enough to have seen the player in around 6 game situations & training drills and yet to see that he looks fit enough to be able to play a full 90 minutes week in week out. Seen characteristics to his game that may well be a family trait, so in hope more than expectation, feel we may have ourselves a gem that has arrived relatively low risk. Secondly, our James, we don't really know of his influence? Players and other members of the staff must all be peddling similar untruths then? As others also mentioned, McFaddens' contribution is clearly discounted by some and I believe we've already seen his contribution last season was severely underrated. Nobody was attempting to live in the past, nor were they advocating retaining him for influence alone. Sad, but, true.
  3. Incredulous! Whilst nobody more than 'the man' himself will be disappointed in his form of last year, I wouldn't discount the influence he had on those around him at other times wether just giving his team mates a raised belief in themselves or improving those learning the trade. Failing to see where a plucked from the obscurity of his right back berth at his fathers' (and close friend of our managers') non-league outfit will likely be a gain in losing our James. Utter, utter folly.
  4. Aye, wearing our club colours on a football pitch all at the one time!
  5. So have we such a thin squad or strength (ish) in depth? I'd suggest the former. As for experience at the back? Aye? What we need is some pace given at least two are about ready for pasture!
  6. Always has been about hope rather than expectation for me. Doubt I'm the only one who couldn't be any less enthusiastic if we tried about the season ahead. Not too enamoured by what has become of our pre-season, but, my general malaise is around Scottish football. Nothing new, it's poor fare on so many levels - from the corridors of power, finances, the mould-firm and all things inbetween to the thought of at least 3 fixtures against sHamilton.
  7. Erm, naw, but, if it suits how you want to think, batter in.
  8. Well, I don't think we were the only ones who clocked the erm, disagreement between Stuart McCall & Erwin around the hour mark in Iceland... Que, Keith Lasley moving forward to play off Sutton. His use of Angol is to the likely detriment of Thomas as we move forward too, given the little on offer going forward and I'd wager he won't ever give Hammell a challenge even in his poor vein of form (I use this terms 'poor' & ' form' loosely as he was abysmal in Iceland and has escaped a lot of flak on here). For me? Fortune favours the brave, if the kids are good enough they are old enough. Blood them.
  9. Not discounting that, was thinking more of the 'pace' element.
  10. Can have as much time to gel as they want... away from first team duties. Hutchison simply has to be replaced, a blind man running for his life can see that on the evidence of the games both non & competitive so far.
  11. Not up on differing application techniques as it's other items of clothing/footwear that get me moist Would say, while not embroidered, it has a sticthed patch feel... if you catch my drift. Whilst I like the product, the detailing leaves a lot to be desired and those who project manage the operation should be held accountable. I'd surmise somebody at the club approved this also. The reproduction of our crest is wrong and yet full price is being asked for. First poor preparation, the Icelandic debacle, now this? Where will it end?
  12. Not so much in how it's applied, it's incorrect and as 'Wellfan 2k7 mentions 'chunky on the inside folds of the ribbon'.
  13. Probably up underboyleheatings' street this one... Hadn't taken a closer look at the wee fella's kit till Saturday night, has anybody noticed an anomaly in the club club crest? I'd be highly surprised if his was the only one. Detailing on the outline is very wrong. Still not calmed down since returning from Iceland so this could well be the last straw
  14. Not so sure. As much as he was heralded as the best player in the successful County team the previous season, he wasn't deployed in a similar role so management staff never used him effectively in a holding berth. In their defence nor did he show any sign of improving his game and adjust to a new system similar to Keith Lasley in the past.
  15. Can only echo that. When we have long since failed to find a suitable replacement (recurring theme?) for Steve Jennings, Carswell looks to have all the attributes although asked to perform another role...
  16. Not quite getting the fans without tickets. I've returned with 2 briefs and I wasn't the only one who had spares to offer. £70 for that crock o'shit. Mug. Gutted doesn't come close, I'm squeezing the last out of my trip in Stockport tonight with family so will reserve judgement for now. Fair to say, I'm glad I never travelled with the charter... Blind loyalty isn't backing the team! Don't get me started on chicks with dicks
  17. Raped & pillaged I think the chairman of the erm, amateurs will describe it...
  18. If they are (mind, given my limited knowledge on licensing restrictions, it's still against the rules), I'd doubt they'll be any hassle with kids being in for the match.
  19. Same flight as yourself and some others. As mentioned previously, had planned to visit the Blue Lagoon before heading onto Reykjavik in early afternoon. Looking likely to miss out on both fronts. Tonight Matthew! I plan to don club colours, full kit and mingle when the official party get off their coach and gain entry - Well, it works for Bob McHugh...
  20. I am, I may well do. Interest has been on the wane for some time, their loose claim at the fan/player relationship recently further compounded my indifference.
  21. Have a few who were on the books in recent years covering various shifts in varying roles. Namely, Dougie Ramsay works with a survey design company (owner is the main backer at Troon juniors where he last played and offered him the work), David Gormley with Auchinleck Talbot, Kenny Connoly also junior and have bumped into Ross Forbes regularly undertaking safety critical work of a Saturday night.
  22. Has he taken a step back from being on the clubs' board of directors and the benefits it would briing which he was afforded on his election as Society chairman?
  23. Much the same thinking underboyleheating. Hard to gauge how many are travelling though. The unwashed only took 200 last week so maybe some scope. What's for us won't go past us... Will it?
