  1. According to the Aberdeen sites, the game is all ticket. Has anyone else heard that? Seems a bit strange as hardly likely to be a sell-out and will discourage people turning up on the day.
  2. Unless there is a sudden sutained increase in our gates, or a fairer distribution of money in the SPL, then there will be no additional funds to use on purchasing players and that will be no different from the vast majority of SPL clubs. Even if there is a "saleable" asset the days of £1M+ deals are gone. We've been down the "throw money at big names" route and we're lucky still to be here. As weesacs pointed out we will be up against League 2 and Conference Leagues trying to get players and depending on their personal circumstances they might not want to uproot their families and move. I can see a year (or possibly more) of pain whilst we "blood" youngsters with perhaps the odd journeyman to provide experience and in one way that might benefit us in the longer term. McCall is on a hiding to nothing, the team he puts out is basically our strongest 11 with nobody on the bench that offers anything to change a match.
  3. Where do we go from here ........ we pick ourselves up, we dust ourselves down and we get on with it!
  4. The best bit for me was the fact that as the smoke started billowing across the field, the announcement over the PA was to remind fans that no smoking is allowed within Fir Park. Perfect timing ....
  5. Has there been a change to the site? I can no longer view any of the topics without now having to sign in. It's not a major problem but was always handy at work just to click on and see if there's anything new.
  6. I would have thought if you have a Season Ticket you should get into the U20 games for free.
  7. Phoned the Club this morning also will need passports when buying.
  8. The club say it will be Wednesday before they go on sale
  9. Beware of Greeks bearing gifts .....
  10. The Board of Motherwell FC asked members of the ‘Well Society and shareholders to vote on the question of whether Motherwell should vote to allow a ‘Newco Rangers’ to remain in the SPL in 2012/13 season. The results of the ballots returned were are as follows: Yes: 119 (18%) No: 542 (82 %) Votes not returned: 247 According to the earlier post earlier Motherwell FC had not issued the results as they were preparing a statement and Leann D was out of the office. So where is the statement? Also the count took a long time supposedly due to the large number of votes cast, according to this there were 671. Not exactly a massive amount that it took 3 days to count. Western Isles and Argyll and Bute can count the electoral votes covering a wide geographic area quicker than it took the Club. So do the Club think we are mushrooms and happy to live in the dark and be fed ....
  11. Wonder whether in all their budgetting the Club has allowed for refunds of season tickets and Well Society money? Or do they think fans are bluffing?
  12. Have to say I like the statement from Aberdeen's Board. At least one Board is prepared to listen to their fans and make their position clear.
  13. Basically SFA has decided Rangers are going into Division 1, no matter what anyone thinks ... Rangers newco: Plans for club to enter Scottish Division One BBC Scotland has learned of plans being put in place that would allow Rangers to move directly into Scottish Division One in the coming season. Rangers FC plc are soon to be liquidated and Charles Green's consortium are reforming the club. But Green's Rangers newco has not gained support to replace the old club in the Scottish Premier League. And senior Scottish football figures are proposing that Rangers start season 2012/13 in the second tier. There are also plans for the SPL and Scottish Football League bodies to be merged into a new organisation called 'The Scottish Professional Football League' in 12 months' time. The main points of the propsals are: · Rangers are to be relegated with immediate effect and be replaced in the SPL by Dundee. · Television rights for Rangers matches in Scottish Football League Division One are to be bought by the SPL for £1m. · The SPL and SFL will merge into one body at the start of season 2013/14. · Play-offs between the top two divisions will be introduced in time for the coming season with one team from the top flight and three from the second tier competing for a place in the following season's SPL. · There will be an increase in the parachute payments made to clubs relegated from the SPL. · Changes will be made to the distribution model for clubs in the top two tiers with teams in the lower leagues earning a similar amount to the current set-up. · A new pyramid system will become effective from season 2014/15 that will allow a potential place in the new league format for a team from either the Highland league or newly-created 'Lowland League'. · Rangers newco acceptance into the Scottish FA would only be approved if they accept responsibility for the football debts and fines incurred by the previous club along with their waiving of rights to a legal challenge. It is understood Rangers chief executive Green has been "briefed" by Hibernian chairman Rod Petrie on the plans to gain their approval. All these changes have to be approved by SPL and SFL clubs over the next few days.
  14. Have heard that Club 12 has announced their strip for next season - you only get it in red and has a brass neck.
  15. The money is split , based on league finish, as follows, so it shows how heavily it is biased in favour of the OF: 1 – 4% + 13% = 17% 2 – 4% + 11% = 15% 3 – 4% + 5.5% = 9.5% 4 – 4% + 4.5% = 8.5% 5 – 4% + 4.0% = 8.0% 6 – 4% + 3.5% = 7.5% 7 – 4% + 3.0% = 7.0% 8 – 4% + 2.5% = 6.5% 9 – 4% + 2.0% = 6.0% 10 – 4% + 1.5% = 5.5% 11 – 4% + 1.0% = 5.0% 12 – 4% + 0.5% = 4.5%
  16. If at the end of all the debates/discussions or whatever you want to call it, should the SPL representatives allow Rangers to participate in the SPL and do not ensure a fairer distribution of the income available, then I never want to hear another Chairman/Chief Executive/Manager complain/moan about the lack of resources available or the inequality of the funding split because they had the opportunity to deal with it and chose not to. It is bad enough when you can't do anything about a situation but a 100 times worse when you have the opportunity to deal with it and don't!
  17. Totally agree, reckon he was one of the most skillfull footballers at Fir Park, unfortunately he didn't deliver on his ability. Also the fact a lot of fans got on his back wouldn't have helped his confidence.
  18. Hi When I key in the information to sign up it tells me I have an error on page, yet nothing is wrong/missing. Has anyone else had that problem?

    Hibernian

Higdon - now we've changed our style of play it's suiting him better. Someone is there looking for the knockdowns and flick ons which wasn't happening before.
  20. Wouldn't waste your time emailing the Club. I did that a few weeks ago regarding the tannoy/music when I read their Twitter comment saying a number of folk had commented on the volume in the East Stand but as they put it "isn't the music great". I made the point that if I had responded to customer complaints in such an off hand manner I wouldn't be in my job long! I got a response from the Facilities Manager saying they hadn't had any complaints about the volume of the East Stand tannoy and that Twitter is just meant to be a bit of fun. I suggested he or one of his team actually come over to the East Stand and listen .... but obviously they haven't!
  21. This sums it up. Opposing teams need to put two players on him because of his speed, but we fail to capitalise on the space that gives us. Our midfield are too slow in getting forward to exploit the gap.
  22. Suppose it could be done in that you pay full (normal) price say £250 for a season ticket at the outset on the understanding that (say) if 5000 are sold all those that paid the full price will get a refund of (say) £25, then any tickets sold from 5001 onwards are sold at £225 and if another threshold reached (say) 7500 then everyone gets a further refund of say £25 and any tickets sold from 7501 are at £200 etc. That way those who wait don't get a better deal than those who paid up front. The people who paid early benefit if a large number are sold and the Club is no worse off. Obviously the Club would need to work out exactly how much they needed to raise from Season Tickets and price accordingly.
  23. Only if you don't count Hearts - since they stopped paying their players .......

    Celtic

Gone for Higdon as I can't vote for Samaras, he was like a 12th player for us.
  25. Wonder if the SFA investigated the fact it was the same referee this year for the game against Hearts who sent off Ian Black who was wearing the Number 8 jersey same as Jennings? Co-incidence .... I think not!
