I wonder if things will change with efford now we have these injuries and he will get more game time,hopefully we can move lamie on,I know mcginley has had his problems but surely he's another were looking to move on which would suit both parties,the fact we changed things about to put mcginn on the left on saturday more than suggests he isn't in the managers plans.

It doesn't sound good with regard to biereth and now we're left with two fit strikers,we need to be signing two but the way the budget is that might be beyond us,it' not panic stations but definitely concerning.

Kilmarnock look like they might be a hard team to break down this season,they've made a couple of decent signings in defence,that and the fact we have problems up front,the first goal in this game will be vital,we need to be getting it.

Totally agree about the full back positions,that was actually my biggest fear coming into the new season,we have gone from two young players that were fresh with a bit of pace and were a genuine threat going forward to two in there 30s that didn't play much football last season,odonnell and souare should have been the back ups this season.hopefully were still looking at strengthening in that area but I'm sure it will rest on getting the likes of lamie and mcginley out first,as much as we have all seen games like today many times before,going out the cup as softly as that will always be frustrating.

It's always gutting to go out the cup with barely a whimper,we were woeful today.

Its looking like obika will be out long term according to kettlewell,i wonder if we will look to bring in a replacement or go with what we have.

I think miller has had opportunities to leave before but felt he was at the best place to develop and play a number of games before he eventually does leave.hopefully being in the first team and a sizeable jump in wages would be enough to get him signed to a longer contract,the boy is quality so we could be in for a big windfall in the not to distant future.

He made similar comments about danzaki and the next thing he was gone so you would have to think that efford is one of the guys were hoping to move on with maguire and possibly mcginley the others.

You never know quite what to expect from the opening day so to get a point away from home in poor conditions is a good result for us.

Wilkinson and bair are a fair size,I hope plan a isn't hoof it forward at every chance.slattery is looking lean and played well so far,miller is quality on the ball and spittal can play a pass as well,we have midfielders that are good on the ball,our next forward signing has to have a bit of pace and movement about them and give our midfield the option of a through ball.

I hope we can get something out of bair but his time at st Johnstone and there fans opinion of him doesn't sound great,our forward options really are concerning.

I agree,we definitely need a bit of pace and movement up front,it's early days but Wilkinson and obika don't look like they will be a good foil for each other.

Like the previous games,a wins a win and it's minutes under the belt,we definitely need a couple of different options up front though but kettlewell has said as much so hopefully that happens sooner rather than later.

I was thinking the same thing,slattery looks a lot leaner as well,making that run forward for his goal last night,we wouldn't have seen him doing that last season,it actually looks like the players have been put through there paces unlike last summer under alexander.

I didn't want him when he signed but he's won me over,he's definitely one of our most important players.

It was far from convincing but it's another game under the belt and a win but that should be the last we see of those two chancers in defence,we can't go into this season we them even as back up,get atleast one out and someone else in.

It should come as no surprise that we have been a shambles at the back,mistakes and now a red card,mugabi and lamie can't be trusted,I doubt we will get rid of both but getting one out the door and another defender signed had to happen.

If moult stays fit enough he could easily be the difference in dundee utd getting promotion,I would wish him all the best but I can't stand them plus that tadger watt is still there.

There thick as fuck at the best of times and it really does show there mind set if there getting upset about another teams strip,both old firm teams hate us with a passion and I wouldn't have it any other way,it just shows how little old motherwell have got under the skin over the years 😃

I was hoping we would have got furlong back but considering we're likely to have a few young boys in and around the first team this season having an experienced internationalist in the squad won't be a bad thing.
