  1. There was a spell where watt was brilliant for us,if he's up for it and motivated we might just see that again,I've been critical of kettlewell but if anyone can get a tune out of watt then it's him.
  2. Nobody is saying it's easy to get players to sign for us but settling for the likes of callaghan and halliday should not be happening, were never going to improve with the likes of them on the books and the prospect of having callaghan here again next season is shocking whatever way you try and dress it up
  3. Its having all 3 here at once that's weakening our midfield, throw in the likes of davor and our options in there are dire.we have surrounded our best asset in miller with guys that can't run or tackle, even this early it's plain too see our midfield is a massive problem that is going to get outfought and outrun most weeks.
  4. The lack of cutting edge is worrying even at this early stage.we don't have an attacking midfielder and the manager seems to be safety first when it comes to the wing back area so there's going to be very little coming from out wide.whats also strange is when you look at the goals that stama scored last season,a fair few were from crosses,he isn't the biggest but he seemed to have a decent instinct to where the ball was going to land but yet we sign him and play a style where we offer next to nothing out wide.
  5. Agreed, injuries aside they players should never have been signed in the first place due to the fact there not very good, having guys like halliday and odonnell playing every week just means we're painfully slow with no movement in two key areas of the team.
  6. Aye there has to be more to it now than just down to bad luck.playing a guy in stama who isn't match in a game like this was asking for trouble and then he goes off injured.its early days but kettlewell had the chance to clear the decks over the summer but yet here we are with squad with zero pace or creativity and all these injuries already.
  7. I'm always wary when we seem to get a lot of our business done early,it doesn't suggest we have beaten off other teams for signings but rather ending up with a lot of dross that nobody else wants, someone like callaghan is a prime example, his injury record aside he's just not very good, players like him are ten a penny for the level we play at.keeping the likes of odonnell and halliday set the tone,we badly needed a bit of pace and mobility but yet we have these two operating in key positions and offer nothing.its astonishing that we have spent a more than decent amount on the guy from oz but yet we look like a side that will struggle to create due to the limitations at wing back and no creative attacking midfielder.
  8. We're getting our fingers burnt too often now taking chances on players with sketchy injury records,I get there going to be easy enough to sign and fit well within our budget but we're now going to have to shell out again to find replacements.i get players can get injured at anytime but we really have to stay away from bringing guys in that struggle with injuries.we badly need a couple of signings that can come straight into the team and make a difference.
  9. Callaghan should never have been signed in the first place,he's a run of the mill spl player with a history of injury problems and yet here we are already where he's injured.
  10. Like last season the balance in midfield looks way off and we're going to be just as easy to play through, there's no pace and legs to get about the park,I doubt there will be many yet to arrive but we badly need a midfielder or 2,one that can link play to the forwards is a must,we cant have 4 strikers on the books and nobody that can play a productive pass.miller is class but we can't solely rely on him, kettlewell also need to stop asking guys to do things they cant do like halliday in an advance role,he's never been that type of player never mind the stage of his career he's at now.
  11. Dire stuff from us today, between that and the rest of the group games,it looks like the issues from last season haven't been resolved, what's really baffling is we've just spent a decent amount for us on a forward but we create very little due to the way the manager sets us up,that means we will have 4 forwards but a manager that doesn't seem to have the belief in playing 2 together for more than a half a game.
  12. It seems like we haven't been able to catch a break on the injury front for ages,we badly need some midfield reinforcements and quick.
  13. Get it right up ya McMahon, get to fuck and take all your cronies that tried to sell the club down the river with you.
  14. Barmack got absolutely schooled over on p&b then did a runner when he couldn't answer any of the questions put to him,he definitely isn't what we're needing or looking for.the society has came up with a straightforward plan and that's exactly what a club like ours needs and not some pie in the sky bullshit from a fantasist.the sooner this is all by with the better and we don't need to hear the names barmack and mcmahon the better we will all be.
  15. What a shower of patronising bastards, that mcmahon is getting right on my tits now,he's out to do maximum damage before he eventually fucks off.when the time comes him and the rest of them should never be allowed to step foot in fir park ever again.
  16. Barmack made a compete cunt of himself last week over on p&b,no serious individual should be arsing about on a fans forum, the thought of this clown having any control over our club is grim.
  17. This has turned into a total farce, barmack sounds like a complete fantasist, the sooner he's out the picture and guys like mcmahon are told to never darken our door again the better.
  18. The barmack bowl has a ring to it.
  19. To have got to this point and that's the offer on the table is a disgrace and to those that were happy to sell the club down the river for a pittance should be run out of town.
  20. There isn't really a thing as a squad player with the likes of us,most players will play a fair amount throughout the season, sadly as we seen last season some of them aren't upto the job but yet we seem happy enough to retain them,it's going to get worse if mugabi stays on.we will then have mugabi, mcginn, casey and blaney and the option of playing odonnell again at centre half, that's pretty grim and you would think doesn't leave much scope for other centre halves to arrive,I just hope the plan isn't relying on new wing backs and a keeper to be the answer to all our problems.
  21. And we're potentially missing out on other targets while we wait on odonnell and mugabi making up there minds,if we do our usual we will still be waiting after the season has started.
  22. We needed a clear out to give us the best chance of improving, the more defenders we keep the more likely it will be the same old story next season.
  23. Wiping the slate clean would have allowed us to bring in new players and not just stick with guys that have failed the past season, put defending was pathetic on a weekly basis.it seems like we might be banking on a new keeper being the solution but I dont buy it,kelly was poor last season but is definitely better than what ye showed, where guys like mugqbi have been rotten from the minute they came through the door.hopefully kettlewell has learned and will set us up where were actually interested in defending the wide areas,if it's same again and expecting having a more commanding goalie will make the difference then he's kidding himself on.
  24. The defence was a problem the whole season not just part of it,cheap goals and individual mistakes cost us a shot at the top 6 and put us out the cups.this was the perfect time to wipe the slate clean and try and improve the main problem in our team but yet here we are facing the possibility of the same old shite next season.i hope odonnell and mugabi don't accept our offers but I hardly think clubs will be queuing up to sign them.
  25. Other than gent not one defender from last season would be missed but yet we have retained mcginn and offered terms to odonnell and mugabi and with casey and blaney still under contract,it's almost certain that our defensive options for next season will be vastly made up of guys that kept 3 clean sheets all season, considering kettlewell has been moaning about our defending, especially of late, keeping most of them around for next season is madness.
