  1. It will be on the Home and Away kits as we want them to be consistent and we will be working from existing stock plus some "top ups" but not on the Third as it's a completely new kit.
  2. I hope to be able to confirm tomorrow.
  3. Some great speculation on the new shirt. Hopefully we will be able to reveal all soon when the final samples arrive and we can get the photoshoot done. Just thought I'd add some answers to a few of the questions in this thread. Kit for next season: There will definitely be a new 3rd kit for next season. The Home and Away will stay the same for the first time in a few seasons. Band on our shirt: UEFA rules dictate that we can't have a band on our shirts in Europe, We just got away with it in 2009 as it was an early qualifying round. This is to allow the name and number to be read clearly. The area with name and number must be made of one solid colour. This is why Celtic and other clubs have to put a patch over their hoops. I have seen some examples wherby the clubs haven't done this (Barca for example). I think they have to demonstrate that the numbers are sufficiently legible. We however, will be going by the UEFA rulebook on this one. If you want some seriously tedious bedtime reading then Google the kit regulations and you can get rid of the sleeping pills. I have read them over and over again and I'm still confused!!!! Champions League sleeve badges: We are waiting on final approval on this one. The first advice we got from the Official Supplier was that they could not supply us until we reached the group stages. This meant that we couldn't wear the sleeve badges or the "respect" logo. I made further enquiries and it appears that this is the case in the Europa league but not in the Champions League so the latest info I have is that we can wear them. I am just waiting on official clarification so we can place our order. Please note: The "Respect" logo is changing from last season so even if you find a shop that stocks them just now, it won't be the same as the ones that go on this years players shirts. As soon as I get Official clearance I will let you know both the pricing and delivery dates on here. I hope some of this is helpful and that I haven't confused matters further. If you have any questions on this or anything else, pop into the shop and I will ̶b̶̶e̶ ̶h̶̶i̶̶d̶̶i̶̶n̶̶g̶ ̶i̶̶n̶ ̶t̶̶h̶̶e̶ ̶s̶̶t̶̶o̶̶r̶̶e̶̶r̶̶o̶̶o̶̶m̶ try to answer as best I can. New Strip

Announcement on Kit launch date coming very very soon.

    New Strip

I can see where you are coming from on this but I think a little additional information may help. Any delay in launching a kit will have a financial impact. This has to be weighed up against securing a solid sponsorship deal for the club which has much greater implications. Leeann Dempster and her team have worked hard to secure a great deal with Cash Converters. This deal was signed up and announed in late May and the shirts were put into production then but this is a slow process. If we were able to bring them out any earlier we would have as we are more than aware of the commercial implications. When looking at the financial effect of such situations, the big picture has to be taken into account and I believe that the club have done the right thing here for the overall financial well being of the club. Cheers Alan

Hi Guys, Sorry we haven't been able to give anything concrete regarding the launch. We had been dotting some i's and crossing some t's over the last few weeks. Everything is falling into place now with delivery times etc. We have had all the first team kit delivered so there is no panic as regards Craggs having to play bare chested Saturday The retail kit is due to arrive very soon and I will be able to announce a launch date when I get the final delivery schedule which should happen tomorrow. We haven't been deliberately keeping you in the dark but we have been unable to say anything definite. Rest assured we have been working very hard with Puma to ensure as early a launch date as possible. Information regarding the launch will be on the official site first and of course we will post here soon after that. Thanks for your patience Alan Provan The Well Shop

The Cup Final trainingwear for the players and fans was taken from "off the shelf" puma stock and was badged here in the UK. Anything done specifically for Motherwell uses the applique patch which is applied at the time of manufacture. I hope this is making sense as it sounds more confusing the more I type !!!

    New Strip

Hi Willie, If you check out Umbro kits it depends on the badge whether they use applique patch or direct emroidery. Rangers badge is fairly simple so they use direct embroidery. The England badge is more detailed so they use an applique patch the same as ours. Nike also use an applique patch for the celtic badge. Horses for courses really. It is called "applique" as the badge is woven seperately and then "applied" to the jersey using an embroidery machine to stitch the edges. When are you coming down for your top? Cheers Alan

Just FYI , This is the same badge that is on this seasons and last seasons home kit, away kit and trainingwear. Its not ironed on, it is a woven applique patch which is stiched to the garment around the edges. I Puma use this style on most of their kits as they believe that it gives better defintion to the badge, particularly on the smaller elements of the design. When it is a design which is just text (like the 125 shirt) they use direct embroidery as the definition is just as good. There is little to no cost difference in either style. All the first team kit has this method and there is no difference at all between what the first team wear and what you buy. The only reason the Hampden training top used a different method was that they had no applique patches in stock at the time of the cup final. This is the same process that XARA used. Canterbury preferred the direct embroidery style. Its really just down to the preferred process of the manufacturer. Hope this helps Alan
  22. Hi Guys, A few customers had asked if we could get our hands on these as they couldn't get them at Hampden or did not want them wrecked in the rain. I spoke with their printers and we have been able to get some in. They are priced at £5 and are on a first come first served basis. I will also try to get them on the online shop later today. Failing that we will have them up on Monday. Cheers Alan
  23. This is the difference between shopping & procurement. Alan, the amount of hard work being done by you & everyone at the club is not in question, neither was I questioning the lines you were able to stock in the shop. I just find it strange that for example we do not have a framework arrangement in place with Puma that allows us to call off orders for the "bespoke" jerseys we have, instead we seem to rely on one off ordering from them with no SLA built in to ensure priority delivery. I can absolutely assure you that no such framework exists from Puma or any other kit manufacturer that operates at this level. If it was available it would make my job a whole lot easier. They just will not manufacture stock and sit on it until we need it. If we place an order, we have to pay for it (within 30 days at that). As we were coming to the end of the season our stock levels were exactly where they should be as we use all the forecasting information we have to ensure this is the case. If the sponsor changes (as it just has) and we are sitting on extensive stocks they become almost worthless overnight. The only way I could have had more jerseys would have been to order prior to the semi final and thats too expensive a gamble to take. Imagine if we had placed a huge order and then lost the semi final. Its my neck on the line if I take risks like that. Anyway, its not so much the fact that you question our abilities that concerned me. I'm big enough and long enough in the tooth to accept criticism. I'm also more than capable of putting my defence across. What I take huge exception to is being told that I "need my baws booted" Its very easy to use such language on forums without aforethought to the effect that it may have. I can tell you that its highly unpleasant and also just not necessary. I would thank you in future to keep your postst respectful as I will always accept valid criticism where its due. Probably best to let this thread die now..

    Street Traders

Hi Guys, Just a wee reminder that the street vendors selling scarves and flags in the town centre have no connection to Motherwell F.C. and that money spent with them not benefit Motherwell F.C. in any way. There is nothing we can do to stop them as they are not breaking copyright (although the police and trading standards are keeping a close eye). Obviously we can't tell you where to spend your money but I think its appropriate that you have this information before making your decision.
