Aye, you often hear the "Lee Bradbury In, Serigo Aguero Out" cries every week.

I wonder if Sheikh Mansour had the same critics at Man City.....
-
And that's why you'll never be a football manager Disco, not even gaffer of a 5-a-side team my good man.

He didn't last long in Cyprus.... probably replaced by a Cypriot Decorator.

Don't be daft - just pluck any ex-player and that's your winner. Hope they don't go down the "Cheap Route" with the next appointment, so I'll fling these guys into the mix, Jose Mourinho (seen it, done it now with Chelsea, probably looking for a fresh challenge. Alex Ferguson, must be gaggin' to get back into management or perhaps lets jump the gun and appoint Lionel Messi player-manager, not sure if he'll handle Ross County away on a Wednesday night in December though. For the record am against the Klopp appointment, he has only taken 15 points out of his last 30 points and only undefeated in last 3 homes games and hasn't won any of last 3 away. That's "imposter" form!!

I believe he mentioned in an interview that he worked with Scott McDonald at Millwall prior to taking up a scouting role. Not sure if any connection with Pearson though. On a side note to Disco's comment about replacing McDonald, It's my understanding that he had two options, Motherwell or going to the A-League. He didn't feel it was time to head back to Oz so he might hang around if things go well. Again, if we stay up, I'm looking forward to seeing who he can bring into the club as Free Agents, I'm expecting good things ahead.

Aye, good luck with that pickle of a problem. Not even "the biggest club in the world" could prevent Paul Pogba from leaving them. And by accounts, their youth setup is second to none.

Footage from the team bus leaving Dingwall....shockin' !!! PS.. sorry in advance Mr Spiderpig, just had another sniff of the auld Brasso.

I'm aware of a starter from the Dundee United 3-1 game, looking a tad worse for wear in a picture from that very Saturday night (24th Jan 2015). It's on a Motherwell fan's social media site. Some on here, will also know the picture that I'm referring to as they have actually commented on it. Here's a selection of the comments on the picture; "He looks out his nut" "I think he'd had a few" "Looks heavy swedged" "Looks out his banger" "That kid def looks out his nut"

VDG has never completed 2 seasons at any of his 3 clubs (MarĂtimo B, Maritimo & Belenenses) due to variety of reasons (job promotion, sacked and finally forced to quit due to ill health). He led Maritimo to 5th and won promotion to Primeira Liga with Belenenses which are both positives in my book. Both Maritimo & Belenenses are minnows if comparing against the likes of Porto, Sporting & Benfica. I suppose in the same way as we could be classed as minnows if compared to Celtic and Rangers(RIP). It's my understanding that both clubs' incomes will be higher than Motherwell's due to higher TV deals. Both clubs however do have smaller crowds than us. Two things to note about Portuguese football though;. They allow 3rd Party Ownership, so not sure if he had access to a far higher quality of player than that of what Motherwell could get their hands on. They also have slacker immigrations rules than the UK so easier to bring in players from outside EU. A large percentage of players in Portugal are from South America for example. From a very reliable source, his plans for Youth Development & Sports Science were very impressive but I understand "the right manager at the wrong time" thing as not convinced he could have fixed the short-term problems. I also think he would have encountered culture & methodology issues with the current crop of players and fans for that. Some of our fans find Baraclough's introduction of yoga at the club funny, yet it's being used by the tops clubs in football to keep players fit and flexible.

Rab Maaskant, who has won a national championship (Poland) as a manager, never had anywhere near the support that VDG had, why was that? Personally, I think it comes down to "memories" of their playing days. The same has occurred in the past when Luc Nijholt's name came up a few times for the gaffer. If a fans' favourite is appointed, then he'll always get extra time to sort things out. That's only natural. Don't get me wrong Saturday was utter dire but personally I don't think it was any worse than say when St Johnstone beat us 1-0 in August or when Accies pumped us 4-0 in September for example. Even the night we beat Dundee Utd under Kenny Black in November, we could have been easily scudded 4 or 5-1.

No I wouldn't say I'm happy to date because the overall performances & results are still as shite as they have been for all of the 2014/2015 season. I also expected to have between 24-26 points by now if being honest. Do I feel he's the man to lead us away from the relegation zone? I don't expect the board to sack him so don't see what the benefits would be in not supporting him & the players. As a result, he will get my full support whilst he's Motherwell's manager. The annoying aspect for me is that if we had appointed VDG and had the exact same results/performances, he would have been afforded more time because of happy memories of his playing career at Fir Park. I get this but Barraclough and even Rab Maaskant (who personally I think was the most qualified for the post) were never going to have this luxury. As for the final quote; Cry me a river fella!!!

Someone on here should be the next manager, since everyone knows how to manage the team better. If not, I'd go for an experienced manager, who knows the Scottish game inside out, perhaps someone like Terry Butcher. If only Hibs had done that last year.......

All in favour of copying the English system but have my doubts whether we would be allowed it in the East Stand. Down south (from my own experiences), you can't take your drink to your seat but can stand in concourse drinking(in theory you could do for the entire game but with no view of the game). We could clearly get that working in South Stand, Cooper & Main Stand but with the East, you would have to stand up the back and drink it. You'll end up with folk trying to drink throughout the game by standing up the back. This in-turn will no doubt lead to issues with stewarding/policing.

Anyone ever seen Leanne & Decorator in the same room? Just saying like............................

Why do people believe that Van Der Gaag would be so much better? Bearing in mind he would a) lose the ability to sign unknown South Americans like he could in Portugal due to UK immigration law. B) We can't confirm if he used 3rd Party Ownership players in Portugal, which again he couldn't use here. Both Baraclough & Van Der Gaag are gambles that can go either way/could have gone either way. Let's get behind the new fella and back him to turn us around!! Hopefully he can bring in his own coaching staff in coming months.

I also hear from a good source that Black is getting replaced as his No 2 by a former manager. Seemingly Bara is good friends with him and wants him involved, since he knows the club, could be quite popular with some of the crowd.......
