  1. As many have said, I thought we were magnificent yesterday, and that was without playing particularly well, but the effort and determination to win were second to none, and I mean NONE ! The sheep never looked like getting anything from the game, and Robbo had them sussed to a tee. The usual suspects performed as we've come to expect, Carson, Aldred, Kipre, Tait etc, but I thought Grimshaw was immense - along with Campbell & Rose, they made sure the Sheep were not going to have an easy time of it ! This could be misplaced, but for the first time in many years, I actually believe our names on the cup this year MON RA DOSSERS
  2. Probably as expected, not many outside Motherwell seem to think we'll win ! BRING IT ON - 7000/8000, doesn't matter a jot now, let's make a noise and get right behind the team SIWY MON RA DOSSERS
  3. Leaving around 8.30 so will be there sharpish See you there MON RA DOSSERS
  4. If it's of any help D, I'm buzzin' Bring it on & MON RA DOSSERS
  5. I was going to make the same point - if the game had been in Edinburgh and the tickets had been bought beforehand, I've no doubt we would have take a large support, though not near 5000 before I get picked up on that. I dare say everyone has there own reasons for giving it a miss. Falkirk has been hit way harder than Motherwell with the snow as it turns out, and I only finally decided to go after 1pm, but I will say that the decision to go was a good un' MON RA DOSSERS
  6. Not saying we WILL win, I I hope beyond hope that we do, but I'm absolutely buzzin already leaving in 10 mins for what promises to be a cracking day Jamie and me will be giving it yahoo SIWY COYW MON RA DOSSERS
  7. Absolutely, pre & post and a return to Dosserdom on the Monday to pick the car up MON RA DOSSERS
  8. Got my bus tickets along with the Final tickets earlier in the week, so anyone who's booked the buses should also get theirs D - did you get seats on any bus ? MON RA DOSSERS
  9. As many posted pre-match, I've lived a lifetime of near 50 years of seeing us 'cheated out of results against the h*ns, be it referees, pitch invasions when they are being gubbed, and the like, so today may have been our turn with Ryan B getting away with the second' high arm, and know what, I couldn't give a flying **** if they're upset. They need to look at their own cheating ways on the park, getting away with kicks at players etc etc etc.which they still do ! And I do wonder if I'll see another keeper sent off for picking the ball up just outside the 18 yd box - the Buns keeper was never going to suffer that fate, was he ! Bring on the 26th Nov MON RA DOSSERS
  10. Spot on - Hibs lost a early goal today, and you could tell they were facing an uphill challenge from that point. I reckon that The Buns will come out the trap fast, but if we don't lose an early goal and the game settles down, I know we can take them. Whatever happens, go out and make us proud to be part of the C&A family MON RA DOSSERS
  11. From the famous Fir Park terracing To the football park so green There's eleven Steelmen warriors They're the best you've ever seen Oh we may not be the champions Or even runners up But we'll f*ck the h**s on Sunday And make League Cup history More or less an old one from the 70's for the nippers, youtube the tune for Halls of Montezuma MON RA DOSSERS
  12. Hi D, yep, I wasn't sure I could make Saturday until lunchtime, and headed over for the gates opening at 2pm to make sure I got in (wasn't sure how many tickets if any, were available). And as mentioned, at that time, other than me, there didn't seem to be many using the 2 PATG styles while there was a fair q at the ticket gate ??? My ticket was seat allocated, and that's the one I sat in - was discussing the seating with a couple of guys next to me, and we were convinced they would enforce the seat allocation as there has been previous over there, but obviously not - the issue is not going to change, and next visit will be exactly the same no doubt - all I'd suggest is getting there a bit earlier and sitting in your seat, unless the club reading this take action beforehand. For what it's worth, I don't have a problem with a ticket that gives entry without allocating a seat, but they need deal with it one way or another MON RA DOSSERS
  13. I'm usually quick to defend Dunne, but the big fella was way out of sorts yesterday - SR obviously has a lot of faith in him as I was sure Stevie H was warming before half time with a view to being a half time sub All that aside, I'll enjoy this good time while it lasts, so a few seasons worth please MON RA DOSSERS
  14. What a difference a few months make - I can actually say that I look forward to a Saturday so far this season, and as as much a die hard as I'd count myself, that hasn't always been the case in recent times - I'm sure many feel the same ! I noted the comment earlier that the team seem to be reaping the benefit of what they appear to be told during the week - for this, a massive amount of credit has to go to SR (and LAS and the rest of the back team staff), but also massive credit to every one in the squad for so far doing their bit - I was wondering if it was solely down to SR getting the chance to put his stamp on the running of the team, but there's no doubt the quality that he has brought in, tied in with their willingness to work hard, is way ahead of where we have been recently. The competition for places is well documented, and we continue to grow as a team - yes we have played better than yesterday, but no way would we have been as focused on the end result as we were, and you can almost feel the desire from TC and the guys in front of him, not only to win, but not lose a goal - as poor as Thistle were, we may have struggled before. We won't win or draw every game, but when the wee slump comes, let's hope we stay behind the team, for as long as they work hard as they have been doing, there will be many more good days than bad this season. Oh, and Louie, get the contract signed, you know it makes sense, this team may actually do something, and you will get your move (at the right time). MON RA DOSSERS
  15. Genuinely can't make Saturday, but that looks a cracking offer ! MON RA DOSSERS
  16. D, you know as well as I do that had it happened at the other end, there's no amount of screaming and shouting that we would have done, that would have seen it awarded ! FFS, I get more cynical as I get older !! MON RA DOSSERS
  17. Agree with many of the posts that we were probably on top for most of the game in terms of possession, but it was easy possession to deal with - too many times we pump a long ball up to a guy with little hope of winning it, and even when we did get forward into the last 3rd, we didn't look dangerous. and that's not a pop at Moult or Bowman particularly, as the service they get most of the time is poor to say the least. What can you say about Samson - I've got to the stage I actually feel for the guy - very suspect at the 1st goal, but then a cracking double save to stop a 4th goal. Genuinely feel there's a reasonable keeper there, but certainly not at the level we want to play at. What worries me most, is we're very much in a battle, but where I think we'll lose out heavily, is against the battling qualities of the other teams - what can I say, hopefully they'll prove me wrong ! MON RA DOSSERS
  18. Wouldn't disagree with this - Skippy does appear to be la different player when Moult's missing. And as much as Bowman has added a wee bit to his play, he doesn't look like he's going to score a lot of goals. I like Frear but in the Accies game, there were a number of occasions when he had the ball in good positions, but there was no-one to hit in the middle - sadly been a long term problem. However, I'll be delighted if any of the guys have me eating my words come 4.45pm Saturday MON RA DOSSERS
  19. Me, for turning the radio off and going to bed MON RA DOSSERS
  20. On a holiday in Lochinver and not long back from the game - on the whole, I thought we played really well, with Moult and Skippy unplayable at times. Goal apart, Samson had a cracking game, so credit there where it;s due, and also a word for the defending, with guys prepared to get themselves in the way of decent strikes on goal when it was needed. All in all, for me it was a good team performance. MON RA DOSSERS
  21. I was looking forward to the game on Friday, but taking on board the likely weather headed our way, it could well be farcical. Or could it level up the teams ? MON RA DOSSERS
  22. Like many, I just don't get the amount of long balls we punt at our forwards - we've shown time and again that when we play the ball on the deck moving forward, we look reasonably good, but it also highlights issues. We have good midfield players, but we sadly lack one or two creative midfield players, the types who can play a killer ball, or play themselves into areas where they ask questions of the opposition. Even getting to an area where a pot shot is taken would be a bonus. Way too many games like Wednesday,, an opposing keeper has finished the game doing the sum total of hee haw. Chris Cadden had a attempt at goal from distance, and although a poor effort, it found it's way to Moult which at least gave a hint of a chance Our forward players are so deep at times that we even get situations where we have got good ball, but there is no-one centre who's going to battle for what comes in. And what happened to the theory that you defend as far up the park as possible, at least that was often drummed in to teams I played for - teams attack us, and we consistently back off until they're near enough on the 18 yd line - Wednesday night's 2nd goal came from the big no.5 getting the ball and steaming forward until he played the ball wide well in to our half, corner, goal ! And don't get me started on this idea of everyone behind the ball for corners set pieces in our half !!! I don't have all the answers, but for a start, being more positive minded in our approach would surely reap some benefits - Accies match for example, we start on the front foot and go for it. A result or two will change the complexion of how we view the performances, but the next two games need to provide points - here's hoping MON RA DOSSERS
  23. 1st visit to the Mhankies in about 20 years, and it could be the same again if last night is going to be the norm - I don't like seeing my team being gubbed, but I sure as hell would accept it a lot better if we made a game of it. The lad and me were talking after the game, and we couldn't think of any instance where one of our players got angry enough to go through someone - having said that, the said tackle may have been attempted but we were so far away from them, the ball and player would have been somewhere else on the park before our lad reached the intended tackle - I don't want to see us clattering in to stupid tackles, but for once it would been good to see us in their faces, the way they were whenever we got on the ball Yes, Mcdonald looked really frustrated, but he fed off scraps and high punts for a large part of the night, who can blame him - for me, he badly needs Moult back to help him out. Saturday awaits, and we may or may not win, but either way, we better see a massively improved performance, and tactical setup MON RA DOSSERS
  24. I first clocked that the game was on Wednesday when I checked the TV schedules on Friday - I kept checking the website but nothing was mentioned about tickets until Sunday/Monday I appreciate that this was maybe down to Smellic, but living in Falkirk, and working in Edinburgh, getting a ticket won't be easy - if the ticket office had been open tonight, I may have got through, but 6.30 tomorrow and then scrambling through for a parking place isn't going to appeal to many living outwith Motherwell MON RA DOSSERS
