A lot of decent performances last night, and it was good to have a good look at McHugh, Lawless and a couple of other lads for the full game. The experienced guys did well and I also thought Forbes was enjoying his role in central midfield - there was one occassion in the 1st half when he had the ball in the left back back area, and he sent a sublime pass to Lawless who was making an attacking wide right run. Forbes definitely has talent, and he does seem to have upped his strength and fitness - reckon it's time he pushed hard for a regular starting spot. MON RA DOSSERS

First off, let me say that I couldn't make the game on Sunday, but I did get to see the 1st 40 mins in the pub. In that time, I thought we looked not too bad and knocked the ball about well, but the Buns, inexperienced or not, kept a tight defence, and like too many times over the years (with a whole range of different managers it has to be said) we toiled badly to create much. What did concern me was how exposed we appeared to leave ourselves in the middle and back, and goals like the 2nd & 3rd were always likely to happen - before they scored the 1st goal, Darren got us out of jail with the save from that t*t Lafferty. Haven't seen the 2nd half, and missed the first 30 mins as I was on a ferry home, but on turning on the radio, it came as no surprise to find us two down, and I had the misfortune of hearing the 3rd with the commentators generally creaming themselves. Like many, although I almost expect us to lose when playing either of the Bigot Twins, it still gets me thoroughly pissed off when we get swept aside so easily. I don't claim to have all the answers, but as nice as some of the football has been, we need to be more clinical, and to some degree, the Invernesss game was a game in point. We scored two well made goals, and a 3rd when Las was prepared to have a go, At the Midden, we had loads of chances, but when you have 6 or 7 seven good efforts before Hately's cracking free kick, I would expect at least one that the keeper couldn't get to, even if it came off the post\bar. Maybe it'll even itself out at some stage, but we need to get forward thinking players in the box and ask questions about defences, and if that isn't going to happen, be prepared to have a crack from 25 or 30 yards. Continually looking for the perfect pass in the final 3rd just encourages a team to sit tight, and as the Buns did, pick us off with and incisive break. Right now to be positive - next two games are winnable, before proving that we can get it right and hit the Unwashed with a 2nd home defeat. MON RA DOSSERS

Strange game in a lot of ways - well chuffed with the result, but not the best of performances from us. The Midden looked comfortable on the ball, but IMO they looked poor up front - caused us a bit of hassle with cross balls in the 1st half (anything could have been happening the 2nd, but murder to judge whether close shaves or not from our seats) but I can't remember Darren Randolph having to make any match winning saves. For all that it wasn't the best we've played, their keeper had a superb game and kept Midden in the game. Get back to the football on the deck and push men forward, and we'll take the Buns - maybe a wee spell on the bench for Chris as he was anonymous today (thought he looked fairly tired) Plaudits for Law and Forbes - felt they chased and harried all day. As a guy who has flipped in to his 50s, I'd say that I still love having a chant at the game, but although there a good few around the middle of the East who go for it, it generally fizzles out. When a good proprtion of the East get going, and I should point out that the Cooper more than pitched in last year, it can sound impresssive - as pointed out though, maybe it would make a difference if you guys up the end moved down a bit. I expect you originally went as far up as you could to get as close as you could to the away fans, as this can get the singing going when both sets of fans are close together - this is what we did in the 70s & 80s with both sets of fans yards apart, but those days have unfortunately gone, so until the powers that be bring back terracings, it's up to ourselves to get our fans up for it. Time'll tell MON RA DOSSERS

I got my top a couple of weeks ago and I'm well impressed - getting it's 1st outing today. Can't wait to see the team in the full strip as descibed by SCDave, with the wee numbers et al - throwback to the 60's right enough MON RA DOSSERS

Can only echo everything that's been posted previously - standing in B4 I couldn't really see the effect, but via photos after the game & the highlights last night, I've nothing but admiration for you guys who took an idea, and had the devotion to see it through. Plaudits as well to everyone who contributed, be it in contributing time and\or money The quality of card used, as well as the print on the coloured side have provided a cracking momento - pity the result and performance couldn't have been better, but we still got to the final. Our time will come MON RA DOSSERS

You may be right, it could be a tall ask, but I know we can do it, and the players will as well. As fans, regardless of whether we're drawing, behind or hopefully winning, lets have a repeat of the encouragement we gave the lads against the Buns in 2005 - God knows what it would have been like if we'd won that day - we'll find out tomorrow Give it your best guys, that's all we can ask for. Went for Fergie's, but only just - that 1st goal just seemed sublime at the time, and like Cakes said, it gave a belief to me that we could go and win the cup. Uncle Phil's goal - BRAVE AS A LION said it all Ian Angus' - superb lay off and strike and I honestly thought that the cup was ours Stevie Kirk's winner - pretty sure I went mental, but an overriding memory is that, by this stage, I was gone, emotionally drained. More of the same tomorrow guys, with the same result :yahoo: MON RA DOSSERS

After '91, I was always thinking how lucky my Dad was to have seen the Dossers win their two Scottish cups. He was a staunch Well fan and he got laid to rest with his colours 8 years ago. As well as watching over his family, I'm sure he'll be at every game the Well play, and Saturday will be no different, just wish he could have been standing next to me and Jamie, getting as wound up as he always did. To each and every one of our Well friends and family who have passed on .................... look forward to knowing you'll be there with us tomorrow MON RA DOSSERS -
Took my chances and waited till today and went over to the ticket office about 11am - only a few folk in front of me in the q, and probably the same waiting as I left, so I imagine there's been a steady stream throughout the day. After yesterday, I really doubted I would get tickets for the West terracing, but not a problem with the seats being half way up B4 - according to the seating plan in the office, we have as far as B5 as the 'singing section, but it showed B6, 7 & 8 with question marks, which I presume the club will sell once B5 sells out as the seating plan definitely shows that as our allocation. Why Are Motherwell Fans So Bothered What Celtic Fans Think?
Fal_Dosser replied to MJC_MKI's topic in Club Chat
Agree with both these posts - I couldn't give a monkeys what either of the Bigot Bros thought about us, cause no matter if one of them beats us one nil, 3 or 6 nil, we'll still be accused by many of them of lying down to favour their bigot twin. Can't explain why over the years, but I've always thought that our record against the Buns is poor, whereas aginst the Smellys, I generally believe we can get something from the game - and as Weeyin points out, that's the only frustration that gets to me, why the Buns, even when they're poor, seemed to grind out results against us. Way too concerned about my own wee club, to give the Bigots a second thought MON RA DOSSERS -

Well Done the Wee Ger - good that you recognise we do so every year For what it's worth, it fair pisses me off that the Squirm overachieve every year as well by winning the league MON RA DOSSERS

Does it hinge on the number of Champions League places Scotland have ? - if 1st & 2nd go into the CL, then I would have thought we are in the Europa Cup. I've a feeling the coefficient dropped though, and only the Scottish league winners qualify for the CL, which screws up the above, so Smellic need to win the league, or we need to get up the table pronto. My understanding of it anyway, which could well be utter tosh MON RA DOSSERS

Pretty much agree and reckon at I'm at the stage of forgetting about Brown & Knox - they did a decent job when they were here, but they created their own pile of sh!te in how they treated us, and I'm not convinced they'll succeed in making the Sheep a force, but the Sheep are of no great concern to me. McCall is winning me over with the way he's getting the players working for each other - we've had some crap games (Midden, Inverness) and strange decisions (IMO - no subs in the Utd match when we were hanging on for the result) but I can't argue with the success he's achieved in his short spell, so my focus is pretty much on him and my team from here on in. Smellic it is, and I can think of no better way of winning the cup, if that's our fate - as pointed out by others, no-one gave us a hope when we met them in the semi in 1991, and even less in the replay. We did it then, no reason we can't do it again. There will be more of the them fan wise for the final, but as their Bigot twins have found out at Hampden, we'll give our guys everything in support, win or lose MON RA DOSSERS

Jeeeesus GazzyB - I'm a bag o jaggies just now waiting for the game which can't come quick enough - I know where you're coming from, but there's no way I'd last through the day without knowing the result. Hope it works for you though, and you can have a cracking Saturday night MON RA DOSSERS

This may have been noted already, but I'm just in from a supporters club meeting in Edinburgh, and was more than a little surprised to be told the official site is indicating the buses on Saturday will be leaving at 11am prompt ! Checked my bus ticket, and it states 11.15 prompt, but would be grateful if the club would clarify, as I can't believe I'm the only one who'd could have been caught out big time if they have changed it to 11am. There may be a reason for the change, indeed it may be a typo by Flow or whoever, but if it's different from the ticket time, they'd best get the news out, and fast. MON RA DOSSERS

Booked a couple of seats on the club's buses at the tail end of last week and got the tickets in today - bus 16. MON RA DOSSERS
