Really happy with the victory today. Very well deserved and only one team that looked liked playing football. Without Swanson and Conway Utd are half the side of last year and I am the opposite as I think that we will beat them confortably on Tuesday night 2-0. Well done lads. P.s. I agree about the ref, what an absolute clown. Very inconsistent in his decision making and easily bullied by Utd players. Another in the conveyor belt of useless inept Scottish refs.

Craig Brown Enters The 'atmosphere At Fir Park' Debate
siebsbarmyarmy replied to Steve Diggle's topic in Club Chat
Why dont they just take the flares to away games, throw them into the home support, that way they get the blame, then the fines which is always good for us when other teams are pnished, possibly a couple of their asthmatic fans struggle and an atmosphere is created.......... sorted...... -
Bored of Europe....... the young uns have had it easy I tell ye...... bring it on. As for today, can see a Desmond(2-2) and a 1-0 win for us on Tuesday. We will be 2-0 down in the first half today and bring it back to 2-2 in the 2nd.

Too much optimism on these boards this week. 2-1 Rangers with a last minute (dodgy)penalty given to them. Karma for ours last year. We will be the better of the sides but be unlucky. Hopefull I'm wrong as I would love to be able to give the in-laws pelters but cant see it.

Havent seen a thread started for this game yet. 3pm Saturday home game, its been a while. What does everybody think. I'm actually pretty confident of a 2-0 victory, goals from Sutton and Humphrey(I know, its bound to happen soon). Team I would go with, probably same as the weekend. ---------------Randolph---------------- Hately---- Craigan----Reynolds----Hammell ---------Jennings---- Lasley------------- Humphrey------ Murphy----------Blackman ---------------Sutton-------------------- Looks pretty strong going forward. A home victory could really get the confidence going and set us up for the season. Mon the Well.

I dont know so much I think the current Motherwell side would give the current Scotland side a right good game to be honest

Players who have been without a club since probably May/June and will need a few weeks, months to get to match fitness. A few of the players you mentioned Cloudy I would take in a heartbeat, De Merit would be a good signing. Aliadiere would be class but couldnt afford him same with Gillespie or Rosenior I guess. Overall I am pretty disappointed how today has went. We must have been trying to sign some players tho beacuse am sure the club/Brown would have come out and told us that there was no signings planned and not to get our hopes up. With Aberdeen signing Velicka(good deal if stays fit) and Killie signing Eremenko two of our rivals have strengthened well in my opinion.

I would be gutted to lose Mark as I think he is a very very good footballer. He has stalled in his progression recently but I think at lot of people will be in for a surprise at how well he will do if he moves down soputh. He has the right attributes to make it down there as pace is a big big assest in that league and Mark certainly has that. A lot of time at Motherwell is spent covering for other defenders which can drag him out of position, example in case is Sunday against Celtic. He has been nothing but professional during his time at our club and I really wish him all the best "if" he gets a move. If the figures are right that has been quoted I agree with Fatcalf that is the right amount we should be looking for. £250k is not enough, between £500k to £1m is a fair reflection on his ability and potential. Heres hoping at least half the amount we recieve is spent investing in our already small squad.

Disappointed at todays performance. We can have no arguements over the result at all but the manner in which we lose the game again leaves a horrible taste in the mouth. Scottish football to me is fast becoming a laughing stock. The referee's are ruing the game beyond belief and if to me is almost becoming pointless to turn up at a game against the Old Firm as you are guaranteed to spend your time screaming abuse at the useless biaised fuckwit it the middle. He could not wait to give the penalty, was delighted to give it and even more so to send Saunders off. Criag Brown in his after match interview was excellant he said that its a penalty becasue there is really slight contact and Maloney went down but he was quick to point out how quickly and to quote Brown "enthusiaistically" he gave the penalty. Thats at least 4 games this season we have been the victim of really bad bad refereeing when are we actually going to get a decent break in our favour. In saying that we did deserve the square root of fuck all today as we played really poorly. This International break is really needed to give the young lads a rest, mentally if not physically. They should be fit enough but to me they looked mentally knackered. For the 3rd time at home in a row I am feeling fucking scunnered and let down and I never get like this.

Not feeling confident for this game at all tomorrow. Think our young lads will feel the effects of Thursdays game more than they will, our boys tried and just failed while Celtic got pumped so will be up to make amends and the hordes of unwashed will be baying for blood from the off. Would make a few changes to our team. .....................Randolph Saunders....Craigan...Reynolds......Hammell ..................Jennings..Hately............ Humphrey...........Forbes................Murphy ......................Blackman.......... Think Las and Sutton could be doing with a break, plus would give us options from the bench. Try and use our pace on the flanks rather than punt the ball for Sutton to flick it on or try and win a foul. In saying that with Celtic's defence a bit shoddy Sutts might have a decent chance to bully Hooiveld and Loovens. Get down and get at there full backs aswell. Tell Hately and Jenno to sit and work there midfield and let our forward four break them down. Try and get Forbes on the ball as much as possible without him having to run to much. Dictate the passes over the top of the full backs for Humphrey and Murphy to run onto and Blackman to hustle and run all day. Heart says 2-1 Well, head says 2-0 green mhanky mhob. EDIT. Forgot they have that big swdish centre half who looks a good player. Pace it is, think he would have Sutts in his back pocket.

Odense - Europa League Play Off 2nd Leg
siebsbarmyarmy replied to Tartan Copper's topic in Club Chat
Gutted doesnt even begin to describe how I am feeling tonight and I'm sure the majority of the 9105 inside FP will agree. We created enough chances to go out against a team who really rode their luck over two legs.......................... Luck, what is that, we never ever get any luck. 5 decent Penalties claims over two legs and when we actually get one what do we do, we miss it, not only miss it but the rebound of the post we miss that. We miss a chance from 5 yards, you just cannot cannot do that. One set piece and we are a goal down and chasing pur tails. Why is a player of Utaka's quality given so much space in the box, we had fucking 10 men in there aswell. Aaaaaaarrrrggggghhhhhh I gie up. -
Odense - Europa League Play Off 2nd Leg

My heads been mince all day at work. Tensions building and all that, really cant wait for this game. 3-0 Motherwell, Murphy with 2 and Saunders with a bullet header. -
What a fucking free kick..... absolutely outstanding. It was the least we deserved as we were bye far the better of the two teams. I cannot fathom why again we had a bad bad referee, we just dont get decent refs. Eric Djemba-Djemba must feel like the luckiest man alive, 4 or 5 bookable fouls and doesnt even get spoken too. Reynolds 1 foul, yellow card, Saunders the same and Jenno 3 fouls which led to two yellows. Thats not to even mention 2 or 3 really good pen shouts.... again..... Really pleased that the tie is still alive, that goal will put at least another 2000 or 3000 bums on seats at Fir Park next week and in the long run could be worth £3m to a club like ours. Lets back the team 1005 and roar them to victory next week and secure the future of our club for years to come.... MON THE WELL..................................

I dont get the Forbes on the left hand side of midfield. He has clearly shown that he doesnt play well out on the wing. Too much tracking up and down and he doesnt have the engine for it. Put the boy in the centre in a more protected position and I'm sure we would see the benefits. He can put the ball on a tea plate and has the abilty to split defences with passes for Murphy and The Hump to run onto. In the centre he would be a luxury we could afford well marshalled by Jenno/Lasley/Hately with the ability to change or win games. Very similar to what Celtic had with Moravcik when he was there. Dont get me wrong am not comparin the boy to him but in the style of play they had wheh he was there. The first half against Hibs was crying out for someone to split there defence with passes down the flank, too many in my opinion went short or out the park causing Murphy and Humhrey to cut back.
-
What no Jenno. Nah would have Jenno it my team anyday of the week. Depends how tired the lads are after Thursday and any knocks/niggles etc but I would probably go with the same team as Sunday and change it about a wee bit earlier to keep the boys fresh. Maybe even drop Lasley and put in Forbes in his place, felt we were missing the killer ball from Centre mid and Forbes can play infront of Hately and Jenno something like this. ---------------Randolph---------------- Saunders Craigan Reynolds Hammell ----------Hately-----Jennings----------- Humphrey------Forbes---------Murphy ---------------Sutton---------------- Means we have a creative spark from Forbes to find Humph and Murphy out wide more. Alternatively if Hately is happy at Rightback drop Saunders and put Lasley in Centre mid.

I liked Houstons quote that he has no players that go down easily in his team...... ha ha you having a laugh Craig fucking Conway is all I have to say to that. Overall I am pretty disappointed we walked away with nothing from the game. If we had went in 3-0 up at half time Hibs fans couldnt have complained as we dominated proceedings. The goal before half time was a killer, you can let a team with players of Riordan ability to be able to whip good balls in, poor mistake from Lasley. 2nd half we were getting caught cold. Thought Saunders had Riordan tied up for about 60 mins then Hibs changed the shape of their team and caught us out too regularly. Dont really know what to say about Thomson the ref mind you, so many poor poor decision he made and only started giving us decisions when we went 3-1 down. What does Sol Bamba have to do to go bet booked at Fir Park for persistent fouling. Him and Hogg make a cracking WWE tag team with the clothes lines and body slams. They really get away with murder.

Celtic Spent some money, think there bigger squad will prevail over the season Rangers Beattie signing is a big boost, but too small squad, injuries might fuck them. Dundee United Squad stayed the same and think they will finish 3rd again. Hearts Good signings and organised manager to make them more disciplined Hibs Too many decent players to fail poorly, if they sell Stokesor Riordan will struggle Motherwell Top 6 again. But think it will be a late push that will see us there. Aberdeen Hope we finish above them, shite side, signings will improve them, slightly. St Johnstone Mcinnes has been shrewd with signings of Parkin/Dobie, will score goals. Hamilton Who cares, Reid is a tit, Mensing is a wank. Kilmarnock Will struggle, between these 3 for last place and will be close St Mirren Lennon is a decent young manager with a shite squad much weakened. ICT Will struggle, hope they go down dont like Malpas and lost a abit of respect for Butcher after hearing how he treats players. Dont get me wrong wouldnt mind eitehr St Mirren or Killie to go down but think it will be ICT. Dont look strong enough.

Browns interview makes this sound like a really good signing and he sounds very happy to have im hear. Looking forward to seeing him play for the Well. Welcome Nick.

Gutted would love to have went. Going to my Stag doo on the Friday the 20th early so cant make it unless I went on the charter but I aint paying that cash so close to the wedding. The bus would have been perfect. Good luck lads and enjoy the trip.
-
And if your tired or working you can always get "Nani" to look after the sprog when he or she is born. Congrats Sydney, another Well fan for the future is always welcome.
-
Ha ha this is brilliant. In all honesty I am actually a bit sad he has signed as this had all the hallmarks of another Freddie Dindeleux and some comedy genius for a few years and if he turns out to be shit it will be a sad sad day. Heres hoping hes a hit and we sign him up for a few years and sell him for a fortune. Welcome Esteban.
-
I remember they used to do this years and years ago at Fir Park. Was always a pre-season favourite of mine to go to. Might take a wee trip down tomorrow night aswell.
-
Tried that one, only 6 or 7 out the 20 are well fans and all the cash is paid for the hotel, bus, tickets etc. Not happy to spalsh more cash to go to Denmark, tight arses.
-
Am gutted, the away leg is the day before my stag weekend which is already booked for Chester Races. Trying to talk the lads into changing the stag to Denmark but they arent up for it Typical we get a run in Europe the year I'm getting married and all my finances are going to that. Might see how much the Charter is and talk the future wife into letting me go on that, means I would be back in time for the bus for my stag on the Friday at 10am. Would be an outstanding weekend.

Group stages in a heatbeat, would set the club up financially for a couple of years....... no question for me.
