Absolutely delighted with the result tonight. We did seem to tire badly in the last 20 mins but started off like a rocket. Played some great football while Aalaslund played a lot of high balls up to the freak. Excellant performances from Reynolds and Craggs, both where outstanding tonight. also top performances from Saunders, Randolph and Murphy. Young Murphy is starting to look the biz, holds the ball up really well and the timing of his runs are fantastic. Has pace and trickery and is finishing well. Who was it that said there is no way he will score 15 goals this season.......... Only 12 to go. Delighted, delighted, delighted. Cant wait for the draw, goin to have to watch it at work though. Bummer.

No chance. Fir Park is where its at. Sell out similar to the Nancy game against Man City or Liverpool and get down and at them. Play it at Hampden and it loses the special feel to me. Its not a scottish cup semi or final, we want this game played at our stadium.

Aye just you forget the 4 or 5 very good tackles and blocks the young lad put in. The short pass back was a mistake yes but did Craigan beside him shout to clear or Randolph.... poss not.... the penalty was a simple error, which to me looked like a bad call from the ref, the Motherwell players reactions are stereotypical of how we have reacted since Brown and Knox took over, they dont accept any harrassment or back chat to ref's and our players dont do it. Saunders marked there giant striker at every free kick and corner, how many headers did he get on target, very little if any. Hardly his worst ever night in a Motherwell jersey.

Watched the 2nd half in The PUB, thought we defended really well and from what I saw without the benefit of a replay it wasnt a penalty. Referee had a complete fucking shicker tho, so many really really petty decisions against Motherwell and got a couple of big ones badly wrong, Murphy hauled down in the 2nd half after beating the defender and the penalty. IMO Murphy, Saunders, Reynolds and Hately all played very well. Humphrey had a couple of great opportunites to get to the bye line and cut back every time onto his right peg and lost possesion. Big Randy in goals looked tremendous.

I was speaking to Esteban in the club shop. He was with his father Frederic Dindeleux who I believe is also his agent. Interesting times ahead.

Heard a wee rumour tonight that Lukas wont be back at Fir Park next year, he will be playing for Coventry who are seemingly close to agreeing a deal to sign him. Shame that as I was hoping to see him back at FP for another season. Source is usually pretty accurate.

I was reading in the paper that Aalesund have a striker who is 6ft 8 in height. Taller than crouch and the 2nd tallest player in Europe. Great just what Craggs and Reynolds need to play against if we get through. Hopefully a game for Hutch to come in.

Or Bop is being pedantic and thinks that because there are a few tickets left it aint sold out or Carlukemurray is slightly over excited and thinks because there may only be about 100 tickets left that it sold out.... meh who knows, its all just a guessing game

Would fuckin love a fit Chris Porter back at FP banging in the goals, but I agree completely with Melvin. He's the type of player who has to be playing regularly week in week out to keep his fitness, get stronger and stop getting injured which hasnt been happening at Derby.

Sounds like 2 worthwhile games so far. Just out of interest for anyone that was there how did our youngsters, McHugh, Meechan, Halsman, Page et al play last night.

Opening day of the season always brings more fans out. Both teams are in Europe and hopefully will have played well in a couple of games, new signings, optimism. Hibs hopefully bringing a 2000+ fans through for the game. When I say full crowd I'm thinking 8000-10000. Optimistic yes but you never know. Realistic more 6000. Key word in my statemnet was Should

Fixtures have worked out pretty well for me. Away to Hearts on my wedding day, a game I normally would have been at but not bad, the missus was dreading me being like a bear with a sore head if we had a home game that day . Then I'm only missing St Midden at home during the honeymoon, pretty delighted with that to be honest. Not a bad opening fixture, pretty difficult but should be a near full house at Fir Park I think.

Really like the away one and the home is startng to grow on me. My only complaint is that I dont know how they will look on those of us who maybe have a wee beer belly. Look like quite "slim" fitting

Must admit I can see where you come from in that but in my opinion I think its important that we get the youth and future of our club tied up. Young guys who can see further than the end of their noses in there careers and know this is a good place to play. Congrats to the club, we as fans have been moaning for too long that we dont tie our lads down and lose them ala Slane but they have to be congrtulated in investing in our future. Plus I rate what I have seen of Mchugh very highly, reminds me off a young Gary McSwegan, very solid player who I think can go on to be a very good player for our club.

Delightd young Murphy has signed. He has a great first touch and can score goals. Just to be more consistent will see us with a very saleable assest in 2 years time.
