NO This has been a great thread to read I think we have a forward-thinking, modern Chief Executive Officer with a fresh and un-biased opinions and thoughts about where the club/game should go and they are very sensible indeed. As is the replies from the fans what other club in UK football allows input from and listen to the fans? Should there be a salary cap in the SPL like we have here in Australia for our football codes?
  3. McNamee could try the A League
  4. Stu well said mate have a or a Yazoo.
  5. I smiled reading the official site when they said the Porto's who were to officiate at to days game have went home. BTW it also says the games off.

  7. CB says GROW UP to the Refs... http://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/index.php?op...&Itemid=132
  8. news of the strike has made the papers here in Australia....This from Billy Ried.... Hamilton boss Billy Reid is desperate to move on from the referees saga after warning about the danger of a strike weeks ago. The Accies boss felt the need to speak out after reports on his side's victory over Motherwell last month focused heavily on a dubious decision by Craig Thomson, warning that "without a referee and a ball we don't have a game". And the Accies boss is eager for talks to be held to solve the crisis after the referees hold their weekend of protest. "I hope so for everybody concerned, for the whole of Scottish football, and especially referees," Reid said. "It's a difficult job they have got, the pressure they are under is immense. "If it's affecting their families as well, I certainly feel for them. "Someone asked me a few weeks ago about this and I said it wouldn't surprise me." Reid, whose team host St Mirren on Saturday, believes managers can take the pressure off referees by having a quiet word with them after matches instead of speaking out in the media. "I've been a first-team coach for two or three years and managed for seven to eight years now and I've never been in front of the SFA," he said. "I'm not going to say I pride myself on that but there is a line you can't cross with referees. "If something goes against me then I'm first to chap the door at the end of the game and have a word with them. "But at the end of the day the decision is made and I can assure you, we don't get loads and loads of decisions going for us. "It's part and parcel of the game and you just have to get on with it."
  9. Celtic boss Neil Lennon is 'optimistic' that some good will come from the SPL referee strike. The Scottish Football Association have spent all week scouring Europe for replacement officials, ensuring this weekend's top flight fixtures will go ahead as planned. He admits that the adverse publicity generated by the striking officials has damaged the image of Scottish football, but feels the issue could be good for the game in the long run. "What's been going on in the last week or so doesn't put a good light on the game," the Celtic boss said. "But I'm optimistic that something good will come out of it. "First of all I'm pleased that the game is going ahead, not only for the players but the supporters as well. "It would have been a major disappointment to everyone at the club if the game hadn't gone ahead. "We will see what the aftermath is after this weekend. "It's not for me to comment on why there is a strike or what the reasons for the strike are, people have their own reasons for that. "I understand it to a certain extent but I'm hoping that it will have a positive reaction rather than a negative one."
  10. ..I see you drew his front teeth in...
  11. So Celtic by bringing the game into disrepute are to blame for the Ref's strike? Ok SFA punish Celtic by deducting 34 points. All Celtic games till end of season even if they draw or win get no points. The opposing teams they play if they win or draw get the the points. Celtic end up in the First Div and have to win promotion to get back into the SPL. By doing THAT it would be a warning to any other club not to mess with the SFA/SPL rules.
  12. Good drawing...you even have the unfinished main stand in yer drawing...have a YAZOO mate
  13. Leeann That list looks a winner there for the local fans, and wont add any extra cost to the club, should work. But the bottom line is fans turning up at every home game through out the season...that might help Andy with the extra equipment he needs... re launch the club newsletter. re launch a MFC membership fan base offering a few discounts, goodies etc.
  14. Love it have a ... ...or should that be a Yazoo?
  15. nice to hear players wanting to stay at Fir Park...The lad is getting first team football here.
  16. Former Hibernian and Falkirk boss John Hughes believes the credibility of Scottish football is at stake if referees carry through proposed strike action. Hughes, said: "I'm hoping it doesn't go as far as that because it will make us the laughing stock of world football and we have to be promoting the Scottish game. "It's about getting everyone together in the same room for the best of Scottish football, so you can see everyone's point of view." Hughes, who lost his job as Hibs boss last month, added: "The game is in a little bit of chaos. It needs bringing together and I sympathise with the referees because they do get a hard time. "But managers are also open to criticism, that is part and parcel of the job. "Referees need to be accountable and there has to be more transparency in what goes on behind the doors at Hampden. "But one thing I will say, if referees are getting phone calls to their home or work place, or their kids are getting a hard time at school, then that is not on, that is way below the belt. "After all, it is just a sport."
  17. The begining of the end.... http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/ho...re-wipeout.html
  18. Can the club and others who will be effected by the strike should it go ahead not sue the SFA AND the Refs Association for loss of earnings? I can see lawyers gathering here
  19. Ah those were the days great away support and huge support at FP.
  20. Thats the question I was going to ask.
  21. Should CB put out the team that beat St Johnstone, V Hearts this weekend? As Ian has said for obvious reasons we don't get to the games these days so we can only go on what other people say on here and that is Jennings & Lasley in midfield seems to work well and Hateley should never play for Motherwell again? a bit harsh as when I can, I listen to the BBC for the 'Well games and it seems the 'Well and these palayers are palying good football...and yet we get the moaning myrtles saying Hateley, Gow Forbes, etc, are crap??? Anyway if the game is played this weekend we get the chance to see it on TV on monday afternoon.
