You've a f-ing cheek, you've shouted "agenda" at me for saying i don't rate O'Brien at all and the same at someone who don't rate Moutouakil. Luckily enough sticks and stones ...
-
The press wouldve been saving their pencils for tomorrows reports on the chants at Tannadice today im sure Well done NWF, and just think, at 12 he's about the right age to sit up the end of the East singing his heart out with the rest of them ! Don't go disowning him now !
-
Well done on turning up mate , couldnt have been easy after convincing yourself about all the songs and chants you would be hearing all day. Big brave soldier
-
Havent seen any confirmation anywhere but heard after the game that he'd refused to speak to the BBC again as they misrepresented him over his McGhee comments.
-
Same here, wondered what we were going to do without his goals and creativity in the oppositions box .... While it wasnt his fault that we were on top in the first half and lucky to escape with a point in the second the first half did show us that the folk on here saying that we'll sorely miss him when Brazil or Real Madrid come in for him in January are absolutely loopy Dont agree with the posts saying he was missing for half an hour mind you , he was his usual busy but ineffective self when he came on IMO
-
Never seen the one in the Herald but the one in the Record has very little quotes from Gannon and he doesnt mention O'Brien , the headline mentions O'Brien and the bit at the end that isnt from Gannon mentions that Slane is near to a return. Dunno how much O'Brien is on , maybe Gannon think's he can do better for the money. He's dropped him , subbed him and took him out of wide midfield when he had options to do so, i think it's safe to say that he doesnt have as high an opinion of our wing wizard as some on here have.
-
It certainly is and if you dont agree that Jim Obrien is an effective winger and we've been cutting teams open week in week out the loonies will ship ye off to Hartwood
-
Im not questioning Gannon's loyalty , it hasnt been tested , to say he's loyal and here for the long term after 5 months is a bit presumptious though So McGhee did go for youths (casting his net down South) that would be our future rather than pay signing on fees and relatively big wages on guys who might well be off within 6 months or a year with no return on them ? Which players that have made the breakthrough did he keep out the team ? Forbes who was out on loan ? Im not having a dig at Gannon , im glad we have him , just playing Devils advocate , if Gannon had the chance of a bigger job in January and went then the next guy would have just as big a job as there was at the Summer and no Quinn or Clarkson fees to play with And by the way Diggle if you are reading , im staying off the O'Brien thread , its far too cold for you to be wetting your pants today
-
Well he brought on Saunders and Murphy , dunno how instrumental he was in bringing Page and Hutchison in , did he get Reynolds to extend a contract ? He sent Forbes out to gain experience. Dont know how many signing on fee's or what wages he paid to single year contract signers or if he spent as much on wages for loans as he says we are paying the Pole now. He's still a c**t mind you , just saything that ive seen no evidence that he's any less loyal than Gannon so far, not so long ago McGhee had the same status of piety as Gannon is enjoying now and look how that ended up ...
-
If Mark McGhee taught us anything surely it was that talk is cheap ? Jim Gannon may well be the Saint of Stockport but many on here claim to know for a "FACT" that he's super loyal , here for the long haul , wont leave us until he's built something. A fact they seem to have picked up from other posters on here He's mainly built a side of loans and short termers , if he gets an offer he cant refuse in January (heaven forbid) the same voices will be those berating him loudest for leaving us in a similar state to McGhee. Im with Steelboy , tell the media certain players arent earning their wages and will be moved on then act flabbergasted when they speculate as to who ? Good job so far Jim , though i wouldnt read this board if i were you if we go on a bad run and you spit the dummy like that again with the media !

Shower of mugs standing out in that while i had a nice warm police cell

Ian Ross' last minute winner the day Jamie Dolan took over from Howie Roon ye Scumtic Van Der Gaag v Dunfermline , that day was a rollercoaster
-
Why not , we'd became world beaters on the back of about a dozen mediocre ones
-
Surely no the full game and just the Scotsport main feature that we had to wait until late on on the Sunday for !? I might be getting mixed up with the two but canny mind the 'Well fans in the Main Stand on Farningham day , had always thought we were down below where i was, as i said i was up in the Broomloan top , awfy glad i nagged the Uncle that took me into not leaving early with his mates that day ! Huge cap doffed too to the Motherwell boys up there that game , colours proudly on display !
-
Any of you that are older than me , what was the score with segregation at Ibrox then , did we have a set section or was it just an area where away fans generally headed for I remember at the Ray Farningham game i was in the top tier of the Broomloan and although our fans were down in the bottom corner there was a good number around me in Motherwell colours.
-
Winner scored by Junior Burns , still seen suffering with the rest of us in the East Stand these days
-
Get the overland to West Brompton and mind watch yourself , there's standards around them parts , they'll be able to sniff from you the kind of crap youve been buying your laddie to wear
-
You think he'd be going into their first team ? Maloney, McCourt , McGeady , McGinn , Robson , Mizuno then theres their youth team .... Celtic buy Scottish players to move them on and to their credit only rarely do they end up with Riorden situations where they fail to do so in the current climate the fee being talked about for Slane is less than two weeks wages for Scott Brown
-
McCart worked long enough with Slane to already know if he's recommending a bid or not , getting him while injured would likely save them a few quid in compo due to lack of 1st team action. Quite ironic that Islam whatever his name is was hauled in for a meeting at the Piggery with McCart not so long ago as bigger clubs were/are trying to turn his head. 4 pages and counting on a rumour about a 17 year old plooky youth that has barely kicked a ball for us
-
So now he hasnt been excellent this season or our best player ripping teams apart every week , he's just a decent player to have on our books ? I know you havent been to any more games than me this season or last so ive as much right as you to offer an opinion on what he offers . Educate me on who has been missing the chances JoB has been creating while he's been excellent this season and in what games. Paul Slane has hurt teams more in his very very very limited game time , i doubt he'll be moving to Spain in January and i doubt if Inter will be sniffing around the halfwayline shuffler either.
-
Slane has looked good , he is willing to get the ball and run at defenders , with something productive at the end of it , he worried defences more in his couple of hours than O'Brien has managed in over a season and 3 months , he's scored as many goals as Obrien anyway (at Motherwell , JOB did manage one at Dunfermline but none at Dundee United , what a threat !) Slane is untried though , hopefully he can be a new Ross McCormack , someone to take the pressure off the defence by running with the ball , beating defenders , scoring goals or playing others in , in and around the box. How folk can say he's a superstar when he hasnt played a league game is beyond me , if he's as good as we hope he's worth his weight in gold , fingers crossed but far far too early to say. JoB ripped Whittaker apart did he - leading to a corner that day if i recall rightly, what a threat , what chances did we create ? At Tannadice he done well to win that penalty after the defender had played him the ball , the usual suspects on here that think he is a good player gave him less MOTM votes than Steve Jennings , who was taken off after 25 mins , aye he had a stormer and we created bugger all else At Aberdeen he was up against a kid , what did we create that day? St Johnstone he couldve done better at both goals we conceded , confirmed to me that he should be going forwards if in the team at all. Maybe he should be worried in that case as the manager has already decided he isnt indespensible in wide midfield this season 10 man mid 1st division Inverness ? Llanelli ?? Tough nuts for an excellent wing wizard to crack Killie agreed he actually created something , about the only time he's done so in his time here IMO - if he done it every week id be happy to have him , what we got against Hibs is what he gives every week though , flattering to decieve , killing space for others , running into corners instead of towards goal and the opposition full back and keeper delighted , smoking cigars safe in the knowledge that he's playing and he isnt going to create anything or score (ill give you his corner on Saturday BTW if you accept the rest hit the first man and i wont even mention his penalty against THEM) Suppose really it comes down to our differing opinions on the season so far , personally i think week in week out we are struggling to create at all , you think we've created loads as he's been excellent , we must be going to different games
-
Its all about opinions and the above in mine is absolute pish. Ask our strikers how many chances he's creating. Im off now for the day though so will sword you and present the facts on my return
-
What transfer speculation ? The transfer window is closed , you basing this on a rumour that says Slane has been offered £200 a week !!? Slane hasnt kicked a ball in the league yet , i dont think Obrien will be playing in wide midfield once Humphrey and Slane return. So im not seeing how well both are performing We'll see where Obrien ends up , he wont get any better than us up here , fair play if he moves down South and earns himself a few quid but he isnt even close to being as good as Jim Paterson , someone else whos worth was hugely over exaggerated on this board so he better take a cushion with him if he does move down there
-
Aye the good old days , must be a good 10 years now since Jim Leighton got a skelp for his cheek
-
And i bet a player who thinks he's smart noising up a couple of hundred football fans with a drink in them wouldnt be so smart or quick to do it if he was passing them in the street. Shouldnt be getting stuff thrown at him but he knew what he was doing and so cant moan IMO Dont worry though , the rest of you are still allowed to moan PS For clarity, I was down the other end and dont condone it
