But that's just rumour on pie and bov and that was my point. Nothing more than that. I just don't like to see someone being kicked all over the place (this isn't aimed at you). If Kettlewell goes fair enough but in two years time I can guarantee you folk will be shouting for the next person to go if they don't meet our standards
-
Not from me either. I just think Kettlewell doesn't deserve to be chased out at the moment
-
I don't know why you would see us getting into Europe as negative tbh. It's not all about going abroad and drinking - it's a boost for any club
-
With respect. I disagree. He's got every right to call refs out for bad decisions. And I don't see him as being a darling of the media either. He gets criticism all over social media. I do hope he turns it around but if not I pity the next person who takes the job - he'll get the same treatment in time
-
I don't have any more questions for you. Casey has been a bombscare at times. As have other defenders. Are you seriously trying to say that when defenders get caught out at a goal it's all on tactics. Come on. Yeah - Kettlewell has his faults - but he's not the only person at fault here - funny that the players always seem to get a free pass. Btw apparently all opinions on here are welcome - so you keep expressing yours and I'll keep expressing mine
-
Him signing Bair won't guarantee his job - Bair is gone. But I think people need to be realistic. Do folk think we are going to sack a manager at this stage in the season when we are fifth. Irrespective of how badly we are playing just now
-
Seriously. You don't like the guy - that's obvious. But why on earth would you think that Casey is going to be having a go at Kettlewell just because of "rumours" on pie and bov. I like Casey but he's made enough mistakes of his own over the piece.
-
Unfortunately 🤣
-
I'd agree
-
I was asking someone why they thought him having signed Bair who has moved on would keep him in a job if we were terrible. I don't see Kettlewell talking about Bair right now
-
With respect why would him signing Bair - who has moved on keep him at Motherwell if he's not producing the goods. I completely agree that most of the players need to have a look at themselves too
-
Im completely gutted that we lost today - just because I'm not sitting calling for Kettlewell to go doesn't mean that I'm not - and with respect to anyone with a different opinion - me typing my opinion on a Motherwell forum won't make one bit of difference as to whether he stays or goes - that's down to the board. BTW - if he does go. I hope the next manager does a better job or in two years time he'll be off too - however I'm sure said managers know that football is transitional and that's what they risk when they take the job
-
I would think so.
-
None of that will really matter if we end up there - which I'm not sure we will. Yeah we do need fresh ideas - I'm just not sure sacking him at this point in the season (which some people clearly want) is the best idea
-
I've actually never been to watch Motherwell away in Europe in all my time of being a fan. Surely it can be a bit both? It's gutting to be out of the cup at this stage but getting to Europe does mean a lot to some fans. You could see what it meant to fans of clubs who did get there this season
-
I don't think he's going to lose his job unless we end up in the play off spot. You're maybe right there - some fresh ideas. Next week is going to be a massive game for us obviously.

There are other English clubs who loaned to us over the last few seasons - including this one. I don't think any club has to send us more than one player just because they've loaned to us previously. There will be lots of variables as to why we get a player on loan at any specific time. We gave Mika a platform - he played well for us and then he moved on - it's quite clear that he was an exceptional talent. A quick Google search shows an article where Mika was praising Kettlewell and saying that he had given him confidence to score goals and various other articles where Kettlewell was praising the player. Mika didn't really need that much development - what he needed was game time which he got with us. Arsenal also actually don't have that many players out on loan at the moment - 8. If it all comes down to HOOFBALL - players have been sent to us on loan during other managers tenure - and some fans weren't happy with those other managers style of play either.
-
Pretty sure it's the latter.
-
Looks like a good signing - I certainly don't think someone having an injury means they are injury prone - it's the nature of the game. Hopefully he will join sooner rather than later
-
I think Casey has his critics too - and I think SOD gets a disproportionate amount of criticism compared to some other players - even when he's playing well
-
Absolutely - being fan owned is obviously a reason why we operate under certain conditions (not suggesting that it's a bad thing). Dundee ran up almost a 3 million pound loss to get promoted - maintaining wages when turnover dropped. The only concern I have right now is with the injury list (believe it's 9 now) and how we maintain our league position given these issues. Right now it would be good to have a safety net but we'll just need to see how the transfer window pans out.

I made a comment about us competing in a market where other teams could offer better terms. That's all I said. I used the example of Van Veen -(note to self completely wrong example) absolutely we made the right decision not to sign him at that point. I'm aware of our league position but the reality is is that if Killie can offer 20 per cent more than us in wages as someone else suggested - even if that translated to 1k or 2k a week we are going to lose out on players we want to other clubs of a similar size. That's just reality and obviously it is swings and roundabouts as well - we operate in the loan market and try and develop young players. It's completely fine to disagree and have opinions surely without people having to be proved wrong for expressing them.
-
All club expenses - including paying off of former managers, bonuses for getting into Europe and match day staff I believe.
-
I would say yes. Bring him home

I like Dan Casey and I'll be sorry if he goes Also asked someone I know who knows transfer stuff before I do and he dismissed it as nonsense
